Shite in Miniature II

Rightyho, matey-peeps: not so very much on the Belfast market tat front this morning, sadly/happily (depending on how your bank balance is looking) - just a few Dinky military items and the dregs of last week's stuff.

20190405_083219.jpg

As before, unboxed Dinky etc are a fiver each, Lesney are £2. Boxed Corgi Classics are also a fiver.

20190405_083208.jpg

Tinplates £5 also.

Some of the battered 'reserve collection' items have, as spookily predicted, been dumped into the 50p box. Nothing of great notice, unless Egg wants to take a punt on that beat-up Mercury Commuter at 10% of its price last week?

That weird yellow box van thing on the right is a Lone Star 'Top Boy' Telephone Repair Van, apparently.

I've gotta dash shortly, BUT if there's owt you can't live without, leave a message for me to pick it up on the hoof, and I'll try to swing past about 1pm.

Catch you on the flipside, tat pickers!

DC - Yes please to the Mercury if you see this. Ta.

Safely procured (though I had to glare at a small child until he dropped it back in) - while it's daylight robbery at a fiver, for 50p it's not so bad... hopefully you'll be able to do something with it!

Thank you. I feel bad for the kid now!

Aw, he was getting a load of tractors bought for him - he'll be a happy enough chap tonight!

So here's your Mercury Commuter, along with some other ex-50p box residents I picked up for no particular reason - including this Dinky De Tomaso Mangusta, missing its bonnet lid but otherwise in quite reasonable condition.

The handy thing about this era of Dinkys is that they're screwed together, not riveted. Not that it makes it any more likely that I'll put the hours in to restore it, mind...

And then another Mangusta, this time by Corgi Juniors (and not one with which I'm familiar) in a fairly horrible state, but mostly complete... plus an Edocar Mk2 Granada

All of the above (bar the Mercury, obvs) are available to whoever wants them.

(Thinking about last week's grumpiness from the stallholder, I'm wondering whether he thinks I'm snapping up all his stock and selling it on for MAHOOSIVE PROFIT$$$ online - maybe I'm overthinking it, but maybe I should tell him that I'm not...)

I also picked this Romanian magazine partwork Daewoo Cielo/Nexia up from the sole model shop that remains in Belfast, which I remembered when I saw Felly's sale thread (and which Lord Sterling has now purchased, along with a might fine Espero) - it was there when I bought a Dacia pick-up last summer, and - surprise! - it was still there today!

The shallowness of the wheeltrims do let it down rather, but otherwise it's quite a nice casting.

Just been across town to pick up this little lot, plus a Triang milk truck and a Tonka car transporter... my maths is shoddy but this lot worked out at...

Cor, nice going!

Is that a Dinky Volvo 245DL on its roof at the bottom, under the Matchbox London Bus?

Hey Tim did you ever find out about that Majorette Ford 9000?

Yup, that's ready and waiting in your box!

I have emptied 32 quid box; the two big tinplates took the price to 40 quid.

I reckon I've done okay here.

**faints**

Well bought! Some absolute crackers in there.

A thanks to 64A60 who answered my appeal for a Allegro I can convert into a Vanden Plas 1500.

I now have the police version but it makes no difference as I plan to paint it maroon anyway.

The next stage is a hideously grotesque grill needs to be fitted. Can anybody think what I can use to achieve the VP look?

I have a max of 17 mm between the lights.
