RobT
Top spots! Glad to see that ADO16 is still around, I used to see it a lot in Brixton. The hazard tape on the rear bumper is a new addition though.
inconsistant
A few more. I know ages ago I said no more old Mercs but this one was lovely, and I got talking to the owner and it had been resting in a garage for about 15 years in the West Country before he trailered it back to London, got it running and is slowly tidying it up while using it as a daily. A Volvo estate with those lovely underwhelming wheel covers they had for a while that look reassuringly like alloys Might pop this one in the WTF or Cars you didn't know thread... it's a Honda Mobilio Spike. Looks huge in the photos but it's not that big really And this is a Sherpa. Probably not that often you see a Charger on a campsite. I've never seen one on a campsite before. Probably not that often you see a Triumph Spitfire on a campsite. I can remember the last time I saw a Triumph Spitfire on a campsite, because I took a photo of that one too. It was in 1986. 2CV with a boot extension HillmanImp, LightBulbFun, danthecapriman and 4 others
inconsistant
Mini Convertible. Would very much like. 6 wheeled CX. Fiat Unpronounceable Saab 900i... Love those trims. DS Unimoke electric bike. Looks like a laugh but you could get an 80s beige plastic Volvo bike for a tenth of the price. Bedford CF with serck plates. Well, I do love a folding bike, and this one is a Fiat apparently, so it counts as a spot. Yes I did ask if it was for sale, and no, he wouldn't sell it to me. Two Rover Cabriolets Rooooooooooover 75 Edit: found a couple of extras: First some run of the mill classic fodder but I though there was something quite nice about it, maybe it's the alloys that suit it well. Those front wing indicators look massive, are they all like that? Can't say I've ever noticed before. Also one of those Nissan Muranos from the early 2000s, in that nice copper colour. Not really all that old but definitely futureshite I reckon. danthecapriman, outlaw118, LightBulbFun and 2 others
inconsistant
Not been bothering much chod this year, but a few notable exceptions have made themselves known and I just couldn't stop myself taking some snaps. First a faded Cinquecento sporting, in a less usual non-yellow colour. Dull German waft-mobile, but wait a minute, what number is that on the back 750i? 5 litres? The v12 badge on the side says it’s probably true. I’d debadge that if it was mine and surprise a few people at the lights. Bet it's stonkingly fast. Spotted this locally, for a moment I thought it was a 924, then I realise it was a lovely Japanese 924 inspired Mk1 Mazda RX7. It keeps moving so I'm hoping it's still being used. Rover SD1, so lovely to see it’s a 2600 not a 3500, and SE must be top of the range trim level? Volvo 440 looking super fresh and sharp and less shabby than most of these have become. Bonus V40 in the background looking very unloved. More Volvos, assume there’s a 340/360 fanatic living somewhere down this road. So delighted to see this parked in a residential road close to the local station. What a fab commuting car. Dull as ditchwater Escort spotted in West Wales SHERPA! Chatted with the owner, he had another one around the corner for sale. I took photos of both but didn’t buy it. Tatty BMW, from when they made elegant, understated vehicles of desire. Pert little Peugeot too VW Caddy in Wales not pineappled not scene not slammed not stance not wanker owned. Beautiful Viva, same age as me. I grew up with these as family cars during the 70s, we had a run of 4 or 5 HCs Some sort of old car, Austin Seven probably. Not my cup of tea but can respectfully appreciate the dedication needed to maintain and drive one of these about. This is my spot of the year. Didn’t know what it was and couldn’t find any badges despite looking all around it. Showed it to a couple of peeps at work and one noticed the Daimler hubcaps, so a little research finally revealed it as a Daimler Conquest Century (Century meaning the 100bhp version, probably a fairly powerful car in its day). To my eye a beautifully oddly proportioned car, the curves hide a much more upright car than it appears. SPG6 is a mega cool reg no. Registered 1st Jan 1954, MOT lapsed but Shirley it’s MOT immune? Immaculate MOT history for the last decade. It looks like it gets well used, and it was a damp drizzly day that I spotted this so obvs not a fair weather only garage queen. Spotted this yesterday driving past. Got to be properly rare these days. I remember the 3 door hatchback version of this model Celica but not the 2 door coupe. Nice colour too. That's all for now. catsinthewelder, LightBulbFun, BlankFrank and 8 others

