Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth - Work Begins

SambaS

Hello guys, you've probably heard me harping on about wanting one, anyways. I'd like to see one in every colour with name if anyone knows.

I'll start with this. I think it's called Nouveau red:

Oh yeah, anyone got a brochure with a colour chart in?

Talking of crystal blue this is for sale minus engine and running gear..

6 months too early for me to consider offering £500.... although it's value is probably closer to £1000.

That Crystal Blue is gorgeous. Seems odd that red was so rare given how prevalent it was at the time. Doesn't really suit the Cossie though.

I don't know why I was suprised to see so much rust on an old Ford:

But this video has opened my eyes, I'm so glad I saw it, because I wouldn't want to be repairing all those areas on a £3000+ car

Smokestone Blue

Flint Gray

Gloss/ Ebony Black

or Mercury Gray

...in that order for me. Any other colour would be a compromise but I still would if it was the right price and condition.

Have we missed any?

Is the GLS the highest spec down from a Cosworth then? Nice looking car that :)

sambas spec wise the ghia is the next one down from cosworth due to the heated windscreen, 4x electric windows, graphic info module with warning lights, footwell and map lights, electric sunroof these are features the gls didn't get,

I prefer the look of the gls to the ghia though :D

My dad bought a E reg maritime blue Escort 1.3 L Estate from Trimoco Chelmsford around 1991 time, I remember looking at all the new Sapphires in the showroom at the time. A little useless fact there for you.

cool I love snippets of history, I bought the saph off an old boy from Chelmsford who worked at trimoco as a salesman, he sold the sapphire when it was brand new to his son, then when the car was a few years old and his son wanted a new car so the old boy bought it from him then had many happy years motoring until his daughter insisted that he gets a modern car, when we went to get the car we had a brew and a great chat with the old boy about old fords, I felt guilty driving it away as he had a lump in his throat to see it go

your useless info is repaid with a bit of my own
