Spottedlaurel
Should have the opportunity to visit a B&M today, and one or two other shops, after the little Needham Market toy fair visit. In the meantime, this week's purchases: Hunter in post-rally condition, clearly not a minter but a replacement box on the roof would make it look decent. Are they available as a repro? Lyons Maid vendor has lost part of his right arm in the ice cream/drug wars that also saw his roof panel get smashed. Just about to finish putting this together. 1;43 scale means those parts are pretty tiddly. Not one of my better efforts, but it's good to keep the building going rather than just buying them.... andrew e, MiniMinorMk3, bunglebus and 6 others

eddyramrod
That Hunter was a lovely model. I never understood why Corgi failed to exploit it BITD. We haven't even seen it rejigged as a Vanguard, which strikes me as a major omission. FakeConcern
Jon
Been away this weekend, to celebrate my birthday and on the walk back to our hotel last night, I had to stop by this bus stop poster, to take a closer look: Even at a brisk walking pace to get back to the room so I could use the loo (it's great getting old), I could spot a Novoexport Moskvitch! Blame the soft focus on either my rushed picture taking under the circumstances, or the after effects of 3 drinks, over a 4-5 hour period. First drinks this year, but still! To try and offset the ageing process through the inevitable passing of time, there was some diecast action involved in the commemorations. I'll report back tomorrow, when I've had a nice night's sleep. eddyramrod, danthecapriman, MiniMinorMk3 and 5 others

Annoyingly it’s seems to be nearly all Fords and Vauxhalls.

sierraman
It’s an excess of Ford Transits sold to show boating Plumbers driving about with 20 inch rims on their van who call themselves something ridiculous like Westfield Plumbing Solutions and wear gillets. bunglebus
Well trying to go to BuM was a pain in the...neck Half marathon is on and half of Chelmsford was coned off including their car park at 9.55. Decided to head for the lazy bones boot sale as they're now putting that on all year. Bloody marathon organisers stopped all traffic trying to get there for a full 15 minutes to allow runners to cross the road, even when there was no-one there. Fuckers. I think because it's the only one on it was really full, spilling over into the parking area too. Didn't find much but there was a stall with lots of Paint Factory aerosols so I have more colours to choose from at least. Didn't ask the price on these Found a few tatty older Matchbox in a 5 for £1 box, there were a couple of other regular wheels that would work as donors but they were the black plastic wheels, not the Auto Steer type. I pulled these out As well as some of the titchy Hot Wheels And a no-name 928 Only other purchase was a Dinky phone box for 50p Oh and I went back to BuM later, nothing new. I'll have a look later, just listing all my spare cars on eBay *edit* Funny enough there was a spare trailer awaiting its place in the box - as you can see there's a slight scale discrepancy! Now that's interesting... as all the Rancheros in the Newtownabbey branch of B&M are fitted with those hubcap-type wheels you mention. Are we gonna be seeing wheel variations as well as lhd/rhd and lights up/lights down variants in this year's releases, I wonder? I'll be keeping one of these - but the other's available at cost price of £1.79 if anyone's keen? **EDIT - TAKEN!!** Justwatching, bunglebus and AndyW201

Must...resist... I removed the kiddie paint from the Dinky Corvette and gave it the correct number of wheels The wheels were a bit of a surprise actually, being fitted in a very similar way to very early Hot Wheels redlines - a thin wire axle with a U shape in the centre, crimped to the base, and a bearing on the end which the wheel pushes onto. I was expecting to swap a whole axle off the donor but instead I carefully pulled one wheel off and pressed it onto the (thankfully still present) bearing on the good car Oh and I remembered there's an even sexier version! They were also stuck onto the strip with clear tape, presumably by exasperated staff fed up with picking them up off the floor every ten minutes. No prices, either - so it was mildly discomfiting to rock up at the till with an armful, unsure whether or not I was going to be fleeced... But they were £1.79, so cheaper than Tesco but 10p dearer than the Hot Wheels. A few of the mud-racer type premiums at £3.49, but otherwise not much. Five-packs at £8 were the same series as Lidl had late last year. I also picked up an AMC Eagle... And a Ford C-series, which I'd clocked last year in Tesco but I was in emergency clearance mode and couldn't even think of buying one. I might hook it up to an old Convoys trailer later - it seems to have a functional fifth wheel... And also, because my willpower is apparently zero right now... I went back to Poundstretcher. andrew e, AndyW201, Split_Pin and 3 others