Didn't realise there was a second Sherpa lurking around in there. inconsistant
Time for the annual chod bothering update. TR7 in Hythe looking lovely in the summer sun except for the horrible after market alloys. Still would though. This person must be some kind of superhero. Mk2 Prairie in Autoshite colour scheme Autoshite colour scheme Land Rover with fairly rare K2 phone booth behind. Cumbrian Mustang. inconsistant
A Volvo, in Scotland. It's an 850 T5 disguised as a dull Volvo. Superb. I think this is a Nissan QX, which I recall was an executive car disguised as a Primera. Also bonus shite behind but not sure what it is. Chrysler/Cadillac/Thunderbird? Not really Shite more brothers from other mothers. Nice to see them together to compare though. Sharp looking X1/9 looking good on those alloys. Early Porsche 924 in original 1970s colour scheme. Nice well worn Mustang spotted in Margate Austin A40 mk1_4dr, LT84, crad and 2 others
inconsistant
These are cheating a bit but I'll put them up anyway. I was at a 924 Owners Club gathering at Gaydon on the same day there was an AROnline get together there. There was some excellent BL/AR/Rover stuff parked up outside and it was all gorgeous. The 200vi was my fave, we had a blue 5 door one and loved it. There must be only a handful of these left and this one was in amazing condition. inconsistant
Here's a few spots from the first half of this year. Not sure if we're still doing spotted threads on here but thought these were too interesting to ignore... Early XJ-S on a P reg, with those gorgeous early alloys. Not sure about later XJSess but to my eyes these early ones have aged really well and look '70s elegant' in the same way early E types look '60's elegant', if you know what I mean. A high point of 70s car design and great to see it being used as a daily. A couple of cars we've driven past a lot but finally got the chance to walk past and have a better look. What a hero running an H reg Carlton as the sensible car. Passed by a few weeks later and this CX was parked up in the same place. Also fab alloys. I was out on a date with with Bob Outlaw118 when we spotted this 944 parked up in London's posh Kensington. Devin Townsend at Albert Hall before you ask. This Vitesse was parked outside Gaydon in May when I was up there for the UK Slotfest. Looks so good in red, only ever seen them in muted colours before. Spotted this 924S up a side road in SE London, showing all the signs of being in regular use. Looked tiny next to the pick up. Dungeness Ford Probe. These appear to be ageing well, first one I've ever given a second look. Another Vitesse. Heroic Driveway in Walthamstow. Cornish Calibra. Couldn't tell you the last time I saw one, where did they all go? Spotted a matching Tigra too but couldn't get the camera out quick enough before it drive off. Not sure what this geometric beauty was but it had a three pointed star on the front. A pair of chods looking neglected. The Micra in particular had some excellent patina developing. inconsistant
Transit camper spotted in B&Q car Park AX that looks like it's had a Peter Griffin style stroke Cornish Volvo 340 Cornish left hand drive bASe Rover R8. Convertible 3 Series. Haven't seen one of these for a while. Nice! Jaguar or Daimler, dunno. A lovely colour & light leather interior looks proper posh in a way modern interiors just don't. Lovely Fiat 128. Quite a late one I'd guess, didn't think these sold much into the 80s. Honda Insight, and below with another funky 90s Japanese sports car. What a fab front garden. This is definitely how I'd own a Mk1 Escort. Can you imagine how full his paper recycling bin is each week from all the notes popped through his letterbox! Corolla that probably just needs a wipe down with a damp cloth and it'll be fine Nissan KIX. Or maybe that should be K9? This looked lovely, shame I couldn't get a better shot of it. Not many cars can pull off green but the Fiat Coupe definitely does! LT84, Dyslexic Viking, LightBulbFun and 3 others

inconsistant
Time to update with my 2023 chod bothering antics. First up, some hedge bound US chod: A decent looking Rover 25 that's used daily: Who doesn't like a PAO! Especially a slightly tatty one in Deptford. A proper Mini. A proper Audi Herald What I think must be a late model Alpine. Hadn't seen one of these before, a bit bonkers looking but very likeable. A Beetle looking like how Beetles of this age should look. Lovely Micra I see daily in the station car park. Looks tiny next to all the over sized blah blah... Another proper Audi, but weirder. A Prius on steels. Superb! Renault 5 Old Rover Nice looking Corolla. These have recently been upgraded from bland and forgettable to mildly interesting. inconsistant
This was at the Scalextric Festival at Gaydon last May, because Scalextric bought out a Scalextric version of it. There's this place near Horsham called Moto Torque Cafe. Been there a few times, sometimes there's good stuff, sometimes it's just instagram posers in modern BMWs and Audis with stickers all over the windows videoing each other. Here's the best stuff: Beautiful green DS and a factory SWB rally DS Corolla Granadas Proper 911 Some Italian cars: 911 and a works Le Mans raced Triumph TRS: Three Speed
inconsistant
Here's die chodsen spotted in Switzerland last summer. Another Corolla: All Vauxhalls are shit Opels Minor Some proper shite up in the mountain. This one was odd. Thought it was a Golf estate with a Bora front but the back says Bora so either they sell them like this on the continent or someone was bored: Some top notch mountain chod Lovely Audi. Parked up with the keys in. Was tempted. A mildly barried VW Jetta Dyslexic Viking

inconsistant
Obvs we drove through France in both directions to get to Switzerland but didn't spot much as we were on motorways most of the time. A couple of Citroens from opposite ends of the model range in Alsace: Parked outside the National Car Museum/Schlumpf Collection in Mulhouse, not selling coffee. https://www.musee-automobile.fr/en/ An outstanding museum, an absolute must see if you're in SE France. Twingo We struggled to get past this 2cv on the Autoroute, it was absolutely caning it along obviously on a mission to get somewhere! Been absolutely ages since I've seen on of these Passats. I'd pretty much forgotten they existed. FIN. Dyslexic Viking
