Split_Pin
Looks like they have a mega amount of tat in there!
Mr Lobster
Some very interesting stuff in there and pleasing to see that Australian scrapyards have as much mud as ours do! Not sure I'd be overly happy on going under a car supported only by steel wheels though...
Wilko220
Wow! Some sad (but very interesting) sights there... Paging PaykanHunter!
Tayne
Very interesting mix in there, I've never seen those early Nissan Patrols before.I like the fact that there seems to have been some attempt to group it all alphabetically by manufacturer. fotorabia
Public holiday of everyone betting on a horse whilst I decided to burn diesel off and go visit a yard flogging dead horsepower.. As I was leaving..old European boy pulls up in this..230E on lpg..had to explain there were no W123s left...
fotorabia
The Minor was cool..$1500..the Beetle $1200..the Land Rover no brakes $850..and the J1-2 Bedford truck that is completely unwanted in the fron car park i love..
Cavcraft
I can't believe how rot free so many of those cars/their panels look, if that was blighty you'd be weeping them up with a dustpan and brush by now. There must be a fiortune to be made by taking some air tools into that yard, cutting off various body panels and exporting them.
Jon
Hey Rab, glad you're prospering over the ditch. Great updates as always, though what's the white ute with WATERCOOLED on the windscreen? The nearest I can think of is a Mazda Bongo but I reckon it's something else... As always, if you come across a chromed VB Commodore SL grille, I'd be very interested. In return, if you get really stuck for any MB spares, I'm only a short trip away from http://www.mercworxs.co.nz/index.html and I know they have a fair few W123s in their yard. nigel bickle
Datsun Homy. I think I very nearly imported one, couple of years back.. Sadly 2 inchs too tall
michiel
I think it's a Prince Homer, although given the Datsun-Prince connection it may well have been badged as a Datsun.... Edit due to me being wrongish, d'oh!: After the Nissan/Prince merger the Prince Homer became the Datsun Homer, and was sold in Japan as the Nissan Homer. The T641 Homer was powered by a single carb version of the Datsun Fairlady 1600's 1595cc 4 cyl. R series engine that produced 81hp. Very early T641 Homers use the old style Prince steering and suspension components, most have a lighter Nissan designed running gear. Datsun Homers have the 'cat's whiskers' grille, Prince Homers have 8 large oval slots for a grille

worldofceri
Great shots. I too am amazed by the lack of rust. Especially the Beetle. I can't imagine there's a single one in a breaker's here, not that I've looked.
CortinaDave
Wow I wish UK scrapyards were filled with tat as interesting as that. Makes me weep to see how straight some of those scrapped cortinas are. I spend my life geting an arse welded and re welded into the shittyexamples that I can still buy here, where over in Oz rustfree shells get weighed in. I need to move there! I seem to remember a thread from a couple of years back with an aussie scrapyard that featured what looked to be a completely showroom condition white SD1 3.5 with low miles. binned, on top of another car and worth not a sausage. argh! Mash
I seem to have missed this thread first time around. The Japanese cars are obviously of great interest to me especially the relatively rot free Toyota Corona RT40s and that lime green 610 Bluebird. The Mitsubishi L200 pick-up is ace, they're virtually extinct in the UK - I only know of one surviving example.
STUNO
ooooof... the white Cortina (second Cortina photo) has a 4.1 litre motor showing.I wish there was somewhere like that around here. we have 8' fences and you go to the counter and ask for the part, no fun at all!
