That dealer Skoda packaging is excellent - did he have anymore?  The Laguna is pretty smart too!

Sadly the Yeti was the only one there, I've never seen anything like it before. All the Skoda dealer models I've seen have been on the standard perspex box & plinth with branded cardboard outer.

Time to tease you again with some of my projects!  These are what I've drilled today and put in the stripping bath...

L-R: Austin A40 Devon commercial; Ford E83W commercial; Hillman Hunter; E-Type Jag; XJ6.  The two vans will go into the Family collection, as seen int the Family Pics thread.  The Hunter will also go into that fleet, on the Peripheral shelf, to represent the brand-new Hunter driven from Edinburgh to Zambia by some friends I met in Cyprus.  The two Jags are going in the Film/TV fleet: the E-type chased David Niven in the first Casino Royale (and will entail buying a tin of lemon yellow) and the XJ will become silver, as in Arfur Daley's car in Minder.

The Hunter is going to need a touch of P38 to the roof.  I need to buy some more, because I've got another one needing filler...

Dinky Standard Atlas minibus.  When I were nobbut a saucepan we had one, for about a week; a plain van in pale blue.  Notice, however, that Dinky saw fit to frame the minibus windows with a pronounced ledge, all the way round.  So this happened...

1414709397_RR058.thumb.jpg.e5a2a9bce35297c52056919b290b4b1e.jpg

The not-a-Dremel came out and I've burred the frames away.  Now I need some filler to fill in the windows.  Bit of rubbing down, bit more primer, and it'll be ready for some pale blue.  Unfortunately, and unusually for me, I don't remember the number plate, and I have no pics of the van so this is all from memory.

Evening all - fear not, I haven't been ignoring the PMs and messages because I've done a runner with all the diecast; just took a bit of a break today as I think yesterday might have been a bit more exciting than anticipated...

Will go through the lists of requests etc tomorrow and advise on model availabilities, and also current tat-box contents/ total, where requested!

Headed home with a bag of bits.

Here's some of the other things I saw along the way

Fake Dunlop wheel trim. Just the one - I bought the foot pump though

Bargain at £10

Surprised no-one grabbed this

PC?

I love this but what would I do with it?

Old Ammaco was £40

The morning started cool and overcast, but the clouds (of cannabis smoke mostly) soon parted, revealing copies of Katie Price's biographies, worn out lawnmowers and even a bathtub. Also, die casts. There were some familiar sellers still trying to peddle the same stuff that was there weeks ago at over-inflated prices, but also some new faces with bargains - I even got a couple of freebies! Highest price I paid was 6 for £5, but most were 10-50p each

I might have to break this up into a few posts but here are some of this morning's goodies.

Matchbox Ferrari Berlinetta has been on my hit list for a while, not a Ferrari guy but these are quite pretty

20210530_113648

Matchbox Ford Group 6, I have loads of these so one more can't hurt

20210530_113714

Marzal with wheel alignment problems

20210530_113749

Tidy Bora

20210530_113815

With roof but without spare tyre - only clocked the MK1 Cortina/CND rear lights when I took this pic

20210530_113917

I can't resist a Mod Rod

20210530_113940

Gruesome Twosome with full complement of engines

20210530_114015

Funny old world - it was only yesterday one of these was offered up for £4 @Spottedlaurel

20210530_114043

I have two spare doors for this after confirming that they don't fit the earlier green version

20210530_114131

Acquired because it's the earlier version with licence plates...

20210530_114202

...and because I hadn't seen this in black. It's a bit broken but at least the spoiler's intact

20210530_114225

Short one axle but I have spares

20210530_114256

RRRumblers Roamin Candle a bit busted but couldn't leave it behind

20210530_114333

Complete whores box

20210530_114418

The smaller Husky tanker, because it still has the cap in the back

20210530_114446

This is quite a decent score - Rockets Morgan. Factory error with the windscreen backwards?

20210530_11452220210530_114527

Stay tuned...

