Postage depends a bit how many you buy. Crapi is £3.58 and £1.95 shipping. The Blue Shark is currently £5.73, quite a lot but not seen it anywhere else. There were other interesting ones but the prices are insane - £25 for the Mercedes. Think this Porsche is the Opening Parts model

Do they have any new stuff in The Entertainer?

I do like the Gamma Berlina, especially the last ones, which must have been a bastard to shift new. I would imagine they are practically extinct now though through the PAS pump chucking the belt off or the dreaded rust?

No there are two on the forum

One Berlina, one Coupe

Lots of Hot Wheels, not a lot else. Been keeping an eye on the Moving Parts range but it's the same ones every time. Might have a mooch around tomorrow actually

More postal fun at Cog Central over the past few days:

75642125_IMG_20210702_1751512.thumb.jpg.bf9214cb04b2d0bfffbd8eb7c600e9f6.jpg

Some fine diecast literature arrived, courtesy of @C1am; many thanks for these! They'll likely provide me with all sorts of fascinating facts on little-known manufacturers with which to enthral* all and sundry.

And then this somewhat alarmingly labelled envelope arrived:

556950275_IMG_20210702_1748452.thumb.jpg.a376f007dc12e3a3c1bd7dc88f63db10.jpg

And within was...

1281916571_IMG_20210702_1745412.thumb.jpg.5f85f01b0cebe26ae93ecf7b4397afbe.jpg

Well, blow me down - anonymous fan mail, and an Ulsterbus Coach card model!

Crikey.

I did once have one of these - I believe I acquired it from the Translink/Ulsterbus stall at a careers fair, c.1995. It lived atop my wardrobe for many happy, if slightly dusty, years - and I've no idea where it went.

I'd be genuinely interested to know who my generous mystery benefactor is, and also where on earth they managed to find this treasure. Whoever you are - many thanks!

And then, another somewhat bashed-about parcel rocked up:

1220155701_IMG_20210706_1956483.thumb.jpg.fb8c688ce42e3ca4df379a75129000e0.jpg Containing...errr...

Initially I thought I'd lucked out with a double bubble delivery of triangular screwdriver bits, but a brief look through my eBay history revealed that I'd ordered two sets very late one night - and then evidently forgotten all about it and ordered another two sets a day or two later.

FFS.

Then, MrsDC emptied out the bowl of general clutter that's been stewing in the kitchen for months - containing useful* things like solitary sticky fixers, and random screws that I find in the pockets of coats I haven't worn for months - and oh look:

282722641_IMG_20210706_1957382.thumb.jpg.ad73c9a7e3b88271ccc499ac5b2aa775.jpg

My original set of bits wasn't lost at all; it was right under my nose the whole time.

*sigh*

Anyone want to buy some triangular screwdriver bits?

But never mind; there's been some more hot eBay action occuring, and with any luck some interesting items should be touching down by the end of the week.

Stay tuned!

Hot Wheels Matra Murena

I fished this out recently

It now looks like this

IMG_0666.JPG.c2d1c0468a0ddc4ca3e71e1d1612ab5b.JPG

Red with a tan interior for this three-seater, resembling one I was chasing in real life a few years back, but didn't buy in the end

IMG_0670.JPG.27569a5c315a6d12bafde4a07e4dc322.JPG

Detailing was a bit clumsy.  But Mebetoys's drop in casting quality and the plastic lower-half wasn't top-notch to start with

I like that, looks fantastic, just shows how much better things can look when it’s not got all those crappy stickers all over it and it’s depicting an actual car.

It is indeed Tatty Wednesday, so here we go;

Found another Corgi sold as a Hot Wheels, Porsche 956

20210707_15594720210707_16003720210707_160044

I've been chasing one of these Dinky Superior Criterion ambulances for a while, usually they're missing the tailgate and/or expensive. Only problem being, by hedging my bets (well bids), I've won two...

20210707_16014220210707_160151

Only other significant arrival is this Field Car in a less common colour scheme. Missing the spare tyre which is quite annoying as I just sold the common one with the spare in place. I'll have a hunt through the spares box

I tidied the garage up last weekend and it's now quite a pleasant place to be so I've made a start on this poor thing...

https://autoshite.com/uploads/monthly_2021_02/20210204_215019.jpg.fcc292c73bbf6842def0be3999f48f02.jpg

...that was donated by the smashing Dick Longbridge a few months back in a deal with a Spidervan that was in slightly better condition.

It's looking surprisingly promising now (roof straightened, paint stripped, new windows on order) but I need to do something about the wheels.

Any suggestions where I can lay my hands new Matchbox wheels?

I haven't got any the same as the original Roadblasters, but I've got loads of normal Matchbox wheels, as well as various other brands if you want a set?

Yes please, whatever you've got really.

It's going to a white Police livery like this...

image.jpeg.c59811165c3bd960a1c6dc02aa6e4e8c.jpeg

...so I was hoping to get hold of wheels something like that.

I thought somebody must be flogging new ones on Ebay but apparently not.

The current wheels are 11mm diameter and the axles are 26mm long.

I cleaned it after those last pics

I have a couple of those 1961 Pontiac-chassised ambulances; one looking much as above, one a later issue with battery-powered lighting which was blue and white, but missing the rear door.  Said door is available (I must remember to order one) so at the moment it's in my shed, awaiting a further coat of blue on the lower panels.

Meanwhile, remember my Dinky Standard Atlas minibus?

545600243_HB040.thumb.jpg.c34dda6f37d9f7e2252503da4d79bd92.jpg

Yes, this one, that I was converting into a van for the Personal History fleet.  Well now it looks like this...

1329460825_HB016.thumb.jpg.8c32d6688eae6dd3b5e965e2bac2a3f4.jpg

All painted up and reassembled :)  I would suggest this as a candidate for Oxford Diecast to model.

Now if you know your old Dinky Toys, you'll remember this came with glazing and a vac-form red interior, with minibus seating.  I, erm.... broke the glazing while stripping it down, but I thought, that's ok, Steve Flowers will have one.  Er, no, apparently not.  Not available.  I was going to make new glazing, which I can do, I've had plenty of practice and I keep a stock of clear packaging on hand.  Then I thought, well I don't really need the interior either.  Red would be wrong, and the original vehicle was a plain van which didn't have all those seats anyway.  So I simply rolled it back to a slightly earlier era of Dinky, when they had neither.  It's now on display as you see it.

Incidentally, the glazing thing also happened when I dismantled my Dinky Range Rover (like the Atlas, owned from new).  This time I will have to make the glazing, as the RR has a lovely pale blue injection-moulded interior and a full set of opening doors, etc.  Can't get away with a rewind on this one!
