dollywobbler
Anyone for an Austin Ambassador Y-reg? I'm not selling - but I've spoken to the chap who is. Has been off the road since 2008, but seems surprisingly solid. 185,000 miles, so it's pretty well used. 2.0HLS auto. Doesn't look too bad underneath. A plate needed here before too long. Front passenger sill. Usual Ambassador rear window rot. This is the worst side. Patina The chap seems realistic about value - a couple of hundred quid. He has a vast stash of parts available by separate negotiation. He reckons about £700 worth, but he's not had much joy flogging them. Includes a set of doors already painted green. He's owned it from almost new - demonstrator then himself. The paintwork is utterly ruined. The lacquer has gone big time. The car is located about 15 miles inland of Aberystwyth. Contact me in the first instance. I've driven past this thing a ridiculous number of times and would love to save it. I just can't at the moment, but can you? Feel free to spread the word. I really want this to find a good home, and so does the owner.

vulgalour
As tempting as an Ambassador is to compliment the Princess, this one's not for me. However, I've passed the details over to the Princess forum with a link back here so maybe someone on there will have a punt on it.

Station
My dad had an Ambassador in gold.I always thought it looked like a Commodore Amiga 500 mouse: It's exactly the same shape.
vulgalour
Once it has been seen it cannot be unseen! I'm off to glue buttons onto the roofs of Ambassadors now.
fordnut
I remember this car being on the road when I lived in Aberstwyth and it was driven by an old boy and his wife. It was extremely tidy back then C.2001 to 2005
dollywobbler
Aye. Was chosen for a convoy of BMC/BL stuff after MG Rover collapsed apparently. Such a shame as a total respray seems to be the only answer now.
