Split_Pin
What is the appeal of these Lupos? I have one and I don't understand it. It's out of scale with the majority of other cars and it's only an average model. Bonus shite points for it being an SDi though.
bunglebus
Very busy morning at the bootsale, plenty of sellers with tat and very reasonable prices for the most part, including free because I'm always buying stuff off the same guy! I buy the occasional Hot Wheels but mainly as parts donors - Motor Psycho has an excellent beach cruiser inside that looks great in the bed of a pickup This one is giving up its co-mold wheels and surfboards Regular seller had some boxed goodies on his table Matchbox isn't mint but I have a nice condition hovercraft somewhere. Box has to be worth £1! Saw some very early Matchbox but at silly prices. D type was cheap though As was Merc I don't often buy incomplete cars, but this Rolls was so nice otherwise that I had to have it. Hopefully a donor will emerge Who's jealous of my Sterling? Did quite well here, was quoted £4 for these pretty decent English Super GTs - went of to have a think and got them for £2 later - he was asking £4-5 for tatty 60s Lesneys too Cookiesouwest, AndyW201, eddyramrod and 3 others
bunglebus
I think I should have bought that blue Super Kings tipper, and found it a replacement bed - especially as I went on to splurge 50p on this unusual Hurcules crane that needs a donor vehicle Rover 3500 is missing the dash - think I have a spare tucked away somewhere Corgi Marcos Volvo 1800 is a fairly unusual find "Dinky" Aston - made in China by Mattel No-name Alan Mann MK1 OK this is an oddity. Plastic Suzuki van by Shinsei Think this may be the star buy, Siku Pontiac GTO Lock-Ups Mustang is locked up annoyingly Rarer colour Majorette BMW And exciting* MK3 Golf This one is completely left-field though - anyone heard of Majorette Turbooms before? Britains bike is rather less unusual And this just because it amused me This was one of the freebies - Minic Jeep. Don't think repairing pressed steel is within my range of abilities sadly Lastly I bought some more Buddy Ls for an extortionate 50p each - two of them steer from the roof which I've not come across before And some random toot Jon, andrew e, Datsuncog and 5 others
andrew e
Some cracking finds there gents - both those Siku’s were excellent scores! Went hunting toys and headed home with a £5’s worth of ex-electricity board spanner instead 😂 bunglebus

sierraman
I had a Majorette Turboom. Basically you got a sort of cap gun thing that you sat in the engine bay, retracted the car and when it hit something a sort of firing pin went into the cap and caused a Big Bang. I may actually have a bootlid for the Rolls somewhere. bunglebus and andrew e
Roverageous
Very excited for this one! I had no idea such a thing existed. bunglebus
Remembered I had a spare Hot Wheels Miura so I whipped it out of the pack for a quick comparison Things have obviously come a long way in terms of tampo printing in the last 50 years, but the Matchbox is probably more faithful in terms of overall shape. I wonder what size the wheels would be scaled up? Datsuncog, andrew e, AndyW201 and 1 other
Split_Pin
As always, loving the cast numberplate in a realistic font. Majorette also used to do this in a similarly accurate style for France. bunglebus
Tenmil Socket
I spotted something pretty odd yesterday in Home Bargains. They were described as Micro Toys, around 8 or 10 in a pack. They were essentially micro versions of the actual toy. The Hot Wheels in the blister on the card can’t have been more than 2 cm! bunglebus

AndyW201
An arrival, today. Well, that gave me a clue as to what it was... Sadly, having cost 56 bloody pounds, it's going into the 'put away for Christmas' cupboard, and the flipping thing's sealed so I couldn't even get a sneaky peek! However apparently, the other item I've pre ordered from them is due to hit Corgi UK at the end of this month so I should hopefully have that soon. I'm REALLY excited about that one! warch, andrew e, Datsuncog and 1 other

And it closed the far side of £50. No way I can go that high. I know BOS aren't cheap, but I wouldn't have cared -and still don't - who made the model. Price is much more important! Meanwhile... anyone got a contact who can bring in some 1/43 Motormax Dodge Diplomats, preferably in the semi-blank black and white livery? At a sensible price of course! I'm not some retired civil servant with weight issues, BO and a manners deficit. The Diplomats seem to be impossible to find in this country, but they're a dead ringer for the Plymouth Gran Fury of the 1980s, one of which, of course, I owned. Split_Pin
I dug this out the loft yesterday. I got the MK3 minibus version in around 1987 and while it was a great model the lack of quarterlight pillars in the front side windows always annoyed me. So when I saw this version in Christie's toy shop in St Andrews the following year I was smitten as it looked much more realistic. Fast forward to August 1997 and I bought this late release, complete with 'L' registration. andrew e, Tenmil Socket, AndyW201 and 2 others

The Merc SEL is branded a Welly on the base, but the others are unbranded one of very few Hot Wheels worth buying, Dixie Challenger (Roger Dodger) was Mattel's way of avoiding Dukes of Hazzard copyright Pretty good Matchbox Nissan 270X And a K-35 Lightning Andrew E pointed out this trailer in among a serious pile of them (must have been a dozen boat trailers and half as many yellow car versions) as being the one that carries the ugly white Porsche behind the yellow van. I've probably got one but... Blue is one of the less seen colours on the ovloV I found a Field Car in a multipack but don't mind a loose one Newer version of the VW bus in a livery I didn't have Not a bad Racing Mini Miura is a body donor to allow the resto of the broken yellow regular wheels i found recently Thought this was an early Lesney but it's a Benbros Clean Corgis - Polo has been detailed nicely by someone Majorette horsebox - with horse 944 ain't great but should be restorable Why did I buy this? I already have one as a stalled project but for 50p... No regrets on this buggy though, think i have the choice of 5 colour bodies and two bases now - they clip together and are easy to customise/parts swap Tomica bus I'm hoping Mr. Flowers does a windscreen for the Dinky "Sam's Car" Joal Simca is a repaint but too unusual to resist I know some of you will enjoy seeing this Vanguards Cav Don't think I've missed anything..? Datsuncog
This month's arrival from the Corgi Model Club... The #437 Superior Ambulance on Cadillac Chassis. It's rather handsome. The big news on this one is the battery operated light. Achieved through an AA cell carrier that slots into the base. The only thing is, the original version came with a light bulb that flashed. Apparently, such a thing cannot be obtained these days, so the repro version just lights up when the switch at the base is turned. Or at least, it's meant to. This one doesn't, unless you squeeze it really hard. And even then, it only flickers a bit and the Trans-o-lite lamps at each corner don't do very much. Ah well. It's still nice to look at. Goes nicely with the Olds police car from June, I reckon. bunglebus, eddyramrod, AndyW201 and 1 other

The bulb won't flash as the rotating barb on the rear axle, which opened and closed the circuit, has been deleted. Its the same mechanism used on the Commer PB police and ambulance vans. The Dinky BMW 2000 TI Lux uses a similar mechanism except the contact is an eccentrically mounted cylinder on the axle. They're all in the loft at the moment so I can't grab them for a picture. None have ever worked for me in my ownership. Datsuncog and Remspoor
