Some more strange 60's plastic toys which bought on the strength of one pic. I thought they were 1:64 ish but they're big, like Tonka size

No make underneath just some numbers.

So, Topper Toys, sold as a service station set

A quick bit of Googling finds a couple of others, complete with fuel pumps and attendants but with broken and missing parts, for lots more than I paid

Been a little quite on the buying front last year, although did manage to win this joblot of spares or repair Schabak 1:43 VW's off ebay.

My reason being was I already had a Met Grey Schabak Golf, which I'd picked up previously at a car show but minus a tailgate. So that donated some parts to repair the White Golf.  Also managed to remove the white paint/ crap off the bumpers with some hot water.

The Jetta turned out to be only missing it's front lights/ bumper. So that has ended up with a Golf front end swap. Would prefer the Jetta front end,  but it will do! Might repaint this one at some point.

The Gold Golf is missing a unbroken interior, rear lights, front wheels and lights for the GTI grill still.  So that will be a spares / scarp car for the time being.  If anybody want's it though, your welcome to it for the cost of postage.

I've got a black one of those in GTi form, I particularly like it because it's a 5 door. Very nice models.

I agree they did a really nice job with the casting on both and prefer there GTI to the later Vanguards version too.

Glad I managed to get another Jetta, as I really liked the opening bonnet and boot on the one I had as a kid. Just need to get another VW Polo Breadvan like I had and then I've completed my childhood Schabak collection!

I've been on eBay tonight; I might have bought a thing, but that's not what I'm here to talk about.

What I'm here to discuss, because I think it's hilarious, is this Corgi Rover SD1 that I definitely didn't buy.

"THE PERSON I BOUGHT IT FROM SAID HE BOUGHT IT NEW REMOVED IT FROMTHE BOX

TO LOOK AT IT AND PUT IT BACK IN THE BOX AND DID NOT PLAY WITH IT

AS HE HAD BOUGHT IT TO COLLECT"

So, presumably it was malevolent spirits that went at it wankily with a black permanent marker and added "details":

sd1c.thumb.jpg.e4d3dfca054b2644b536362fde10c31b.jpg

And then fired up the printer to create some bewilderingly toss rear lights and badges:

sd1d.thumb.jpg.0e27b6688164c3d6ffaebe23d384745f.jpg

Oh lordy, even the actual box itself wasn't safe. I'm halfway down a bottle of red and I still have no idea what's going on here:

sd1b.thumb.jpg.0a3af4e42acb5f17f8b22f974496ff46.jpg

Should you wish to inspect it yourself, in person, it can be yours for just FORTY POUNDS.

PLUS POSTAGE.

Form an orderly queue...

That scene looks like the storyboard for a dramatic episode of Emmerdale. What is the brown thing on the bottom left?

Current small scale projects:

image.thumb.jpeg.2d81f162699778cd83357cef4cf8d80e.jpeg

1967 Impala that's going to be fitted with the LT5 engine from a Corvette ZR-1. ARG Sandalwood Beige paintwork, which needs polishing.

image.thumb.jpeg.087c239b5adbc678f07c4bd655bac128.jpeg

To save putting it back in the box, the donor Corvette is getting built without an engine. Again, just-applied paintwork needs to be polished. Colour is Ford Caymen Blue for an appropriately '90s vibe.

I'm also resurrecting this long-stalled project, having recently purchased a complete kit for replacement glass - unfortunately I broke the original. Until I saw another version of the bodyshell I'd forgotten how much shaving and filling I'd done to get it to this stage. Needs a bit of a clean and polish, but otherwise I'll leave my original paintwork. I don't want to do that foil brightwork again......

Had I not got the glass piece I'd probably have reconfigured this one as a banger racer. That fate will probably befall the second version.

Need to start another Japanese kit or two. Lots of options there, maybe this Galant for starters - it looks like a lovely kit:

Nice lot there, the Galant looks interesting. Liking the Ecto1 project too, looking forward to seeing that one unfold.

That box art is bizarre.

Don't do drugs, kids.

Two of my Norevs for sale. These are Renault NN torpedo models. Introduced in 1969, these are two of the four colours available. Other two are turquoise and grey. These are from the 'moyen age' range of 12 inter war cars produced by Norev from the late 60's. £9.50 for the pair posted in the UK.

The results of a drunken session on aliexpress have arrived.

All silly cheap, and very well packaged.

A Citroen Bijou and Baby Barous...

Citroën are a big part of my collection, so are Buicks. This Enclave was less than 4 dollars.

Last is this Tucker Torpedo, I got this just because it looks fabulous. I'll display it next to my Tatra

The great 2021 clean has been completed. My quick head count is 199, about the number of real cars I have had and each 1:43 representing a full sized car. The shelve containing the yellow Maestro and above are owned in the past cars.

There are also a few random models I have owned for a very long time in the loft and an assortment bag of ply worns donated by Quicksilver under my desk.

I am a few short, most notably Rover R8 that I have never seen in 1:43. I need a Bond Equipe convertible that some years ago I saw a white mental kit for but at £120 was too expensive for me. We also need a couple of Bond Equipe GT4s, a Carlton estate would be nice also a second Xantia estate. I seem to be missing a Fiesta as we had a MK1 facelift.

I have bought Mrs6C  an Invacar model but she has keep it separate. (one day we are hoping to admit visitors to our home again and we would hate them to see an Invacar on the shelve!)

He prefers the blue.

Benny Green also agreed with us.

Trisha Yates can get stuffed.

It might be a bit greedy getting another though, right?

Finished the Range Rover. I'm pretty pleased with this one, especially the blue and pink stripes, just how I recall them.

Since I'm happy I can still make aerials like I was shown all those decades ago, I may have gone a bit overboard with these. I like them though!
