Sad times for @bunglebus, as the steering Mustang seemed to have already been taken.

Still, hopefully the Dodge Wrecker will help dry your tears!

Thank you. I'm in no rush to find a Mustang, and I only need the glass anyway. I've been sorting through many boxes of potential projects and spares left over from job lot purchases - so the plan is to start my own force hail thread at 6PM. It may be done in fits and starts around life but I'll do my best to update it regularly

Apologies, it was a mis-identification of the Minx !

I can help with supply of Mustang steerables as I have some spares

*wills Herpa Setra to be at St George tomorrow*

Yeah.... it's been a fortnight and I'm still thinking about it. I'm not right.

Sad to say, there were no buses at the market today (other than a loose Corgi Classics AEC RT, I think)... I know, I'm still kicking myself over that one too!

That Cresta was an excellent purchase. Lovely.

The zephyr, all the parts are obtainable from Steve Flowers, for probably about £10 you could have that looking new.

I'd love to have taken both, but I couldn't see a way to stretch to both of them this afternoon. The Cresta looks more like it can be enjoyed as-is, and after carting a wrecked one about for twenty years I'd love to have a good 'un for a little while.

I've just totted up how much I've spent and damn near fainted.

Oops.

And just to circle back to what seems like half a lifetime ago, but was only this morning:

Bit cheeky I know, but there seems no other way to obtain without succumbing to scalpage 😐

Yes, things are that bad down here

But please don't go out of your way, I can learn* to live without

Ford Customs, you say?  I've never even seen one in the flesh!  Could you pick one up for me next time you're over that way?  Pretty please?

OOh, pink 1960 El Camino?  I didn't even know MB were doing that!  Yes please @Datsuncog, if you should see one.

Yep, I'll be heading past on my way home - and will have a look to see what's there!

There were at least three or four black Customs in the dump bin, and at least one black Mercedes estate - possibly a Dodge Flareside still remaining, I can't quite be sure.

I don't believe there were any Kurtis roadsters, pink El Caminos or Bedford CA catering vans - haven't noticed any of those on offer in my local store, at any time, but will have a good old hoke later!

Crikey I picked up a custom last night but put it back.

Eddy I'll pick one up next time I'm in Tesco for you if you want?

I'll have a look in an hour or so and report back - I've already a model set aside for Eddy so it's no trouble to lump them both in together!

THIS :)

Excellent work from Tim, and from those who have offered here or in PM; when I know what the Belfast situation is, we can progress.  THANK YOU to all involved, you know who you are.

Fortunately, things took a turn for the better.

Market Blokey appeared, and must have noticed my steely determination, as he waved me behind the stall and produced some plain cardboard boxes which must have been stashed away in a secret vault, or something.

Victory!

Vexing.

But nonetheless, it's been a fair few weeks since a cornucopia such as this has been seen.

And NO NEMESIS, strangely.

Was he in league with Sneaky Sunak?

Had he failed to secure the Lesney heist, and was now being dangled by his toes above snapping crocodiles in the River Lagan?

(Okay, so I haven't actually seen crocodiles in the Lagan, but it wouldn't surprise me all that much.)

But there was lots to tempt.

Mercedes ambulance was very clean, though not quite mint. Also, although the skinny Superfast wheels mean the body casting's not as butchered as the later fat-wheel version, I'd still prefer a regular-wheel example.

Lomax ambulance was pretty good, though missing the back doors (inevitably).

More bloodboxes, in slightly more worn condition - Husky DS and Lesney Cadillac.

Steering-fun Mustang and E-Type with spoked wheels intact - appealing, but if I'm splitting hairs these look more like £2 models than £3 models...

Anglebox also with a bit of a roof lean, and no better paint-wise than the one I picked up for £2 a few weeks back.

Cararararama Minis with a choice of rear treatments.

So there was plenty to enchant, and believe me, I had a few set to one side.

And then I became aware of The Nemesis sidling up. Green Adidas today.

Seems that the OMG TRAFFIC LIGHT KAOS on East Bridge St had nobbled him.

I felt a bit sorry for him - but then I remembered the Austin Ruby.

