Austat
I was curious if the Princesses in the European adverts were actually UK reg cars, the cars are on UK plates but are LHD. First off this early N-reg model from a German advert: JWR 803N is on a Red Alfa Romeo so a fake plate just for show. KUK 861P as seen in this french advert is on an Austin, so perhaps a genuine plate? The car is stated as being Red so could of been repainted later on it's life... ..., until you see the engine size, so again a plate just for show. vulgalour, Shite Ron, Richard_FM and 1 other

phil_lihp
@lesapandre spotted CSE826T (I think) languishing in Spain, a 2.0 series 2 by the look of it - not on the DVLA so has been out of the UK for most of its life most likely. https://www.milanuncios.com/venta-de-coches-clasicos/austin-princess-2-000cc-95625842.htm? lesapandre
Car has been in an accident - so not really salvageable. Holiday crash maybe.
vulgalour
As mentioned in the other thread, the crash looks to have missed all the important structural bits so if you were really determined you probably could restore that. Finding the parts would be difficult of course, though full rear quarters and rear panels do come up occasionally, the fuel tank would be the hardest thing to replace. Pie in the sky, all the same, it's only ever going to be a parts donor now. lesapandre
steved40
I don't know if you are interested (or if anyone is for that matter), but my Aunt and Uncle owned JHG460N, a blue Morris 1800, in the late seventies and early eighties. Sadly, it didn't survive and its last tax disc ran out on 1st June 1987. Sorry, but I don't have any pictures. adw1977 and vulgalour

jonny69
Do we know about this one? Egham/Staines area. YPG 145T Scuse the soft focus, I was [insert reasons] Edit: ok, I’ve worked out how this thread works now. It’s on the wedgister. Pretty sure the car has moved since the photo entry because I don’t recognise the previous house with the two parking spaces. I’ll wander down and take another look but I’m pretty sure it’s not the same place. vulgalour and Shite Ron
vulgalour
Thread is a bit... clunky... tried to make it work as well I can within the limitations, it's not really what a forum is set up to handle. Nice spot. LightBulbFun
LightBulbFun
did a bit finagling and managed to figure out the original UK registrations of the 2 ROI hearses 81D1679 was OCP88X and 81WW309 was RWK555W (OCP88X has no export marker however RWK555W was marked exported on the 2nd of the 10th 1995) as a side note im pretty sure 79DI200 is 79D1200 (you have the one as the letter I) sadly cant seem to figure out what its original english reg is (assuming it had one! could have been imported from somewhere else!) hope this helps or is interesting etc! LightBulbFun
side note XEV847X is now wearing the VRM TBK96S little bit strange this one since TBK-S looks to be an age related/re-registration series, but the above is still registered as a 1981 vehicle so its not like someone had it declared manufactured 1978 and the DVLA gave them an age related plate, or if thats the case then the DVLA forgot to update the year of mfg record! perhaps the guy just managed to buy the reg before it got given as an age related plate to some import/re-reg jobby however its date of last v5c issued and date of plate change line up with when the DVLA where issuing this registration series... stumbled across it by chance the reg caught my eye for Invacar reasons while I was idly through the records, shoved it into the DVLA checker where it turned up nout which I thought was a bit strange because knowing how the DVLA computer system works almost all vehicles registered around or after 1979-1980ish will still show up on the DVLA checker to this day, and if they dont theres a good reason for it, so I had a feeling XEV847X might have been re-regged so shoved it into the special tool and what do ya know LOL HMC and vulgalour

jonny69
Here are a few more pics of YPG that I posted about a while back. Yeah, hasn’t moved for a while. Tyres are flat and it’s well grown in. Looking a bit sorry for itself and probably has a bit of a bleak future. michael t, Mr Laurence and vulgalour
phil_lihp
Borrowed from the Princess owner Facebook group... You'll have to guess the last digit though. Not sure about the side stripes and wonky fog lights, mind you the SD1's vinyl roof is an odd look too. A black vinyl roof on a white SD1 is not a good look but was the popular way to cover the holes in the roof from the lights and wiring of an ex. police car. vulgalour
The give away on PPH being an X is that it's a Princess 3 as evidenced by the door mirrors and the Austin-Rover grille badge. I've been plugging away at this offline, getting all the info together to update the listings online, so once again thank you to everyone that's added content here, I do see it and I am listing it, it's just taking me a while to get through it all.
