Now lives at my dads house, gave it him for Xmas last year. I’ve another to do at some point but in the colour of the one my grandfather had, a sort of 50’s shade of green. Trying to find the right colour. Split_Pin

bunglebus
I'm sure not many people will be after one, but I was rather pleased to find a new variant of the Hot Wheels monster Beetle in Aldi of all places today Split_Pin and AndyW201
Split_Pin
I'd really like a scaled down model of the original Tamiya Monster Beetle from the early 1980s. andrew e and bunglebus
Amishtat
I had a Monster Beetle junior in about 1989,that was as close as I got to one. Still got the box and one or two components from it up in the attic. A couple of years later I was one of those kids who'd stand endlessly watching the videos of Tamiya stuff which played on a loop in Beatties. Incidentally, and because I'm still a sad fucker, the Cresta actually looks a good bit better just for a clean. bunglebus, Datsuncog, RoadworkUK and 3 others
bunglebus
Definitely a tat day today. After Aldi I went to my fave charity shop, nothing too exciting but found a trio of Superfast dustcarts. One has bent axles but you can't leave just one behind...? Further digging revealed a Londoner And that meant buying the Chinese copy A Corgi Transvestite Thought one of you might want the Hongwell E36 touring A pair of Maisto Bajas And bizarrely the most valuable of the lot - Welly Lupo Tenmil Socket, andrew e, AndyW201 and 1 other
bunglebus
Waiting at home was the Big Cat @Spottedlaurelfound for me In another box was another last-gasp Dinky Also included was a Playart Fiat 850 And the Mira Turbo Fury I mentioned recently. Helpfully an original was included to save me digging another one out Edit - forgot this one, Husky Monkeemobile with all the figures but broken windscreen - but I have a repainted one that can donate that bit AndyW201, 155V6, Datsuncog and 4 others

I can now, all being well, recreate this... ...Which was mine until my operation in 2018. Naturally there isn't, AFAIK, a model of the hatchback 800, never mind the facelift variety! So one has to improvise. I'll let you know... just read your signature - I am sad to see S Cross left your fleet - but Vitaras tend to be very good - was recommended one in 2013/14 but got an 04 Ignis instead - just as good!! eddyramrod

Yep all the Lupo owners want them so they go for more than you might expect on eBay. This is the third I've found so will go the same way as I have an original and a custom already. There are other Lupo models and this is the most affordable. I'd like the larger scale Welly with opening doors if I can find one Split_Pin

S-Cross had come to the end of its lease, that's all. Unusually, I'm liking the Vitara for being slightly smaller, it feels much less bloated. Be interesting to see what happens in three years when this one comes to the end of its lease! Ignis was a good call, we had one from new (06) and it never disappointed. Model Suzukis are very thin on the ground. I've painted up a railway-scale Merc ML to resemble our Ignis, which works surprisingly well.

AndyW201
Been a late one today, but I was pleased to see a little package was waiting for me, all the way from France, Truth is, I realised I've been a bit decadent with all this Minichamps German luxo-barge buying of late, so time to go back to something a bit more shite, subject matter - wise! Yep, that should do it. I was quite excited to see the Mk4 Escort, one of the chock-full-of-shite South American 'Salvat Involidables' partwork series, appear on Jumajo's listings. Previously I'd only seen it on eBay with ludicrous price tags of about £30-£40. £8 from Jumajo seemed more like it, and that includes a posho acrylic case as well, rather than the blister packs they normally come in. Mk4 models are still relatively thin on the ground. The resin Neo RS Turbo (£££££££££££), the XR3i and recently launched (and rather good) RS Turbo by Corgi Vanguards (cheaper but still ££££££) and the old weird XR3i with RS kit, early front bumper and late rear spoiler casting from IXO (white), Whtebox (grey) and Triple 9 (black). But so far, this is the only standard 5 door relatively-base hatch I've come across. So, as an Ixo-sourced (I think) cheap partwork, I wasn't expecting perfection and sure, we're not talking Minichamps/Vanguards levels of accuracy or finish here. But for the money, it's pretty good. The shape is captured much better than the partwork MK3 5 door that's kicking about. As can be seen in the above pic, there's a bit of a casting flaw around the left rear arch but I think it pretty well represents any wob laden rear arch on any Mk4 since about... well... 1989 ish! But the GL spec wheel trims are pretty well done. Might need a bit of careful silver Sharpie action around the window frames, being a GL. Again, hard to photograph the interior and, it's a cheap model so it's a sea of black, but the shape of the dash is there, there's a correct pattern steering wheel, and even the stubby little column stalks are there. Locating tabs apart, the rear lights are pretty good too, and check out that font on the boot badges!
