fotorabia
Initial plan was to drive to Ballarat..100kms...but due to heatwave insomia and tiredness on the highway which is usually fatal...i pulled off after 30kms at Bacchaus Marsh...the fruit n vegetable-wheat farms that supply Melbourne.I wasnt really expecting very much..quiet wealthy rural affair..the people rather uhm..Aussie...and not used to seing some tattooed freak in an old Merc armed with a camera...i bought a vintage sleeping bag from the Salvo Army..and was just gonna wait the heat out and then go home..however...shite was to be found in abundance..warning contains Heavy Merc Shite Porno.. Teutonic haters stop reading now...A Big Truck whilst buying sunglasses id forgotten. An even bigger tow truck.Typical Aussie breakfast when I arrived. The first two utes I spotTypical shagged out Ford Capri..truly shitefull.. then the first miracle..2nd hand car sales yard..i spot a headlightless W123..so wander in..OMG...not only that...but the Greek Aussie owner has five W123-300Ds for sale.I had to sit down...he admitted he cant sell them..The locals completely disinterested in them. The owner of the yards daily 250SE If it wasnt for the fact that Im about to have two 300Ds..more on that when photographed..id happily give him $3k for the lot and i bet u he would accept..theyve been sitting there 5 years. The old town is becoming a new town...their building 26000 new houses...so on my meander up past the industrial area I came across a closed down panel beaters. Who ordered the big Mack. Lost..but hey..story of my life..the aged still discovering. And now...i win Autoshite Spot of The Luxury Year with this yard of glorious crud.... And here we have it...MB 300SEL 6.3...and potentially another one..i couldnt believe it... So i was so overcome by my shitespots..and this isnt all of it..its to hot to pump out the rest..I eventually thru my lostieness found the orginal town swimming hole in the Werribee River..unused since 1938Wading around knee deep with my camera...dragonflies..wierd larvae thingies...no leeches and cockatoos in the trees...i was in shite heaven.I chilled until it cooler then sped off back home. Junkman
This could well be a 6.9 going by the holes for an emblem in the RH corner of the bootlid.

Well no locals were ever eaten by the freshwater crayfish [yabbies] up until 1938...and damn it....this heat is relentless so i took the risk...at 1am last night...i jumped in the car ..bought ice cream and went to the beach..and im loving the fact that Aussies are blind to the quality of W123s just now...i benefit.... Split_Pin
Always enjoy your updates! It looks like a great place to be, all we have here at the moment is snow, ice and salt - shite Love the big old rusty Mack truck. Looks like its just run someone over 'Maximum Overdrive' style and is looking for its next victim!

KruJoe
Another great set, Rab. Brilliant as always. If I ever have the misfortune* to live in Oz, life could be made more bearable by having a daily like this:Whoever dreamed up the T-top Brumby was on to a winner. -also- Is this a Holden (Isuzu) KB next to the Astina? KB's are phit as phuq. Phakt.
