Adrian_pt
Wow! That 504 is by far and away my fave - top spots!
mk2_craig
Considering those 2-door Cortinas are supposed to be so rare, they crop up in spots on here and on Ebay suspiciously often. Still, at least they don't suffer from Escort rally car tax.

A W-plater would have been a "regular" production model, and therefore more rare - I'm pretty sure the X/Y-plate 2 doors are all 1.6 auto Motability jobs.Where was the 504 GLD? CortinaDave
2 door mk5s are pretty damn rare - i know they only built 400 odd in 1982 so in total probably only 1500 or so. not many surviveMk4 2 doors much more rare tho - less than 10 left. mk2_craig
Sorry for the post hijack. Saw this last year. I always have a slightly uneasy feeling about rare cars parked next to oval circuits, that in some way their fate is sealed.
Simon M
DVLA has that down as unlicenced, which is rather worrying......
CortinaDave
looks suspiciously like a buysellcortina.co.uk sticker in the back window... which should mean a sympathetic owner. Theres a racer on there that has a red two door mk4 but he wouldnt dream of bangering it. Prob the same one!

mk3dave
Right. Confession time! Sorry to hi-jack, I've been a bit of a lurker here for quite a while, but this is the second one of my cars thats cropped up now, so i thought i'd best say hello! Thats my mk4 in that photo, currently under going a full bare metal resto, as its proper rotten! Thought it worth saving tho, as it is damn rare! I'll do a proper hello in another post as i got plenty of scrapyard photos and plenty of previous and present shite, and a few spottings to put up!
