vulgalour
New arrival in for reconstructive surgery. It's a partially started kit and has a couple of small optional items missing that I don't want or need Important bit for me is that all of the clear plastic parts are present and intact. Aside from a couple of minor repairs to reattach tiny pieces that had broken off or cracked, it's in pretty good shape. It's nice that all the chrome appears to be present too, that gives me plenty of options for trimming it out. Not going to make an accurate replica of the original car with this, just going to make a 60s style custom with the parts provided, in a lairy metallic of some sort. Should look good alongside my other more ordinary stuff in this scale. eddyramrod, andrew e, AndyW201 and 2 others

junkyarddog
Picked up this early '70s Matchbox 24 carry case a few weeks back at a boot sale,it was full of extremely battered regular wheels cars, but the seller was happy to sell the case on its own. "Time to fill it with age related diecast chod M8" Picked out a selection of tidy early 70s cars to fill it with. Really pleased with this one. bunglebus
Anyone got one of these hanging around they don't want? Needs to be one of the earlier ones with the hinged body, I do have the green one which I can sacrifice if needs must
Frogchod
Matchbox and hotwheels too small for you? Try this 1/18 DS Tissier... 45cm long! Datsuncog, 2cvspecial, morrisoxide and 5 others
sierraman
I do that with the Matchbox, I built a display cabinet out of plywood. If I come by a really tidy seventies example I buy it even though it’s a duplicate for the display. 2cvspecial

junkyarddog
Dropped in on Smoll Eddy to collect my latest wheel swap victim. There he was proudly filling his latest acquisition up with premium. "You like it then M8?" I do Smoll Eddy. "That's good seeing as you've paid for it M8" 🤣 This is what I dropped off, a battered Dodge dragster with bent axles and a broken grille. This is what I collected. Still battered, but with new wheels and a repaired grille. bunglebus
Those Hot Wheels slot mags are excellent, I've been hoarding them ever since they came out on the mainline cars. Hopefully they'll do some different sizes especially some skinny fronts

morrisoxide
First charity shop find in ages, job lot for £2.50. I didn't know matchbox did a 480 Volvo I had a Landy when I was a kid and never liked its proportions, it just looked wrong (ie massive) much like the Corgi Metro. andy18s
Picked up a few from a local charity shop whilst we were selling our own products. Tenmil Socket
Bit of a bizarre one earlier today. I was in a collectibles shop in Widnes that sells a fair whack of die-cast. I asked the owner if I could look at a trio of mini Hot Wheels which were £2 for all three, a Transit milk float and a Matchbox laser wheels which he placed on the counter. An older lady walked in asking if he wanted to buy an Accurist watch which he didn’t. She mentioned a few times how her grandson would love the mini Hot Wheels. I said I was buying them but jokingly said I’d swap for the watch and she said okay! I’d agreed on a fiver each for the Transit and Matchbox and £2 for the Hot Wheels. The lady took the cars and handed me the watch before I’d paid the shop owner. He then said just give me a tenner so I got the watch for free! The Transit is available if anyone fancies it? junkyarddog, D.E, andrew e and 8 others

Yeah it is a Mk2 Prairie, I've been after one for ages. It's come up quite well with a fine tip green permanent marker. Think I will start looking at older matchbox with suspension. Remspoor
The wife is away visiting family in another country and I thought I would take an opportunity to get the box with my old die-casts down take some photos put them here. Went into the attic. It is very small and jammed with crap. Could not get the box out on my own as it would mean moving a lot mainly up and down the step ladder.. Maybe when we have another clear out will I be able to dig the box out. Most of my cars were destroyed because I used to play car He (sometimes called Tag or It). This meant pushing and letting go of said vehicle across the school playground. when die-cast metals hit crumbly asphalt it is the metal that comes of worse. Usually I ended up with just the metal base. bunglebus

bunglebus
That's ace ^ Went to Barleylands car show today, a few people selling very nice Dinky and Matchbox stuff at "don't ask" prices, however I picked up a handful of 50p bargains. I also raked through this lot and found quite a few Huskys and Matchbox, almost all in terrible shape. Prices weren't exactly a bargain either andrew e and Cord Fourteener
