AndyW201
Long shot I know, but does anyone out there mess about with Vanguards models and have any spare sets of wheels? Was cleaning all the 43rd scale models in the display cabinet and discovered the minilites on the front of the pink 'boy racer' mk2 cortina were at odd angles. Then I found the wheels had disintegrated! The spokes had come away from the rims and there is no way they'll stick back together. I was going to maybe break this one for spares and look for another mint boxed example ( I have the entire boy racer collection, so need the cortina to make up the set) but haven't found one online for less than £35, so the one Ive got will have to be repaired for now. So on the off chance someone has a pair of the vanguards type minilites, or failing that, a full set of 70s Ford type wheels, 4 spoke, rostyles, dartboards, etc for sale, I'd be interested! mercrocker
BTS Mouldings (01424 722279) sell 1/43 Rostyles for £4.50 set including tyres. No website you have to phone 'em. Oh, and they shut on Fridays. Good gear, though..... AndyW201

Junkman
Teknos are 1/43 scale and no.Nobody does them.Sadly.Tekno wheels were also pretty much model specific.

Just before you go spending any money on it, new models of this car are cheap. I have it in 'aquatic jade' and it doesn't appear to have any issues. Split_Pin
Just ordered another Atlas Dinky, this time a Peugeot 204. Sadly it's not in white however beggars and all that. Quite dear at £19, but better than a ton or so for the genuine article.
Bren
My latest purchase Majorette VW K70. I had forgotten how good the castings are on these - I had quite a few when I was small. I have my eye on a few others. junkyarddog, Junkman, mercrocker and 1 other
Split_Pin
I used to have a fair few of these plastic 1/43 Norev models but like an idiot I sold most of them, only keeping the best 2. Quite characterful, they seem a bit fragile for toys though. Mr Lobster, mercrocker, laser wheels and 3 others
Split_Pin
My latest purchase image.jpeg Majorette VW K70. I had forgotten how good the castings are on these - I had quite a few when I was small. I have my eye on a few others.I used to have a few early 'skinny tyre' Majorettes and I agree that the castings were a lot finer back then, the Simca 1100, Fiat 127 and 'Cocinelle' being examples. Not sure when their castings became much chunkier, my Simca 1308 GT has the fat tyres but still has full cast on badges in the right font which are superb. My BMW 7 series and Saab 900 seem less detailed and chunkier though so I'll guess that it was around 1980 when things changed.
Felly Magic
The Mk2 Capri was a good casting from Majo IIRC, had a blue one with a trailer & canoe I got in Morecambe in 1984 Banger Kenny
sierraman
I've got a fair few Majorettes in the loft from that era. The attention to detail was fantastic in comparison to Corgi Juniors.
Felly Magic
And they were often cheaper than Corgi and Matchbox of the era too

Just before you go spending any money on it, new models of this car are cheap. I have it in 'aquatic jade' and it doesn't appear to have any issues. A good point, I read that somewhere (probably on here). I've had a look and the shell is all good and sound. A wonder, seeing as it's been on display since the day I got it in a glass cabinet, in a room that gets a fair bit of sunlight. I would try and get hold of another but the only two I've seen have been on ebay, at £28 and £35! GTF! It's not that long ago that you couldn't give the boy racer models away... In the loft I've got a fair few other Ford models, vanguards rally cars with minilights and so on, that have been waiting years for their turn to go on display but I'm too soft to go butchering any mint and boxed models! Split_Pin
Do they still make Corgi 1/36 scale cars? They always had great play value and looked good. My favourite was a mk3 Escort Police car and a MK2 Transit milk float. laser wheels

My favourite was a mk3 Escort Police car and a MK2 Transit milk float. I had a one in the '80s as young 'un which was a bin lorry with moving bits. The back all lifted up and everything. I loved it. Split_Pin
That's the SD Revopak N type with the Motor Panels Cab. I so wanted one as a kid as Glasgow City Council had a fleet in the early 1980s and I loved watching them. I bought one on EBay eventually, they're ace! laser wheels
laser wheels
I think it may very well have been the Shelvoke Drewry Revopak but for some reason I remember mine having lights on the top, although I may very well be wrong on that as google doesn't bring up any with that particular feature! On the subject of Corgi, picked up this at this afternoons car boot - Only paid a quid, and after checking ebay I think I may have got a bargain! I got lucky, too, as I just happened to glance into a box of modern toss as I was walking away and there was the box for it - result! eddyramrod, junkyarddog, Junkman and 2 others
laser wheels
I also picked this up for 50p - Reckoned it was worth that just for the shell and transfers. Original plan was to have a crack at finishing it, but now I'm tempted to just flip it. Plus bonus pube in bottom of box (unfortunately I have now lost the pube).
