TatiExpress for me too today!  Super-quick postage, considering the distance and cheapness of the carriage - i.e. 'free postage'

Also suffered the bendy cards, but I am not complaining because I have saved 1) the petrol money, by not scouting three counties of Tescos, 2) the planet, by not burning the petrol by scouting three counties of Tescos in vain

Bertie was intrigued by the Pinyin and might be fluent before the week is out

Had a look in the usual suspects today, Smyths have F+F Euro stuff so BMW E36 and E46 and some others - there's a Jag too

only thing I bought was in BuM, Mars Perseverance Rover. After losing my wallet and shitting myself while retracing my steps. Found it thankfully

Ordered both the Morris Oxford Coupe and the Ford Capri together, for £6.39 after tax and 'free' shipping, and using discount coupon.  Arrived 10 days later

Xtoys Store

It seems the search engine is bit rubbish

WHO DID IT WORSE?

The 1975-81 Mack F-series semi-tractor.

_76_20Mack_20Cruise-Liner.jpg.6a5c06c153257d11887917c3b6852b2a.jpg

The white one is tin-plate and states Buddy L Corp. Japan

The red one is die-cast and unbranded, but it states Mack Cruiseliner 1/45 Made in Macau

The Mack Cruise-Liner was the 'fancier' version of Mack's 'F' model cab-over trucks. It had more chrome & a better interior than the 'regular' cab-over.

Why do I like Cruise-Liners?

Because of Pig Pen's 'Love Machine'

So, where do you all keep your diecast? I had to seriously thin out my more recent purchases as I'm trying to keep 95% of it in two large boxes under the spare room bed. My issue is that I've got a fairly addictive personality, so have to work really hard to rein things in!

Until we moved, and in so doing finding a bunch of stuff I'd forgotten even having, I hadn't realised just how much of it there is.. It's all still in boxes at the moment in the attic until the house is decorated and the new carpets laid, I was hoping to have one of the upstairs back bedrooms but the management's extensive collection of old audio equipment has pretty much filled it. However, I've been using the attic in the barn as a parts store so I might put some shelves up in here and a cabinet or two if they come up at a reasonable price. Excuse the mess, pretty much everything out of the shed was stuffed into two Volvos when we left and hurriedly decanted a month ago.

Attic in the barn. Winning.

That's undoubtedly the ultimate hidey hole for a chap and his diecast collection.

Mostly in plastic storage boxes in the loft, with four display cabinets for the nicest ones. Thankfully the loft is large and I've boarded it and put lights in, so I can sit up there and sort them out

White helmets here, although perhaps it's because it's further north.. I don't know. A shopping trip to Dumfries was made worthwhile this morning when we went past a junk shop which was actually open. I wasn't expecting anything before Monday, but haven't really been paying much attention. My diecast senses were twitching as soon as we were inside (getting in practice for the boot sales) and the quarry located. Corgi XJS was quite clean for a fiver and there's two Corgi Rally Beetles in there, one missing a bonnet.

Finally this. I do have a better civilian one in green with a wonky rear bumper so it was nice to find this complete and just asking for a repaint better than the gold Humbrol/shaving brush effort it currently sports. It was the first thing I spotted, thought it was a Dinky until I picked it up. Some interesting corrosion on the drivers' corner but it should clean up alright. I think the wheels are different on the green one and it doesn't have white tyres from memory. Will have to go and excavate it later.

Thought I got this one from you. Maybe not. Mine has a loose rear bumper too

No, mine is a bit tidier than that. Got it with the Cadillac which went to you and the Corvair which might have ended up with the Doctor. Although yours has white tyres  so perhaps mine does too. Cba to go and look now.

Yum. I have the red one but I'd like that too. Think that should have done it purple to much the 2nd colour they released originally

I agree on the purple, it's my favourite out of the three, seems the best quality too.
