Hey 55bloke, was your model 25 an Altaya? Because mines full blown IXO i think......

yes the blue edition is the Altaya partwork release, the dark red the proper IXO retail release. They've done the same with the Peugeot 505 (Altaya = white, IXO = grey) Citroen AX (Altaya = red or blue, IXO = white) Renault 9 (Altaya = dk blue, IXO = gold) and probably some others too :)

Hmmm... not 100% sure! I thought it was IXO, and it sure looks like the same model, just a different colour.

It will be the same model. IXO use the Altaya brand name for the stuff that goes in part work collections and so on. They are exactly the same model apart from colour. The expensive version is IXO branded and comes in a nice box, the cheaper / partwork version is Altaya branded and only in plastic case.

Kinda related, Mrs Ash just presented me with this:

(Sorry for the crap pics, Mrs Ash also bought me an incredibly complex camera that I am yet to get to grips with)

Chuffed, one of my favourite drivers of evah, local lad made good. And he got to shag Pamela Anderson. Hope he was wearing his helmet on that occasion or he'd have permanent black eyes!

Hi guys. I came across this site a couple of days ago and had to join.

This is my collection of models. I've turned a summer house located at the back of my garden into a little museum. My camera is not great but the pictures are hopefully clear enough:

I've got one of those Astramax vans somewhere, they're really quite a nice model. I must have bought it about the time they came out and mine has been sat for years and years stripped ready for pinting to BT or Royal Mail livery. Yet another that I never got round to  Same goes for the Lion Toys Leyland DAF 400 which are also now quite rare.

Ona another note, I very rarely buy 1:18 models as I just don't have the space but this might just break the rules, it's the Sun Star RS1600i. I was going to get the standard GL version but I'm glad I waited. Ought to do it sooner rather than later as it might end up acquiring the OMG OSF scene tax that other recent 80s Ford models have....

Here's a pre-prod pic of that Vanguarsd MkIV Cortina by the way. I shall definitely need to have one of these.

The Golf looks pretty crisp too. It'll be a straight fight between this and Minichamps one as they should both appear quite close to each other. I'd like to think after the lengthy wait the Minichamps will be faultless and that's where my money will probably go...but we'll see!

I'm really hoping the Minichamps Mk1 Golf and the Vanguards Mk1 Golf don't come out as the same time as each other - got a lot of them on order and the thought of having a lot of the same model by two manufacturers at two different prices isn't a very appealing one.I'd expect that the Minichamps one should be superior though.

holy shit i wanna come to your house and play, what a awesome collection and welcome to AS

now what do you drive

:D

By all means pop over for a look. Not sure about a play!

My daily is a W123 Mercedes 230E and my toy is a Mk2 Toyota MR2.

Welcome Peter.

Thats a very very impressive collection.

Who makes the black p38 Range Rover in the bottom of the display case? And is that a 60 or 80 series TLC next to it?

The museum is separated from my house by 150ft of garden that is currently under a foot of snow.

I will check who makes the P38.

What do you mean by 60 or 80 series regarding the Land Cruiser?

Hi Peter, thats a very impressive collection. I am deeply impressed!

BTW, the Golf GTi and Lancia Delta in the plastic pack are 1/24 scale, not 1/18

Agreed!

How long have you been collecting for ?

Thats an impressive lot

I started collecting about 4 years ago. When the collection became too big for my spare room I shifted the whole lot into the summer house. Whilst I would buy most models if they were cheap enough, I am mainly interested in 1970s and 80s run of the mill European cars – typical Autoshite stuff!

Wow that's awesome! I love all the eastern european stuff, found some of those on the 'bay recently but they are pretty expensive. I'd love one of those 603s and the skoda one day....

The eastern-European stuff is expensive and quite rare.

I have Russian made models of a Lada Samara, Moskvitch and Volgas.

I have family in Poland, who continue to supply me with current releases of old-skool eastern-European cars. The collection includes FSOs, Ladas, Skodas, Trabants, Wartbugs, Tatras, GAZs, UAZs, Dacias, Zaparozhets... and more! I am expecting a delivery of another 6 models this weekend! They are well detailed and nicely made. Each comes with a 10 page brochure (in Polish).

Hey these are quite cool if a bit of an odd scale. By Welly:

I’ve got a couple of those! Quite nice for not much cash.

Hey Peter, how many models do you have?

I’ve lost count, but I have thousands of models. In 2009 I sold a box of stuff via EBay to a model car dealer, who had a good look at my collection and valued it at £7-10k.
