Cavcraft
The legend that is Dave Angel was based on Mike Read I believe, as was 'Cockney Wanker' in Viz. Not bought Viz in a while so don't know if CW is still in it but it was a blindingly funny cartoon.

Father Ted
Loft Hatch started out like this....And after 13 years climbing up stepladders through a small hole I finally chopped a big one in with ladders....Just put the Hornby layout up there now in all its glory. Marvelous. My APT can tilt to its hearts content.
Richard
Where did you get the catch? The crappy plastic one that came with our loft ladder has just expired and your one looks much sturdier.
Father Ted
B&Q, just a standard metal catch. I have one on the boiler cupboard too. The weight of the ladders are taken mostly upon the springs bolted to the frame, so there is very little weight on the door / catch.......

Father Ted
Not much of an update, sorry, but then not been up to much this last month. Yesterday took a walk into Brig to watch Preston stuff Burnley ( which at least made up for North End being twhatted by Liverpool) and spotted these lovelies... 55bloke
I was obviously not paying colse enough attention back in the day, but I don't think I've ever seen a 2 door Mk 4/5 before. Were they common?
Pete-M
I was obviously not paying colse enough attention back in the day, but I don't think I've ever seen a 2 door Mk 4/5 before. Were they common? Not common as they were only available in the UK in poverty spec 1.3 and 1.6s. In Germany you could get a Mk3 2000E 2 door - I always wanted one of them. The Krauts also got posh Mk4/5s. Here's one It's €4000 and in Switzerland, but I found one

Guest
I dont think theres any standard 5 GT turbos left, more than probably any car they all seem to have fallen into the hands of those who cant just leave things alone. though that one could might be a souped up 1400 I suppose. Its like the Escort RS turbo, if a stock standard one ever turns up it'll be worth like 2 billion pounds.
