Split_Pin
Postman dropped this off this morning. It's the only model of a facelift Cavalier I could find in a fairly basic trim like mine. They are usually about £35 on eBay but this was £12 posted from France. It's actually from Jumajo which explains that. Both rear tyres are hanging off but apart from that it's decent. Datsuncog
So what else was there amongst the other stalls this week? Well, a quick squizz revealed nothing at all new, or of any specific interest within pecuniary limits, on any of the other stalls. Boooo. Paddy, of Paddy's Market fame, apparently couldn't even be arsed tipping his overpriced wares out onto the table in its customary haphazard fashion; pretty much everything remained boxed up today. If we were to start seeing £2 sales here, I'd be all over some of this - but sadly, pricing here remains somewhat aspirational... Since his pre-Covid customer demographic appeared to be mainly overseas tourists with a shaky grasp of currency exchange rates, I imagine these will all be here for a while yet. The Irish Tat stall continues to tempt me on a low-level with Oxford Diecast Capris and Escorts, but I haven't yet been enthusiastic/ desperate enough for a diecast fix to put my hand in my pocket for these - well, not since last year when I picked up a red 1/76 Mk2 Escort on a day when Market Blokey was absent. Where else can you score a purple 1600E Ezzy, a solar-powered dancing leprechaun and a tacky Holy Water font in the same place? Nowhere, that's where. The Charity Stall had nothing new, and was indeed now missing the Buddy L Kenworth tow truck, leaving only four incomplete Tonka trucks, a Lesney bullldozer with most bits missing, a very rough Corgi Berliet tractor unit that (I think) once upon a time pulled the Dolphinarium trailer, and that British Airways Ford Transit minibus with collapsed axles. Anything taking your fancy? No, me neither. But this stall has previously been the source of some outstanding stuff, including all those Dinky Police Transits last year, so I'll continue to keep checking in here. Alan's Emporium was even more bereft of diecast tat than last week - if you went looking for Matchbox this week, this was all you were gonna get: So that was pretty much that, for this week - but nice to see some fresh stuff coming through, however knackered, as it at least raises some hopes of interesting finds yet to come. And that's what keeps me coming back for more, week after week, a-tremble at the market gates with dry-mouthed anticipation before the clock strikes 8 - with the same hopes and dreams fluttering through my addled mind as when I would arrive at the school's May Festival, or the annual diecast swapmeet at the leisure centre, all those years ago. I guess there's a sense of possibility that feels a bit lacking elsewhere in the world, that anything could be on the stall, ripe for the finding - and sometimes, diecast dreams do come true. I haven't yet had a chance to take proper pics of the morning haul, but it's bus-heavy... ...and made up of prior requests from a fortnight ago, fulfilled with a sense of pleasant surprise. Also some other items, most of which are already under dibs for specific Shiters... Solido Range Rover and Welly Corrado are up for grabs, though! For now though, work is calling and I must go, to sort out a load of shiz in the office - but I'll hopefully be able to scoot back over before lunchtime, to see if there's anything new. barrett
I think earlier versions of the 124 had opening doors (check the shut lines on this one) But you're right, the shape isn't quite right. barrett
It's a tricky one. I might revert to K70 actually, assuming you could also get those with opening doors. I've never seen one but possibly all the early castings had them, and they all changed later on? There does seem to be a bit of variation.
flat4alfa
Polistil K70 does have a flatter boot lid compared to Majorette. But filler cap is on other side. The rear panel has a square number plate mount, so I'm still thinking an Italian

Datsuncog
Well, bit of a jumbled day with work and whatnot, but I did manage to take a final dash into the market just after 1pm - only to find Market Blokey packing up the last of the stall. Well, balderdash. He did peel back the tarps to allow me a bit of a rummage in the 'car box', but sadly no Fiat Multipla was evident. It may have sold, or it may just be in another box - but, if it is, I'll hopefully nab it next week! Further detail on the Corgi Heavy Haulage bogey - there's two dozen tyres there, people. Interested? So, no more purchases today. By the time I made it home there were other things to contend with, so - belatedly - here's what was in the bags... With the 1/76 buses back for a repeat performance, there were a fair few requests to search for in the box, some with more success than others: I believe @tom13 had expressed an interest in this MBE model of a Duple Metsec bodied Dennis Dragon, complete with an ad for what appears to be 'Flower Paint'? If you still fancy it, it's yours for £2 +post fella - if not, it's for anyone who wants it. I believe there was a general plea for Checkmate models from @quicksilver - how does this GZK 6100D-T grab you? Also £2. There were some nostalgia buttons to be twiddled by this York Rider Leyland National for @Jon... Will pop this one in with the others! £2, again. There had also been a general expression of interest from @Noel Tidybeard in the Bosch and Bridgestone no-name buses: Yours if you fancy them; £2 a throw, and they seem relatively unscathed despite being flung around in boxes. Moving on to the larger-scale stuff, I believe @eddyramrod had been smitten with the MoY Lincoln Zephyr last week... The glazing seems to have gone missing, but otherwise this should scrub up ok. Also £2! Plus, this one had also been called for by Eddy just a little bit late, way back in December - I'd already headed on when I saw the request, and then I didn't see it on the stall again. MTech Models Nissan Cedric 'Patorol Car' That's what it says. Not super-detailed, but not a bad 1/43-ish rendering of the big Y33 Cedric. The best bit: this was £5 last year, but only £2 today. Will throw these two in with your other treasures, if you still fancy them! The Solido Range Rover rescue vehicle goes well with the Land Rover I scored last week; only when I got home last Friday and reviewed the photos did I realise I should have bought it too. But here it still was, and at only £2, too. Opening doors and RHD, surprisingly. I kinda like this, but happy to re-home it if anyone takes a shine to it! Also seeking a home is this 1/34-ish VW Corrado, by Welly. Certainly more of a toy than a model, with a pull-back motor and opening doors and boot, but not a bad rendering and a bit unusual. Screwed-on base should make for an easy restoration, should anyone wish to re-do this in VW Dragon Green - or any other colour you might fancy. Available to anyone who wants it at - you guessed it - £2. (Basically, he charged me £22 for 11 models, so I'm not gonna complicate matters here.) And lastly, the Lucky Toys Lonesome Onesome: Now, the stickers are not quite complete, and in fairness @flat4alfa did request it right off the mark, having spotted it amidst the detritus - so, given the legal precedent of first come = first served, I think this one's going in the F4A box. But, as a consolation prize, I swung by Home Bargains on my way home, and: A set of Taxis of the World each, for @bunglebus and for @Lord Sterling Officially licensed and all. None of yer knock-off shit here. No siree. But, oddly, when I took this photo a little box popped up asking if I wanted to open the QR code link... ...and when I tapped on it, my phone brought up a website shouting about counterfeit goods funding terrorism, and asking me for my location. In fright, I ejected out of the tab immediately. DAMMIT DEEP STATE, GET OUT OF MY TAT FRIDAY So yeah - some old, some new; and some early posts and some late posts. Bit of everything, really.
