I remember those Scalextric transfers, a sheet came with the XR3 set my Dad bought at Christmas 1985. Even at not-quite six I recall thinking that "Powered by MGB" wasn't much of a boast. Still, a fair few of my childhood treasures seem to have been adorned with said transfers,my Superkings 190 has FMS933Y as its registration. Why, after thirty plus years and while it and almost all the rest of my old rubbish are in excess of 500 miles away, I would remember that is completely beyond me though

For me FMS933Y is on a Corgi Plaxton bus. Odd because almost all I remember having non dated Irish plates.

Most of this was chosen for the hall, landing and the turn on the stairs

Bertie thought this looked right at home in Ken's refurbished garage, going under the cut-n-shut ringer Escort he drove in there 40 years ago, took to bits and then piled his life on top of it; until just last month it was exhumed at last and given a dusting

The Corgi Pathfinder - that pumped water and also had a siren.  Found out one too although the one I have here is a later one with the electronics removed (found that out after blind purchase...)

Which brings this post around to who did the best pumper?  Dinky's Merryweather or Corgi's Pathfinder?

I had assumed Ron Jeremy was the best pumper, but what do I know

So, @155V6 is yours going to be a 'silent' pumper or a 'noisy' pumper, I wonder?

Can't bear the suspense...!

I did look at those and a couple of others - then I remembered I'm not going on eBay

I think we're all being sorely tempted at present...

Not that fussed on the silvery-blue XJS (instead I'm looking for the earlier black Supercat version) but it's a big dollop o' want for the other three...

That's the very set... GUA 738V was the plate I selected for my Scalextric Mk3 Escort (green, Palmers Tube Mills sponsor) while CWB 650W went onto my Mk3 Capri (yellow and blue, STP?)... FMO 694W appeared on my red Datsun 240Z (Shell), and since they were the only Scalextric cars I owned, the remainder of the plates went onto Corgi cars...

Always kinda annoyed me that the suffixes were wrong for most of the cars, though.

You would have got away with the W suffix on the Escort and Capri, V was a bit early on the Escort.  It was a bit late for the Z though!  Never mind eh!

One of my favourite models that I bought recently is this Matchbox.'56 Aston Martin DBR1.

The photo doesn't do it justice, it really is a lovely thing, I don't normally go for this sort of car,but in this case I'm glad I did.

Even Smoll Eddy likes it,even though he's gone more JDM these days.

B&M looked like it had been ram raided today, but still found this among the chaos

always thought it looked a bit odd with no windscreen but it's a nice casting.

Popped in Smyths too and they'd loaded the shelves to bursting point but all older stuff. I was selling in these Lamborghini 5 packs for a good profit but left them for someone else today
