Australian Terrier production included 4.4 petrol V8 and Allison autobox option.  Lowered the compression improving torque over the engine fitted in P76 cars.  Governed to around 3500rpm

This is the sole known survivor with the autobox

As rallied as part of a 2 ‘car’ team with that other ideal long distance marathon rally car a Mini Moke in the 1977 London to Sydney.

So it's from Corgi but not the Corgi Model Club? Colour me confused

As Noel says, Corgi are going to be doing the other colours that models came in. These modern repros are only worth buying as sentimental reminders of lost toys, there is no investment potential in them. Just like the old Atlas Dinkys from a few years ago, I suspect that these Corgis will be available for a fraction of the cost in about 5 years time.

I was considering the Mini Magnifiques, but I'll wait.

It must be annoying if you have paid the £35.99 for an E-Type from CMC...

335 - 4.2 Litre Jaguar 'E' Type 2+2 – Corgi Model Club

only to find that the blue one is £19.99 from Corgi.

The gold Mustang looks nice. I don't need another expensive but it's interesting to know anyway

I got a delivery from @Mine's a Leganza!

Excellent service, the Mini was one of the ones Tesco deprived us of and I liked the idea of the red MGB in a box - think it was only a multi pack colour over here?

Mini van didn't make it to these shores at all as far as I know

Different wheels on mine though - the earlier five-crown type.

I couldn't help myself

Strangely it's in nice condition, other than the wheels which are a bit chewed up.

This also arrived. I have quite a few of these and there seems to be an endless variety of shades of purple from grape to pink. It's very tidy and will be replacing a not as good one

I also bought this. There is a plan which you might be able to work out

Lastly there's this oddly scaled beast, Politoys and supposedly 1:43. Maybe the Honda Z is so small it just looks weird against others the same scale? It's nice in any case

Oh they are tiny things, 11.5 cm slimmer and 6.6cm shorter in height than a BMC Mini

If you tell me the width and length, I'll compare it to the Zylmex Honda 600 here which looks too big for 1:64

£19.99 is a bit of a bargain.  I'll wait too.

Oh silly me! I forgot I cancelled the club subscription at the Mangusta.  Back when they were £22 per release

The 1999 Weetabix promotion resurrected the Terrier, colouring the grille and fitting a better* choice of wheels.  So, it survived the Mattel ownership era, despite them not transitioning it into a Hot Wheels.

But wait....

It's not the same casting - what's that on the roof of the Chinese-manufactured resurrection?  That wasn't there in the 70s and 80s castings.  Or was it?

Ahh.  Here's the reason for the roof difference

For the 1999 Eddie Stobart version.

I've two of the 261 James Bond Aston Martin (don't ask) so had better get one of them sold sharpish!

Red MGB came in the 'UK' packaging and was priced higher than a mainline.

The monthly Falkirk Swapmeet, which took place in various other locations since the 1960s, never came back to life after Covid. The organisers, McLaren Models, a well known retailer in the area closed their physical shop in around 2017 and now even their website appears not to have been updated in a while. The family were ageing and have no doubt retired.

As such there are no regular Swapmeets or Toy Fairs in Central Scotland at all but today I am going to the Errol Toyfair. Its about an hours drive and 4 quid to get in so I hope it's worth it!

I used to go to it pre chinky nonsense. It was always a good place for hunting. Didn’t know it had finished though.

This was the plan - to make a fake purple regular wheels version which is a bit hard to find. This base isn't the greatest as it has loads of glue bobbed all over it

Speaking of Marcos...

More pics that I took the other week and never bothered my arse uploading.

Yup, the April release from Corgi Model Club - arrived a week or two ago but I was pipped to the post when it came to gloating over it on this fair thread.

1857583172_IMG_20230424_1602382.thumb.jpg.ada6694a4ebd26807ce6569a49ea04d7.jpg

I came very close to asking them to skip this one, as generally speaking I'm not all that into sports special stuff - but I'm kinda glad I didn't now. It's actually very nice.