Into commercial stuff now, thought this was a Tonka but it's Tri-Ang

20210530_115342

20210530_115333

and I found another

20210530_120019

Corgi Major crane is obviously missing some vital parts but may well help another one get restored

20210530_11543920210530_115448

Kingsize Hydraulic Excavator isn't in bad shape...

20210530_115532

But this one is better

20210530_115624

Lesney Ruston Bucyrus is a new one on me

20210530_115748

As is this - made in France and has 5 little dudes on board

20210530_11591820210530_11595020210530_115959

Dinky Ford D800 is uber cool

20210530_120112

But seems to be missing some essential parts

20210530_120119

Very tidy, complete Superkings Fire Tender has decent ladder reach

20210530_12023720210530_120255

Siku Mercedes LP 608 has funky green glass...

20210530_120410

...shame it's missing one of the two ramps

20210530_120352

King Size Leyland Tipper has lost the rear gate and one tyre, plus its hydraulic ram(?)

20210530_120438

King Size Ford Tractor is also missing...something

20210530_12054220210530_120614

Superkings DAF has already dropped its load

20210530_120630

This was a freebie that I nearly missed - after clearing the table of the majority of the seller's 50p bits, he picked this up and said "Lone Star - never heard of them". I have

20210530_12212320210530_122129

Part three coming up...

Into bigger cars now, Corgi Corvette has the usual broken bumpers

20210530_122149

And this Toyota 2000GT has lost part of its screen - beautiful colour though

20210530_12222520210530_122313

C111  prepares for take off

20210530_122506

Land Rover has broken glass but I hadn't seen one with a winch before

20210530_122536

Someone cranked up the boost too high and cracked the supercharger on their Milligan's Mill

20210530_122649

Cambuster has no engine but full complement of exhausts

20210530_122745

Slightly less than £1 netted me this 505, it's missing a headlight

20210530_122810

This was probably my best car find, despite odd distortion in the wheelarches. 50p's worth of Corgi Mercedes Pullman limo

@Amishtat It was indeed me, how much for this beauty?

Sorry, I got sidetracked and am now home. It probably won't be much, almost every item of his stock which interested me was very reasonably priced. Will definitely see him again, if it's still there and reasonable I'll  grab it for you.

This was only my second visit to my new local* boot sale (55mile round trip) and it's a good bit smaller than the Essex ones I was used to but the sun was out and it was nice to be outside on a Sunday morning. There seems to be one dedicated diecast regular here, last time we got to chatting and before long he was imploring me to join his Faceache group (Dumfries diecast, if anyone's interested) but I don't have a profile on there and don't intend to start now. Nonetheless he evidently noticed me from a good twenty yards this morning and immediately beckoned me over, saying something like "you like the older stuff don't you?". This is only just not quite my cup of tea, but sort of too nice to leave, if you see what I mean. One scratch on the rear screen, fairly filthy but intact interior (that poor chauffeur seems to be regretting last night's lamb jalfrezi..) and relatively minor chipping. The most expensive item of the morning at eight quid, if anyone fancies it speak up.

No worries. If it's sub £5 I'll definitely have it next time if it's still available. Cheers for the mention.

This is a keeper however. Come across a few of these over the last couple of years and have always managed to justify not buying one. Certainly better and considerably less expensive than the one in the Sawbridgeworth junk shop which was the last one to niggle me. Actually quite a good effort made by Corgi, particularly the dashboard. Never really appreciated that before now.

It's a lovely sunny afternoon here, definitely the warmest this year so far. Lying in the garden I can hear a good number of motorcycles heading through the Mennock Pass. Can't blame them either, it's a fine scenic drive. However, you all know what that means.. The fuzz are here. Dumfries-shire plod clearly haven't had any new kit for a looong time. They haven't even got a radio or a boot full of shit, how can they carry on? They do have another fine dashboard to look at though. Happy to pass this on if one of you wants it, it was too nice to leave behind at three quid.
