flat4alfa
Tall Post Lady has been replaced by Short Post Man The multi-parcel delivery included some things that I forgot about. Yes I succumbed to the eBay trigger-finger. It's the Corgi '67 Pontiac Firebird. So put it out to meet one of the three-wheeler Corgi '67 Chevrolet Camaros found in Belfast earlier this year The first 'Red Wheel Centre' Corgi in this household no less. For some reason I expected the castings to be the same bar a few plastic features tacked-on to Pontiac-ize, but no, they are quite different Did know it needed two seat backs and a screen, which seemed worthwhile as getting roof and screen for Camaro off Mike Flowers Pops anyhow. But clearly I didn't look at the photos properly the other week as both bumpers and the rear roof part are chipped. It was fiver. Well, it was there, had been losing sleep of them and this was the cheapest available by some margin - it's a bit of a rarer beast and more valuable than the Camaro it seems. Was never going to see a repeat of the @bunglebus £2 price point! And it's all your fault you lot for getting me interested in red centres and Corgis I've never had andrew e, AndyW201, eddyramrod and 2 others 3

flat4alfa
Another questionable purchase was this Dinky Jaguar E-Type 2+2. Had one as a boy and wish I'd looked after it (I remember it fell to bits), fancied getting hold of one in recompense, but hadn't realised until recently how valuable they are in any condition. The Firebird I'm sure knew this fact and popped over to say hello and gloat. Surprisingly for one of these, it's all there apart from tailgate and one door. Still has all the fittings usually missing, such as bumpers, mirrors, headlamps and seat backs. Felt sorry for it. Not only that, it has the crucial spokey wheels and not those ghastly plastic mag wheel things on the later releases. So, another fiver in parts off Mr Flowers would complete the rebuild kit ...the plan is to turn the body to that orangey colour of my old original, give it the matching light blue interior to hide the small boot repair and not have those ghastly wheels to contend with. library pic* Then get some sleep once completed. Justwatching
More from the box. A pair of Bird's Custard Ford Model T vans in 1:50 scale. Matchbox, 1989. One is a little play worn, but the other is almost mint. Another Model T, this time a 'Days Gone' by Lledo with Castrol motor oil decals. Sadly a tyre missing from the rear offside. Not sure how I got it off as it's hard plastic, not the rubber type, and clearly not meant to be removable. Right, back to my usual programming for a moment - a Greenlight 2001 Ford Crown Victoria in Miami police livery. I love the subject matter that Greenlight covers, but despite being considerably more expensive than Hot Wheels or Matchbox, the quality control is complete shite. Case in point, look at how wide the axle is on this one. I was able to pry the wheels off, trim it down and glue the wheels back on. The result wasn't perfect, but way better than it came out the box. AndyW201, eddyramrod, bunglebus and 4 others

TheOtherStu
OK, if anyone wants to see it, I'll take a picture of my early 1980s combine harvester. My Dad worked for Claas, so he brought it home one day. For years, it was simply kept in a box. But my kids started playing with it and IIRC it's got a broken plastic thing. andrew e

Jon
I got given 2 (presumably LED) flat panel lights, which I've installed over my workbench in the garage and they provide excellent light to work with, even in the day time. So I thought it best to see if they were any good at lighting diecasts, so whipped out my phone and gave it a crack: Transit favourite. Green plastic interior and tow hook, which I think might be unusual. Colour temp not quite right on this one. Will have to keep an eye on that. Trying to catch the glare spots here, as well as catch the snazzy sunroof and brown interior. Succeeded in eliminating the glare in the curved screen! Colours went all funny on this but check out my pseudo-macro, @bunglebus! Opened this up for the occasion, despite buying months ago. It's a little bloody ripper, I couldn't put it down. Have the Transit again, as I try to catch out the camera - many don't like orange. Catching out success! Datsuncog
Pleasantly crisp and leafy morning today. Wet at home, but dry by the time I arrived in Belfast, which was nice. No sign of the Adidas Avenger today, but it's good to know that he's still around. I guess Batman would feel at a bit of a loose end if the Joker packed up and moved out of Gotham... Not a lot on the stall this morning, in terms of diecast: Matchbox Superfast track pack was nice to see, though also filthy and likely incomplete. But behold, at the bottom of a box... Mmm, some early 70s Super Kings and Speed Kings goodness. Nissan pretty borked, Mercedes C111 a bit the worse for wear too, but the Camping Cruiser and Marauder weren't too bad. Battleship in front is a Hong Kong item, not Minic. Scammell log hauler had a surprisingly complete tractor unit, with grille and horns still intact, though trailer missing its tow loop and with a snapped log holder-onner. Muir-Hill missing tyres and such, but the Super Bulldozer was quite nice with the tracks still intact. Galanite Ford D-Series ladder truck also appealing, if quite toy-like (not apparently a fire engine - just a truck with a ladder turntable?) Tonka double-axle tipper was in reasonable nick, and I think that trailer might belong with the Super Kings Muir-Hill... Other debris included some Britains farm stuff, some Corgi and Matchbox odds and ends, plus the inevitable MoY. Not sure how much he's looking for these, but probably not much more than a pound or two. The weird bits of plastic all over the bottom of the box had fallen out of this: Seemingly some sort of German take on Lego from the 1970s, calling itself Baks by a company called Herbart. Or maybe it's the other way round. Because I'm strange, I picked all the loose bits out of the tat box and put them back in their torn blister pack. Market Blokey thanked me while closing the packaging up with a few elastic bands, no doubt wondering why he attracts all the weirdos. There was also quite a lot of authentic Lego there too, some of it very early-looking stuff. A wander round the other stalls revealed very little; the Charity Stall remains focused on realising £5 a pop on the Bburago 1/43 and 1/24 stuff, and no-one seems awfully keen to pay that... He's sold a few more racing Jags, though. Some local-interest Corgis up above, though - a Belfast trolleybus by OOC and a Belfast tram by Corgi Classics. Doubtless pricey. The boxed Buddy L 'Pump and Go' Firebird from last week was still there too. Nothing of note anywhere else at the market, but I'm currently mooching around the city centre waiting for a pair of boots to be re-soled, so if there's anything here you're mad keen for, I could probably slip back and see if it's still around... A grand Friday to you all, gentle tat-fondlers. andrew e, AndyW201, flat4alfa and 5 others 5

flat4alfa
Went Charity shop at lunch. Came back with: - A Corgi Chevrolet Van, 'Spider-Van' earlier stickers and wheels version - An unbranded Camper Van with opening things and probably makes a right racket along with flashing lights if I put fresh battery in it - An unbranded generic R/C car that will be robbed of its chassis complete with motor, gearing, axles, wheels - A Scalextric Audi TT that looks like all it needs is some braids and a scrub! - A Matchbox Superfast Fork Lift Truck from 1972, which I had one or two of as a boy. Because Lansing and Bagnall were probably some of my first complex words - A Matchbox MBX Motor Home from 2006, which has a lowerable tailgate for when you take your Oxen on holiday with you I shouldn't be allowed out on my own Tenmil Socket, Amishtat, Datsuncog and 2 others
