Lazy spotters thread

Im currently in Germany visiting parents. They decided to take a "shortcut" which enabled me to take some photos of some of the more interesting stuff you can still find in traffic every single day from the backseat. Especially early to mid 90s Mazdas which sold here very well are still a relatively common sight. Golf Mk2/3, Mk2 Polos and Audi 80s are still everywhere as well, not even taking photos of them anymore. At this point I think Dodge Rams are more popular than a large chunk of the car that were actually sold here officially, you see multiple of them every single day.

Convertible could be an XR3 if the number plate is to be believed, that Caprice and 626 Coupe with questionable mods are the more interesting spots.

Well yesterday led me down a bit of a rabbit hole:

P1090657.thumb.JPG.6b6eea79cbd081f23b8332b25c940a8b.JPG

I went into this modern-ish housing estate to turn around and saw this: a 205 XRAD van...

P1090662.thumb.JPG.5594d440ab492ca141efc321ba1dee88.JPG

...then I spotted another interesting, and much sadder looking, van - this time a Vauxhall Combo. And in trying to take a photo of this one I found something that Autoshite was made for...

P1090660.thumb.JPG.59f12b6f111a83ad736795702649cd63.JPG

Apparently this was last on the road in 1993 - and boy does it look it. Absolutely love that this still survives.

These thankfully also still survive. I approve of the Coventry registered 405, complete with 'Peugeot' branded plates - maybe it was registered straight from the factory?

Then a Dollar-might...

...and a rather late Austin 2200 Automatic. Whilst they were pretty advanced for their day, I can imagine these feeling rather dated compared to that Maxi.

A Toyota... thing.

P1090672.thumb.JPG.8d47de9bd3709061659ae6d8928cc9d4.JPG

A... yeah, I've got absolutely no clue. Sierra?

A first generation Capri in a hedge

And finally a driveway of three Granadas (plus a KA that's blocking them). The green one is a pickup would you believe - didn't actually know they did those!

From the South Wales Car Show at Chepstow Racecourse on Sunday. Not a lot of AS worthy stuff there (a row of Kia Stingers anyone?) but enough to make it worth the walk around.

A couple of big Mercs including a 500SEL AMG with TV, stereo and drinks cabinet in the back, a nice place to relax as you blast down the Autobahn.

Some interesting Polish stuff arrived while we were there including an FSO pickup with camper conversion and an FSC Zuk.

Two of the best cars were in the car park.

There was a Trabant meet in my town so I've seen plenty of those, only took one photo though. There was a Wartburg there as well. Plenty of Lada Nivas around as well plus the other odd Soviet car. There are definitely a few you can spot on a normal day.

I look forward to doing some car spotting in Europe once the Covid situation is over. A friend of mine spotted some great chod in Berlin a few years ago:

3-speed automatic, and bubbling paintwork, lovely....

If you look in Streetview, it’s been parking in that street since at least 2008, looks to have been resprayed around ten years ago too.
