Very nice it is too Good interior detail Skidplate is a lovely touch too I'm hoping one of the next ones will be something I own, so I can compare old and new It's a cracking little model, that. My second Corgi Club Mini touched down the other day; I feel a bit bad punting it on via eBay, but it appears that I have a habit to feed... The next model in the range is apparently the Volvo P1800, as used in the original TV version of 'The Saint'. I just got an email this evening to tell me it's on the way. I did have a ropey original version of this one sourced at a jumble sale - and because I was ten at the time, I repainted it with Tipp-Ex and fitted Lego tyres to replace the missing originals. It looked about as good as you might imagine from the description. Looking forward to receiving this one - though there seems to be a bit of uproar on the Corgi Club Facebook page about the decision to make the bonnet decal look artificially aged... Nice models, though. 12 hours ago, bunglebus said: That oversprayed RO80 from the other week cleaned up nicely Fantastic work! The Husky Ro80 is a lovely looking little thing - well saved! I always felt the seating arrangement was wrong, it looks more people carrier size to me, so this has a scratch built interior including inner arches, seats out of several Minis and dashboard out of the spares box - silver for that space age vibe. Pink inserts in the seats go well with the pink pearl which really pops in the sun. Doesn't photograph well though. Lots of lowering and wheels off a pull-back car Another cracker - that's a total transformation, and those wheels look stunning on it. I did try cleaning the grey paint off the RO80 but the original blue was quite chipped underneath. It was a really easy resto though, just stripped and repainted it, no nasty casting lines to deal with. Hardest part was refitting the axles under the wire suspension without damaging anything. I do like the Mini Bus now, it's a bit of a marmite casting but I thought I could improve it a bit Burnside
Lord Sterling
Here a couple of MGBGTTEEGEEBEEGEEEMs: One is a Matchbox 1.43 and the other a Hongwell 1.43. I must say, apart from the grille and wheels, there is really a lot that seperates them. In fact, the Hongwell has cheaper wheels, a bit more plastic chrome, a cheap looking numberplate and er...thats it... its nicer than I thought it was going to be and thus stays outside on display with with GT. A Smart 1.18 idea? Now this is a really nicely detailed Smart. The body panels are actually plastic and removable of you wanted to change the colour. Non of this stripping back paint and re-painting (yaaa boo 😛 😂) The interior isn't overly detailed but its nice all the same and definitely fits in with the rest of the car. Its a nice unusual 1.18 that I am happy to have added to the fleet. Skizzer, AndyW201, andrew e and 5 others

I'm no Sideways King 75 (check him out on YouTube), it's really just bits of flat plastic cut to shape with uprights to support the glass, some plastic wheels I cut up to make wheel arches, seats out of broken Minis and a spare dashboard. You can sort of see the early stages of it here The paint is just metallic blue with some pearl over the top, found that in QD for £2.50 a can, got pink, purple and white. bunglebus
Boot sale was busy but didn't find huge amounts of stuff - partly as I seem to have acquired my own nemesis, twice he was looking in the boxes I wanted to check out, and had a bag full of goodies already. Still, got one past him when he looked up to ask how much the cars were, and I swiped something out of "his" box while he wasn't looking. There were bargains to be had of course The seller with the 2CV door was where I first encountered my foe rooting through a box of cars. When he'd finished I had a look and most were pretty beaten up and broken. I pulled out a dozen or so in acceptable condition or worth restoring, and asked how much. "Paand each or six for a fiivaa". Yeah no. Put all but two back. He had the better stuff on the table, asked about a pretty decent Starsky and Hutch Torino - £10. No ta. bunglebus
The last few weeks seem to have been quite commercial-heavy, grabbed three different era Matchbox trailers A couple of DAFs And a pair of Scammels Another Scammel but a dumper And another dumper - these fantasy casting didn't used to appeal but they're growing on me. I really like the ratchet mechanism operated by pushing the fuel tank in, that raises the bed in stages on a cam Another fantasy casting but from Corgi, High Speed Van was too tidy to leave behind I'm pleased with this - there's a seller I've mentioned before with some nice stuff but overpriced, he had this trailer that goes behind the Mod Tractor for £4 last week. Different seller sold me this... ...and a pretty decent Gus's Gulper for £4 Cossie is a big battered but hopefully will make a good donor, or could be repaired with a tatty XR3i for the glass and dash This was something I've not seen before - Sunnyside. Looking on Google there should be a grille over the pull-back motor A couple of Lintoy dragsters Back shortly with the smaller stuff AndyW201, andrew e, Split_Pin and 6 others

Going back to the Facebook group, Blue14 Brand seemed to have put the Batmobile on some of their early promotional ads, only to later retract it because it appears that Corgi no longer holds the necessary licence to produce it. I wonder if they managed to get that sorted out? Cheers for the info! andrew e

I'm sure the original Mini tooling was long since worked to death after punting out a million or so examples, in addition to being messed about with for conversion to Whizzwheels in the early 70s, while doubtless modern diecast production moulds allow better, faster, more reliable manufacture. It seems the decision to fake-age the waterslide transfers on both the Monte Carlo Mini and The Saint's Volvo has been a bit controversial, though - the marketing firm behind it says that there was a lot of debate on whether the new Corgis should look like excellent examples of the original production run, or if they ought to look like brand-new items. I'd sooner they resembled the toys as they would have appeared new from the toyshop in 1966, rather than how they'd look if they appeared with a reserve of £££ at auction today - but it seems that's not the majority view. They really are lovely little replicas, though - and I'm quite excited at the thought of the East African Safari Beetle, especially if it's complete with charging rhino... bunglebus