1330376639_IMG_20230424_1603072.thumb.jpg.cffc0367ee97d0a6502da522c5c704d6.jpg

Shrunken lil driver dude is pretty hilarious, mind.

1346040421_IMG_20230424_1603592.thumb.jpg.a206402c70c09b750040d6128fceaaa2.jpg

I mean, this is a model of what was already a very low car - only 60" high or thereabouts - so this guy's basically doll-sized.

2087690354_IMG_20230424_1601372.thumb.jpg.a05e9ca82263858d140c004f96e5c47b.jpg

Detailing is good, as you'd expect, and the opening bits are snug enough when closed. Having a cast-in window frame on the door is unexpected - not many Corgis have that, I don't think - but it looks ok, not too heavy.

1324174598_IMG_20230424_1605432.thumb.jpg.d1dec779052b4267c3a5e538b08e50eb.jpg

Inside of door insert is also unexpected, but appreciated for the extra detail.

Did the original have some extra stuff on the base, I wonder? Like a manufacturer badge? Seems a bit smooth in places. I've no recollection of seeing an original close-up, so I don't know. I do know the CMC Porsche Carrera lacked the Porsche badge on the base which the original Corgi release had, and the DS lacked any Citroen badging altogether, so there could be some sort of licensing issue at play here as well.

I'm still not sure why Corgi made so much effort to let their young customers know that the Marcos was fitted with a Volvo engine - other than the De Tomaso Mangusta (sold as the 'Ghia Mangusta with De Tomaso chassis', if I recall correctly), I can't think of other models in the range where the engine took equal billing on the box. Maybe Volvo insisted on it?

Overall though: nice 👍

ah you got a 3 as well then

I think there are still £22 plus P&P if you subscribe. The higher £35.99 is if you buy older issues or do not subscribe, a bit like having a Tesco Clubcard I guess.

Bit late to the Marco postings, here's my slightly battered 850 GT.

So here is what I got. A few sellers took money off without me even asking which was great. Its so long since I've been to a Swapmeet I forgot that can happen! Showing you are interested in something seems to be important.

I got these three for a quid each.

20230506_133922.thumb.jpg.d0a98ec1ec16b1f9e03c9835ec69d0af.jpg

The Corgi 1/36 Rancho is the only casting I don't have and it's almost mint, bar a slightly winky aerial. I didn't know these came with a W registration!

I've got a few Corgi MK3 Escorts but not a 1/36 Crystal green. One seat back missing but again quite nice for a quid.

I have also been after a shonky Hong Kong Dinky SD1, again at a quid this is great.

Polistil Beta is nice with a metal base:

20230506_134009.thumb.jpg.f190a391808ee68cab4bbbaf17d13058.jpg

I paid £3 for this but annoyingly I found another one in blue at a nearby stall for £2! Never mind, its superb anyway.

Since getting my Corgi car transporter and the recent discussion about Corgi MGBs and C, I have been on the look out for one. There were a few to choose from, this one cost me a tenner and looks OK.

20230506_134021.thumb.jpg.a86523165277f9fb08c3e5aaec5f7d95.jpg

This was 8 quid down to a fiver. Obviously not much paint left but its otherwise very solid and the glass is very clean.

20230506_134044.thumb.jpg.5018543131d5d7c909718a699581959c.jpg

I had to have this original 75, quite salty at 15 quid but its pretty clean.

20230506_134121.thumb.jpg.e25c45af7042d167d9380d76e574d306.jpg

2 Ambulances were £12 for the pair. CF is very clean and goes with my 5 series from the same range.

20230506_134146.thumb.jpg.07da9e4243551c259571c3219763e9f3.jpg

Polistil Dodge van was a must have for my collection but its a very strange scale. Id say about 1:28

20230506_134201.thumb.jpg.2b8c7042f7b405ebc15caa8f55a24349.jpg20230506_134221.thumb.jpg.e75cc5c589d363e7467533ac7919e7b8.jpg

Very pleased all round but I could not do this every month as I'd quickly run out of room.
