1300E had rectangular headlights & spotlights pedant mode off.

Friend had one of those, in the gold colour.  Didn't have it long (this was 1987/8) and it was very rusty, too much for him and yet he was a competent welder.  Even then he could move it on quickly as the badge sold itself

Ah, I thought something wasn't quite right and that's it. That model seems to be inspired by the Vanguards 1/43 version, which does have the correct lights and 1300E wheels. Oxford do have an amazing ability to make generally good models but get them slightly wrong (the Quattro for instance with the wrong headlights for a C-reg).

Found it, page from the 1989 catalogue

22 inches long!!  She'd hit the roof...  will have to give it a miss.

Tinplate body on the truck too.  Yet the cars are softish polymer.

Sourced from Tonka, I wondered, but no, they had their own:

Finished the NSX.

Please don't compare it with efforts of someone who knows what they are doing, especially the paint.

I did get all of the features to work nicely though, opening engine compartment, pop up headlights and steering.

I removed the driver's window because the 'masking tape' that I used when spraying the black windscreen border, bled everywhere. The other windows were not so bad.

The white JEEP was originally issued in the USA in 1983, then in the U.K. in the early 90’s, it’s the same casting. Funny to bring it back after all these years!

Isn't the Jeep based on a pre-Superfast casting? Pretty sure it's been discussed before

Conrad Passat is an excellent find, love that. I also remember lusting after the Solido Tagora as it was pictured on the back of the box of the Talbot Horizon. I should have kept that one too!

I've got the spit of that Conrad Passat and also a contrasting Santana in metallic blue. My Passat was sold as a Gama, according to the box though, despite it saying Conrad on the base. So essentially, they're the same company.

Currently got eyes on  rather gawky looking Conrad Audi 100 (1982 aero shape) on Trademe but waiting for it to drop in price!

It's in my 1970 USA catalogue

Matchbox 1970 016

Nope that's a different casting

20200905_105353

So it really did start as a Hot Rod casting rather than being modified from a standard one, and ran right up to 96 for the canopy version

4x4_Jeep_with_canopy_(1998_MASH).thumb.jpg.dcbedecfbba8866fa93637572608706a.jpg

And 1999 for the non-canopy. Quite a span!

MB005-OVP-1999-StarCarColl-S03.jpg

Looks like today's purchase was from 1995

Those look great. What method do you use to paint the window surrounds?

Thanks. Black (actually dark grey/anthracite) brush-painted enamel, without masking if possible. That easier when it's on a dark-coloured car, there's a bit of margin for error......

Chrome done with Bare Metal Foil, which looks good but takes a bit of patience. Some people use Molotow silver marker pen. In the past I used brush-painted silver enamel, but the Humbrol #11 I favoured 25-odd years ago doesn't have the shine it used to.

Well done on getting the Honda done.

Cheers SL, my problem is that I no longer have a steady hand, which I have only found out in the last few months as I have taken up restoring/model building again. I am also having real trouble aiming the needle lance of the poly cement container at the area or part I want to glue. Bracing my wrist against something seems to work and there weren't any accidents!

I think you mentioned something similar about yourself a few pages back so I was kind of spurred on by your continued good results.
