66 Plymouth Fury.

I particularly like the way the gearshift position indicator is illuminated via light from the odometer hole; you cannot see the source in the car, the steering is in the way.

Main beam is a funny shade of purple, and very dim.

Yup, this car is before you got symbols for anything.

i think it was posh ones that got those lights

Interesting.  My father's A plate one with them was as basic as basic got I thought.  Didn't even have a clock in the dash or side indicator repeaters (had orange reflectors instead).

It didn't have lighting on the accessory switches though which this one does (and that now works again).

Sadly I've had to label the dash lighting as "will come back to that" as I'd forgotten that on the Mark I that you need to unbolt the whole binnacle from under the dash to get into it.  Of course being a BL product there are things in the way of that being a 30 second job!

I've finally replaced all the previous owners horrible green LEDs in the T25 with good old incandescent bulbs, ready for my dark winter commutes.

Mega fog today, pretty cold too. Plodding along with heater going in weather like this is a lot more pleasing than it has any right to be. I really love winter.

Looks good!  Shouldn’t they be green though like other VW’s from that era?!
