The Korova milkbar sold milk-plus, milk plus vellocet or synthemesc or drencrom, which is what we were drinking. This would sharpen you up and make you ready for a bit of the old ultra-violence. Rightly chuffed with this one, I didn't set out to build a Clockwork Orange Durango 95 replica, but in most of the pics I found of the Adams Probe 16 it was orange. I've tried to emulate the partly orange interior I saw in one, but the black louvre comes from another. Dinky wheels took a fair bit of work to squeeze them underneath. By strange coincidence, the Clockwork car seems to wear wheels similar to the fronts I've chosen I really didn't fancy trying to paint the orange areas on the glass but I'd have a go if I found another donor. You can't tell here but it was another 3 wheeled wonder Good lord. That's fantastic. bunglebus

RoadworkUK
My bout of strict cold turkey came to an abrupt end yesterday at the Beautiful Days festival.Among the stalls full of tie-dyed scarves, Vietnamese worry beads, Afghan Wigs and t-shirts with crass slogans, one had tubs of old toys for sale.I allowed myself a dive, and am very glad I did. Procurements, for a quid apiece, were a green superfast Mercury station wagon (with dags) in gently playworn and intact condition. Nice enough. The star, though, is a near-immaculate Superkings K-12 "Hercules" mobile crane, even bearing the original paper stickers. I know these odd fantasy contraptions aren't everybody's idea of a good time, but the idea of this one surviving four decades before being rescued from a £1 tat bin at a music festival appeals immenseley. Apols for terrible pic composure and hellish white balance (the consequence of being taken in a bright red tent). flat4alfa, Datsuncog, MarvinsMom and 3 others

I mean, just look at it The swing mechanism turns 360 degrees; the boom is also diecast and detailed; the telescopic boom extends by the same again, although is plastic, as is the hook There are four extendible outriggers too. Piggy was less than impressed though Whoever at Lesney thought to glaze over a massive detailed V8 (with individual heads!) created a master piece that in real life surely would create a right din for the cab occupants, already suffering from the heat in their over-glazed greenhouse I wonder how much Laing paid Matchbox to run it in their livery to make it at least seem authentic? Datsuncog
Yes, Friday Tatday - and while some new stuff has indeed been forthcoming, I don't think it's gonna set anyone's heart a-flutter... We were promised boxed buses, and boxed buses there are - priced at £5 for single items, and £10 for twin-packs. But, it has to be said that these are rather more the 1/50 Corgi Classics and rehashed 'collector' versions of their 1980s toys than the 00 scale OOC/EFE stuff that tends to find favour. This kinda thing: Plaxton operated by Notts City Coaches is finished pleasingly in AS racing colours, mind. Plaxton and Metrobus are both in East Kent livery; blue Metro is from Bradford. More Yorkshire in the form of a Todmorden Atlantean (?) then a Leicester Midland Fox Metrobus. Plus a Thorneycroft truck (there are a lot of Thorneycroft trucks here - so many I didn't bother taking pics of them all, but if you're keen...) Double-packs of Bedford OB and AEC Regal single-deck coaches, all still in their wrapping and looking like they've rarely, if ever, been out of their boxes. Tenner on these doubles. Unhappy mix of scales in this Gosport & Fareham 'Provincial Set': Southend Plaxton in a just-big-enough cardboard box, the like of which is unfamiliar to me, plus a Leeds Metrobus. Still a fiver on these. The only OOC set I could see: 'Dorset Delights' - also £10 here. Cheaper than new, it's true. Stray Matchbox Dinky commercials were in evidence too - the Sharp's Toffee Commer was snapped up quickly however; I didn't even see it go. Bedford OB Pantechnicons also provided a showing: And inside this mystery box: Another OB carrier. Trams and all: And a toy-release Metrobus in Strathclyde colours: These Model Ts were nice, but not really my bag. More Model T action up top, with what looked like a 1/18 Franklin Mint Ford Model T and 1/24 Rolls Royce: £45 each on these; the Ford was very nicely finished, with upholstered leather-effect seats and everything. 1/18 Corgi MGB Roadster may have been a similar price; all I know is that it was Nemesis'd in short order. Ah well. I couldn't have lived with the terribly rendered numberplates anyway. Older stuff pretty much comprised only this #241 Dinky Silver Jubilee FX4 Taxi... And just the utter dregs of the Lesney gear left: None of your requested items this week @egg - sorry! Though I did spot the boat trailer from the Corgi Buick Riviera Holiday Gift Set lurking in there. This was quite interesting, though: Taiyo tinplate Beetle Peelermobile, approx 1/18 scale, and in reasonable fettle bar a missing wheeltrim. Some sort of bump & go action evidenced. Is it worth £20? I dunno, but that's the asking. Market Blokey also advised he had a 1/18 Franklin Mint Fire Engine for £100, but not yet out on display. I advised that it wasn't quite my bag, but I'd let people know... So that was it for the Tat Stall, bar a few other non-diecast oddities... Creepy Rupert. Some sort of Sony portable TV/cassette jobber, which probably cost more than a house in 1983. I took a brief spin round the other stalls, but there was nearly nowt of interest - Paddy's Overpriced Market had singularly failed to shift any of the diecast offered up in recent weeks, unsurprisingly. Since he's looking a fiver a throw, I'm hardly surprised... He was busy crapping on to some punter about a bound set of provincial newspapers from 1906 he had for sale, "that's worth £500... I looked it up online..." Aye, whatever you reckon. The Charity Stall only had a plastic Fast & Furious action figure SWAT Jeep-type thing, which the stallholder was trying to palm off on The Nemesis, amusingly. I don't know if he succeeded, but it was gone on my next pass by the stall. So, there we go... I've a couple of messages to run in Belfast this morning, so if there's anything you can't live without, give me a shout... I daresay I'll be around for another half-hour. Til next week! egg, bunglebus, andrew e and 3 others 1

junkyarddog
I've got a plastic version of that tin plate beetle. The mechanism underneath stops it falling from a table top. I really don't know why this particular charity shop keeps getting old diecasts in, but long may it continue. First up, mostly 70s Matchbox. I did look for the skip from the Skip Truck to no avail A handful of Corgis. Growlers Marcos is cool Last of the small stuff, a few Hong Kong specials. I think I can ID the tank as it has W.T. 311 on the base and I've seen this type of marking before.
