Lazy spotters thread

Very lazy spot, I didn't even leave the driver's seat. I'd be surprised if these haven't featured before, they have been there for at least 7 years and probably longer.

It looks like the idea was to make one good Cortina from two, but the project stalled soon after conception. Both are too far gone for anything except the odd (plastic) part

I always look out for these when in the area, the vegetation has been cut back a lot since I last passed as you could hardly see them. The Maestro a few doors down had gone but I think there is a Scimitar also in the same road. Always worth the detour. A shame to see them in this state but far better than the fate many others suffered, I hope they are there for many more years. I suspect by the state of the house that they have a very elderly owner.

A selection from  my Italy roadtrip.

First stop was in London and spotted these in Chelsea.

No Photos of anything interesting on the way, so first up at our hotel in Boario Terme, this magnificent pair.

IMG_9950.thumb.JPEG.cfdcab4c909d63fd8fab9c19a2fe043c.JPEG

Cheating with the next two  as they were friends along for the trip. However the GTV is prime AS material.

The 205 is hiding a secret- a Turbo Lancia Zeta engine. Bonus floppytop Astra in the background.

The lesser spotted Diesel Jimny

and also the lesser spotted Justy

Two approches to 4WD- take your pick.

Three uncommon sights outside of Italy

Not exactly AS material, but the 'Garage' amused me.

Next few are from Cortina D'Ampezzo, which is a bit of a tourist trap. Still some interesting sights, including this lovely P6

IMG_0135.thumb.JPEG.6110c2fb3acdb4bf3f60c989cb96951c.JPEG

and this also lovely 203, which looked to be well used despite being in mint condition.

On the road down to a decent Pizza place we spotted this lurking outside an architecturally interesting garage, a real contrast in size. The Range Rover only has 54K on it- Petrol too.

We went back a couple of days later and took a closer look and found this very sorry 145

and a real, but shagged, Cossie. Oh and a Panda 4x4 but those are everywhere.

On my way back I parked next to this tidy Puma in Reims

With some time to kill before the Chunnel I stopped at a very closed French Seaside town.

Spotted on the M69 - DTM-spec Astra. Offside wheelarch flapped in the breeze. Was being driven slowly (though not necessarily well) probably because of wet roads and 300+ wide tyres.

Terrible pic, but it's horrible out there today.

Would love to know this story, who/why etc. Lots of effort.

Cracking photos. I didn't realise a derv Jimny was even a thing. Good to see a new shape example in the wild too - I wonder if prices over there are as crazy as ours.

Good to see another MR2 Roadster owner on here - what's the spec? Apologies if you've already said somewhere else!

They had the Renault 1.5, but only in LHD.

The MR2 is mostly converted to a 2ZZ setup- I was still working on it the morning I left!

Small world!  Surprising given the age of the plate that 17 and 71 are both still out there.

XANxxxA was never issued in period so both XAN71A and XAN17A will have been private registration marks from the get go :)

only a few County councils issued A suffix plates in period and none got as high as the X serial letter,

for example AN allocated to London (West Ham), and they where only up to YANxxx to xxxBAN in 1963 :)

the question is, how many Xantias has XAN71A been on!
