dollywobbler
Wow, that'd be kind! It's the nearside. Offside was bodged up for the 2014 test and contains a fair amount of our old washing machine... mat_the_cat
plasticvandan
Driving the Dyane should prove good enthusiasm and realism boost as to why you need to keep the tin snail and have it on the road.why anyone would have a continually changing fleet of soul less nails while a 2cv slowly moulders into the ground is beyond me!The other point ius,if you sold it,with the obscene prices they now fetch, you would likely never own one again. mrbenn
This is great news. I'll ping a contribution over when I get paid. dollywobbler
Skizzer
I can haz chipped in a bit because I'm doing evil capitalist work at the moment so have some funds. I was appalled and horrified to get a message from Wordpress in the week saying 'Dolly must go'. Dolly must stay. dollywobbler and chaseracer
dollywobbler
I had to go and share the news. She fired second churn! Once the petrol finally came through... Definitely getting my A-Series Citroen kicks this morning. Dyane is running well, but pinking a bit, so after a brew, I'll be back out there reminding myself why 2CVs are better... (ie to access the points, the only bodywork removal that's needed is opening the bonnet rather than removing a stupid, plastic grille and then cursing the bodywork that's left getting in the way) Cleon-Fonte, vulgalour, Angrydicky and 2 others
Noel Tidybeard
I'd never get away with it. She's too used to the luxury of winding windows these days. Bloody luxury...shirley lady d/w would like a bit of ride quality compared to the nipper in exchange for windy windows
dollywobbler
She's changed man. Took her out in the Honda this evening and she didn't even say "bloody hell, this is a bit firm!" Mind you, she did once own a Mini, so she has a different idea of 'comfortable' to me.
richardmorris
Dyanes are very nice, but tend to complicate the simplicity of the 2cv and make things more awkward to fix.

mat_the_cat
Shhh, don't spoil his mojo! This development makes me happy, partly because you'll be keeping Elly (and I wonder if deep down I'm comparing it to my own situation?) but also because of the generosity of your friends that want to make this happen
richardmorris
yes but look at its little face...That's one of the reasons the dyane never really captured the hearts of the faithful. And why they're now a lot better value.
Ghosty
I like Dyanes, I think they look better than 2CVs. I wonder if such a little thing and classic policies would go together to make affordable insurance?Nah, probably not.

To be honest, judging by the lovely messages I've received, that's one of the main motivators for people. A fiver or a tenner here really adds up. I must be closing in on £900 now. Frogchod
Love the sound of a 602. Think I've had my Dyane for 22 years. It's now in need of TLC. I've a new chassis, sills, floors and other goodies ready to go but sadly no time to fit it all If only I had a proper job and not self employed and doing bloody paperwork on Sundays... Anyway, have a fiver.

dollywobbler
And she now looks like this. Had to deploy angle grinder on one of the bolts holding the headlamp bar in place. Mind you, had to deploy a breaker bar to get one of the main wing nuts off! Turns out it really is quite rusty...
