Review here: https://antiquesandauctionnews.net/articles/"Toys-Of-Road-Vehicles-Made-In-New-Zealand"/

No, I wasn't aware of that one! That sounds like an interesting subject but I do wonder how much that tome will cost - books in NZ are very expensive to buy new and that's reflected in their second hand value, too. Not sure if that shows that Kiwis are being ripped off by retailers, or if people just value books in general. probably a bit of both.

The only NZ made casting I have is the Fun Ho! (! is part of the brand name) Holden ambulance, which the cat helped to photograph when I bought it 18 months back:

And in a bit more detail:

Although it's a step up from a Tootsie Toy in terms of physical parts (i.e. it has a base) and admittedly the casting and detailing is quite good, it's not quite Lesney levels of build and detail, especially for this era; I imagine they were approaching their skinny wheel Superfast period by the time this came out. So, a nice footnote but I don't think I'll be actively seeking too many others.

Finished the Range Rover. I'm pretty pleased with this one, especially the blue and pink stripes, just how I recall them.

Since I'm happy I can still make aerials like I was shown all those decades ago, I may have gone a bit overboard with these. I like them though!

Well... As a dumb kid i lost many good diecasts. And since becoming a shiter i started missing the Healey 100/6 in 1/72 scale i unfortunately broke.

As a result, i just bought another 100/6, in 1:43 scale off eBay for 9 quid...

$50? Jesus that's a lot. If only we snagged them while they were still new.

I kinda wished there was a Roewe 750 in that scale too. If anything because it would be the closest thing to me having a Rover 75 diecast, as the original Rover dealership models get rarer and more expensive

A couple of interesting bits have arrived.

First up, Mira 928 in 1:64ish scale

Next, Lone Star 23 window deluxe with all the opening bits accounted for. Missing an axle but that's a good excuse to restore it

This I wanted as it's the 1st Indian made Hot Wheels I've found - there are also Indian produced castings only for their domestic market, very hard to find

Glow in the dark Matchbox Datsun still glows

Best of the bunch is this though:

Lastly, I'll leave you with a brain teaser - what's this?

Does anyone have any recollection of these models? They seem to ring a bell...

I remember getting one of these as a kid back in the early 90's. Forget where from though, probably on a family holiday.

I had a 57 Chevy in Black and my Brother had the same Red Pontiac Grand Prix  pictured.

A few years back I picked up a Mazda RX-7 by Monogram at a local Car Show. I'll try and dig it out.

From memory they also did the BMW M3 E30 and possibly a 60's Corvette Stingray?