He asked politely if he could see one that I'd set aside.

It was a Corgi Rockets Capri.

(More on that later)

We both agreed it was very nice, and he then passed it back, and I passed him over the boxes I'd already rummaged through, for his perusal.

Sloppy seconds pour Monsieur?

Well, that's my customary fare of a Friday morning, and having now compared them, I can't say it's quite as yummy as getting first dibs.

Of course, this was something of a high-risk strategy. Cos I bet he'll be over at the market all the earlier next Friday.

So I'm going to have to start setting my alarm a few minutes earlier too, so I can beat him in (and, apparently, the Giffer Posse and all).

Predictably, this will probably escalate incrementally until one or both of us is camping outside the doors from Wednesday lunchtime on.

But. That's a problem for another day...

I think the rolled Cambridge is destined for the oval.

The recent posts about Spot On encouraged me to have a look at the toys I have still in the box of bit n pieces.

I did have a really nice PA Cresta in a bright orangy red (or reddy orange), but that seems to no longer be here.

I have a Ford Thames Trader truck, now Humbrol red and originally pale blue.

IMG_6112.thumb.JPG.b27b6272f73bb45c83d25a96e958faae.JPG

Most of this is still here, missing the small wheels on the locking mechanism and also the spare on the trailer.

IMG_6113.thumb.JPG.702862ac00cfe3e22a3f0cfe14f5a8f8.JPG

Next up a Silver Wraith, was metallic green and silver, but not much paint left. Complete apart from that. Rather bizarrely it has a red steering wheel!

IMG_6114.thumb.JPG.a9673cd6bc9055c4653c342a3e371857.JPG

No suspension on this one.

Jag MkII missing a wheel hub and pretty messed up, but I like it still.

IMG_6116.thumb.JPG.a2a3411bb44343aaf5450cc00fc3d0f8.JPG

No suspension either.

For some reason the whole interior is too high in the body and you can see under the parcel shelf, as far as I remember it’s always been like this.

IMG_6118.thumb.JPG.6c540a704690082c0a96f7368310503e.JPG

Totally fucked in every way is this Angle Box, it was turquoise and now has bits broken and bent on the body as well as missing windows and grille.

IMG_6120.thumb.JPG.7dac424f2de2f5cae0ed8346eb812744.JPG

However it does have suspension!

IMG_6121.thumb.JPG.c09fa08f3794d6cef9ed21c6d3a97448.JPG

The remains of an MG 1100, not sure where this came from, I think someone gave me it or I swapped it and it’s always had bits missing. Does have some suspension though!

Austin 1800 that I modified to go with my  London to Sydney Rally Hillman Hunter. I remember it looking quite good when I 1st did it (presumably 1968 or thereabouts), looks pretty sad now.

IMG_6125.thumb.JPG.1e392101c3ff6ae3023933ac04c1bdad.JPG

It does have suspension!

Interesting in that the base is (was) painted white and made in Northern Ireland rather than Gt Britain like the others.

IMG_6126.thumb.JPG.2986582efa644b55a4b6a00164b644d8.JPG

Now I also found these sets of wheels/axles for Spot On, I think, but seem too wide for any of the previously shown toys. The other set looks to be early Corgi WhizzWheels, but I don’t remember ever having a car fitted with them, very strange. If they’re not, what are they?

IMG_6127.thumb.JPG.7c614965db7200bed6f405cd8ebc7da4.JPG

Next some luggage, the bundle from Lesney FIAT 1500 I know. I think the black one is from Corgi MGB GT, not sure what the brown one is from, but also Corgi I think. Gunmetal one I have no idea where it came from.

IMG_6128.thumb.JPG.20257fe83abfbbdbaf65c835f8815cf2.JPG

Lastly bonus points if you know what these are and more bonus points if you know why they’re in with a load of broken die cast toy cars!

I got a parcel this morning. Nothing strange about that at the moment really, but,

Looks like someone was very desperate (and creative!) making the box and the packing!

Been after one of these for a while, now I have one it’s definitely one of my favourites! Well chuffed!
