Lobster, those models are coming in on the 5th right? so a week today.......?

Probably a week tomorrow actually. I need to go pick 'em up and won't get chance til Tuesday 6th. Will let you know once I have them though.
Many thanks lobster. Also, I have to terminate my ebay account soon i swear, to stop me leaking money, i won another ford transcontinental earlier for the pricely sum of £3, which is confusing, as its guinness livery, and even the tractor units alone usually sell for £8.My other conti is abit of a misnomer really, its michelin for sure but doesnt have the white base the others have? Its black, and isnt a respray as its done 'too well', well considering how the previous owner painted it elsewhere, id consider that beyond him.now i have a job, heres hoping i dont end up collecting real cars in the same means.we shall see.

Owning obscure tat can have its disadvantages. I've found that Lumnyo (Norev) do models of the Piazza in 1:43 scale. They do the Asso Di Fiori, the XE, the Irmschers, the Rinspeed concept car......but not the bloody European spec Turbo!I may well order the ADF and XE in Hyper Silver. There is a 1:40 scale model of the Celeste, but I'm hoping someone like Ebbro will pick it up. Last time I checked Diapet had a go in the seventies, and sellers in Indonesia and SE Asia want upwards of $100 for them now :(

One of the gran turismo games featured a piazza, and its probably the only time i will ever drive one.Its really annoying having all the more interesting cars limited in model form to the expensive manufacturers, I really want a Cortina MKIV model, but the only one is white metal and costs £60.As far as cars that would be relevant to my life, the Sierra we had is the only non modelled one, a MK2 hatchback with the orange indicator lenses and not the black rear lights. Legacy MK1 estate has never and probably will never, although vanguards are making a saloon version.Impreza estate has less chance than either of the above, i mean come on, of all the Imprezas to model, a 1.8 GL estate must be pretty low down the list.....

Heres my collection at the moment, excuse the rubbish pictures.

The completed 80s corgi collection:

Posted Image

These have been fun to collect, and they remind me most of my childhood, even when i was younger this era had past, but i corgi always meant better quality to me.

The '70s' Display

I tried to make this all vehicles youd see back then, but obviously its a guess as i didnt live then.

And finally, late 80s display.

Again, just trying to make it full of cars back then. The 2 rows in the back dont fit in with anything at the moment.....

Note godawful repaint on the Transcontinental. Yes thats yellow rear windows....

There's a bit about one of these on page 6

I nearly wet myself when I got one of these for 20 quid at a toy fair a few years ago. Never moved so fast in my life. it was late in the day too which made it even more bizarre it was still there

Knew I should have googled instead of relying on EBay  This is money though

Not on eBay yet as they haven't been released. Should be out soon though! It's a lovely model though, had a good look at a preproduction model a few months back at a Corgi open day and it really is nice.

Has anyone made a non-rally Lotus Sunbeam yet? I quite fancy a black and silver one if it exists...

IXO have done one in their Simca partwork range. I've got it so will be interested to see how it compares with the Corgi one!EDIT: being that I already have one identical to the Corgi one in the picture, albeit LHD with French plates, I'm actually more keen for Corgi to do a basic GL or GLS model & also a 1600Ti as they are yet to be done being overlooked for the glamorous Lotus version.

fair enough! You got much new lately? I swear theres a postal strike on somewhere round here, we have had nothing the past 2 days, and thats rare. And following the topic of conversation, Im also hoping Corgi dont just do the Lotus version, as id love a base model. Looks like theyre doing a lesser model for the police car though.......

They have announced three Sunbeams - McRae, Lotus and Plod versions. Should be getting to see Corgis 2010 releases in three weeks or so, so will beinteresting to see what will be out next year.Anyway, I know not many people around these parts tend to collect 1/76 scale stuff, which is a pity as between October and next February Oxford Diecast have some interesting stuff coming out -Mk3 Capri in Professionals colurs + red + whiteEscort XR3i in three coloursVW T2 campers (which whilst not everyones cup of tea should sell well!)Also new before Christmas1/18 rubber bumper MGBs by Universal Hobbies1/43 Vauxhall Vectra Lancashire Police (+ Met Police version early 2010) by Schuco.

looks good, alot better than it would with soldiers on it anyway.I have another cabinet full of boring stuff, like 10 year old partwork models, but its small and has a door, which isnt really brilliant for displays. Might shun the lesser ones in there though, when space gets tight. What vanguard models you on the look out for now then?I see you got a triumph 2000, same one as mine, except mine has the old style of packaging, but a really nice model.

They have yes, but its slightly rare and so is overpriced.Howabout a Sierra? or an SD1?TR7?Yeh Avenger models will probably go down in price soonish..... if i ever chance upon a model youre wanting on buy it now( and its cheap) i could always buy it and then you could pay me for it? Because im always on ebay.Just an idea however! That escort MK1 you have, ive never seen that one before.

I picked up the escort and the Morris Oxford for a combined £15 off a bloke at an autojumble, which was nice. The Escort appealed as it looked nicely 'balanced' - skinny tyres, non-sporting. The Mexico ones look wrong due to the narrow wheels and high tyre sidewall. The Oxford is the same colours as the one that was a 'family heirloom' through the 60's and 70's.

the only one i have from a show is that austin 1800 hidden treasures, which the guy reduced to £8 for me because i made conversation. Nice chap.My escort police car looks alright..... but i got sent the wrong spotlights with it. Oh well too late, glued in.But yeh, those 2 models you mention would have been up for alot more on ebay, even the more common MKI escorts go for £9 plus, and the Morris Oxfords are bought up because people convert them to banger racing models.Ironic that....
