Shite in Miniature II

Recommended Posts

Postie  woke me up with a box of cars this morning.Quite a lot of junk in there, but this lot were ok20210508_120559.thumb.jpg.d3dd9feaafcca8c4812a113c63df48b9.jpg

Pleased with the Siku VW Porsche,a few chips but it's all there20210508_121228.thumb.jpg.4ceb07320422044b192ab7b6815f5831.jpg

These two are Faller Hit-cars,I think they're motorised & run on a hidden track underneath a road surface to go with model railways. Both have some damage to their plastic bodies, but I've never seen them before20210508_121251.thumb.jpg.4d33da1564432d12442ecd538bc9a5fd.jpg

That Siku 914 also looks interesting!

All this talk of Maxwell Toys spurring off from that very boxy bus led me to remember that I have one:

46561217902_7c6745f736_b.jpg

Originally, it would've been placed upon those hideous little wheels the bus has, despite being 1/43 scale and the bus looking to be more 1/64. However, a previous owner put some Spot On wheels on, so likely a case of devaluing both this model and the donor. Looks the part, though.

Note also that I think this was my very first photo I took of a diecast with a suitable backdrop, way back in January 2019!

For anyone who wants to see another endearing Maxwell abomination, check out the 'Mercedes 1100'....

Oldsmobile has had a couple of wheels courtesy of @eddyramrod,& a couple of tyres. It could really do with taking apart,as the suspension is slightly broken,& the pop-up headlights don't 🙁20210508_125444.thumb.jpg.acf095e6988f4cc85f1de1a8383bb9b0.jpg

Picked up this Gama 1302 a few months back:

Perhaps not Maxwell levels of ill-executed wheels but a close contender, at least. Quite endearing though, it certainly dates it to a period release when the 1302 was current.

50656510592_0d2305b111_b.jpg

The doors open but aren't too hideously bulky, which is a bonus. It also came boxed, complete with Gama coin still inserted in the base.

50811468103_8f09c94e77_b.jpg

Certainly seems to lend itself well to period backdrops, anyway.

Even the gawky front end makes me smile, rather like the badly proportioned Sikus of a similar period. It's also in bloody good nick, so was a nice score for £5. Or 20 times the price of @155V6's Siku Kafer.

The Daimler is correct on those tiny tyres!  That's just a consequence of the range not having a constant scale. I wouldn't worry about it.

Anyone for a Saturday evening sale? Got some odds and sods that need to go, thought I'd give you lot first dibs. It's a right mix of stuff, but there might be something for you in there. All prices are minus P&P but I'm happy to package multiple purchases together.

Any idea what that's supposed to be?

EDIT: A Hindustan Ambassador! That's a great piece actually

I didn't bother with the boot sale today despite fine weather, partly as I expected attendance to be down due to yesterday's downpours, partly cos we're both stressed out and knackered this week. Charity shop basket hasn't had any Treasure lately but I did retrieve this no-name Corgi Transit. Back up to 50p, the robbing bastards

However in your absence I was passing Boreham today and popped (for the first time in years) a very depleted bootsale. Chatted to the hot wheels guy, nice fella. Resisted to a point, but did  buy some NASCAR though at a £1 a pop, and I binned (the admittedly battered) boxes too 😳 😂

Went big car boot.  It was packed.  Zero social distancing efforts from our east european and traveller friends, who were in abundance and seem to have made it their own.  Nothing worth buying either.

Went to Big Clock Tower Tesco.   This was the state of it.  Useless.
