Sun is shining and the smell of cheap burgers and weed wafts gently in the breeze. Must mean the boot sale is on (seriously, who smokes weed at 7am on a Sunday?)

I was a bit low on cash this week and walked away from a fair few things I felt were overpriced, so most of my haul was 50p/you can have the lot for a couple of quid M9 stuff.

ET was pretty cool but at £125 he can find his own way home

Literally nobody. Seller is possibly one of those lunatics who is utterly potless but thinks everything you have is worth nothing and everything they have is worth a million pounds. The same sort that sells ancient rusty tools from the bottom of a damp box and broken vacuum cleaners.

Totally. Last week there was a guy selling old tools, old spades etc he’s found in a tip and painted with some hammerite, he was wanting more than it would be to buy new ones.

Hoping @flat4alfacan help ID this one - I had this 930 as part of a slot car set as a kid, think it was paired with a red Firebird/TransAm

That came from one of the sellers asking too much, he had a tin full of quite interesting stuff that I assumed was 50p, but at £2 a pop it all went back in other than this. Stupid really as I probably would have spend more if they'd been less

This was a bit of a score, sitting on its own away from the seller's 50p box, assumed it would be £££ but no - 50p. My friend's son would love it but not sure I can bring myself to give it to him!

I'm really not a fan of the Coca Cola company, but this Majorette Jeep Cherokee (got it right this time) was too clean to pass up

I left lots of newer Hot Wheels behind, but despite being broken, this VW based sand rail (Rock buster) came home with me

I bought dozens of older Matchbox, here are a few of the better ones

Can't resist a Vantastic - Mr. £2 a pop had the exposed engine version

Grabbed two of these, one is missing an axle

I still don't get what these little lorries are all about...

...but it came with a spare trailer

A while ago I was complaining that I don't have a good Fandango, and since then I've been outbid/sniped on several. 50p score!

One of two large Lone Star scores, I saw some kid holding this but he put it back, snatched it immediately

That one ^ came as part of a £2 deal including this Matchbox Unimog and trailer

Commercial vehicles aren't my thing for the most part, but as I have the Tarmac Mazda B1600 and trailer, this ended up in my bag 

This has to be my #1 find today though - having bought the Batcopter and a handful of 50p cars and moved on, I caught up with the mrs, who asked if I'd seen the big box of cars a few rows back. Having found it, it was the same guy - but I hadn't noticed this on the floor

Boom has some serious reach!

Think it should have some supporting legs to go in those holes, but other than that it's complete and in pretty good shape for its age - 60's - early 70's?

The Mobil Grand Prix cars are Corgi 1989, not sure about the Ambulance, the Pepsi van is 1978 Matchbox, Eddie Stobbart is 1997 Corgi.

After a deeply annoying morning for anything Volvo related (V70 died a mile from the house, 164 died on its arse at auction shortly thereafter), it's very probably tempting fate to be sitting in the 740 to take these pictures but there we are. Not long back from the boot sale and while I didn't do as well as Bunglebus, it wasn't a wasted trip. Not really a fan of service vehicles but this seemed too nice not to pick up.

The seller had a big plastic tub of cars which he'd brought with him by mistake,he said he hadn't been through them yet & didn't really want to sell any.

He was happy to let these few go though.The Escort was in pieces & I had to look through to find all the bits.The bobsled is one I already had,but this one is better & has now got the plastic bumper fitted from my old one.

I wouldn't normally buy a cheap Chinese version of a Mini,but it's got cats on it 😎.The only other thing I bought was the mug behind it,which Miss_155 said reminded her of me 🤔

This is about as early as I go in terms of interest in Dinkys, but it's in nice enough nick, is only missing one tyre and crucially was the one Studebaker I hadn't got.

There wasn't much else on that seller's stall of much interest, mostly Corgi Classics and three or four boxed 1:18 Buragos, but once he'd established I was after older stuff he rummaged in a box behind the table and resurfaced bearing this aloft. Not quite my bag but it's in good enough condition, glazing is unmarked and it's a pretty fine casting altogether. The biggest price tag of the day at six quid, if anyone fancies it I'm happy to rehome it.

I also picked up one of those today, but it was squashed with broken pillars, and in the "£2 m9" box. So it stayed there

This was three quid but that seemed reasonable. No real damage apart from the blue light, I'd rather it was a civvy one but there aren't many Whizzwheels I like so it'll do until a bronze one comes along. Incidentally there was a chap at the sale this morning who could almost have been your double. If I didn't know the flux capacitor in your Passat wasn't working I'd have sworn it was you, I almost waved at him.

I now realise my diecast purchasing issues are relatively tame in comparison! 😅

She also came in while I was sorting them out and saying there were two the same, saw her eyes glaze over when I started talking about different colour bases, wheel types etc...

Here's the Polistil ovloV all done. My phone really doesn't like the white so had to mess with the settings a bit

Headlights aren't as good as I hoped, made out of plastic sheet, painted and pattern drawn on in pencil, then clear glue over the top to give the appearance of a lens.

This was the inspiration for the paint

I've been developing a deep appreciation for early Lesney King Size, and I haven't yet acquired this casting... good home assured, if you're happy to pass it on!

I know for a fact given half the chance mine would chuck my old cars in the skip. She pretty much said this last week, I don’t know where else apart from the loft to store them where I know they’ll not get binned. The only alternative is taking the lot down to my dads but I don’t fancy a 520 mile round trip at the moment.
