Dick Longbridge
So, where do you all keep your diecast? I had to seriously thin out my more recent purchases as I'm trying to keep 95% of it in two large boxes under the spare room bed. My issue is that I've got a fairly addictive personality, so have to work really hard to rein things in!
flat4alfa
WHO DID IT WORSE? The 1975-81 Mack F-series semi-tractor. The white one is tin-plate and states Buddy L Corp. Japan The red one is die-cast and unbranded, but it states Mack Cruiseliner 1/45 Made in Macau The Mack Cruise-Liner was the 'fancier' version of Mack's 'F' model cab-over trucks. It had more chrome & a better interior than the 'regular' cab-over. Why do I like Cruise-Liners? Because of Pig Pen's 'Love Machine' Quote Ah, breaker one-nine, this here's the Rubber Duck You gotta copy on me, Pig Pen, c'mon? Ah, yeah, 10-4, Pig Pen, fer shure, fer shure By golly, it's clean clear to Flag Town, c'mon AndyW201, eddyramrod, Datsuncog and 2 others

Until we moved, and in so doing finding a bunch of stuff I'd forgotten even having, I hadn't realised just how much of it there is.. It's all still in boxes at the moment in the attic until the house is decorated and the new carpets laid, I was hoping to have one of the upstairs back bedrooms but the management's extensive collection of old audio equipment has pretty much filled it. However, I've been using the attic in the barn as a parts store so I might put some shelves up in here and a cabinet or two if they come up at a reasonable price. Excuse the mess, pretty much everything out of the shed was stuffed into two Volvos when we left and hurriedly decanted a month ago. Mostly in plastic storage boxes in the loft, with four display cabinets for the nicest ones. Thankfully the loft is large and I've boarded it and put lights in, so I can sit up there and sort them out Dick Longbridge and Burnside

A shopping trip to Dumfries was made worthwhile this morning when we went past a junk shop which was actually open. I wasn't expecting anything before Monday, but haven't really been paying much attention. My diecast senses were twitching as soon as we were inside (getting in practice for the boot sales) and the quarry located. Corgi XJS was quite clean for a fiver and there's two Corgi Rally Beetles in there, one missing a bonnet. Amishtat
So, the white helmets.. These just had to be rescued from the box as I've never had any, although I know they've been mentioned here before. Amishtat
This Minix Corsair was in there too, along with a similar example in red missing its axles and an 1100 and HA Viva similarly afflicted. Amishtat
Finally this. I do have a better civilian one in green with a wonky rear bumper so it was nice to find this complete and just asking for a repaint better than the gold Humbrol/shaving brush effort it currently sports. It was the first thing I spotted, thought it was a Dinky until I picked it up. Some interesting corrosion on the drivers' corner but it should clean up alright. I think the wheels are different on the green one and it doesn't have white tyres from memory. Will have to go and excavate it later. eddyramrod, Datsuncog, flat4alfa and 4 others

Isopon
These arrived today The quality is rather good, but the Nissan's tailgate is a different shade with insufficient coverage on the bottom and the Buick's driver side door doesn't open/ close properly. Other than that, I'm rather pleased with them. AndyW201, Split_Pin, puntopaul and 5 others

sierraman
I’ve ended up making some axles from some jumbo paper clips. Unfortunately to make some wheels for the Zephyr, a Corgi Classics Morris 1000 pick up died. It’ll have an afterlife in the garden though, a broken Renault 12 sits underneath the pyracantha on a sleeper simulating a roadway. bunglebus and Split_Pin
