Hahaha! He can poke it up his poo pipe at that price. If it had been £2-3 I might have been tempted

Especially if it's from the white version

Corgi Ref.Nr.57202, Mazda Camper Van

Yes, I felt that was taking optimism to new heights also...but then, he does style himself as 'antiques', so I guess he feels a need to maintain aspirational prices.  The camper body was in ok nick, not mint but certainly displayable. For £3 I would have had it too - I am looking for a decent Mazda pickup - but given the Antique Guru's general cluelessness, I wouldn't be surprised if he'd already sold the pickup without the camper body... (because I can't help myself, I went over his stall pairing the correct trucks and trailers, cos he had them all over the show).

The white version from the 2000s Corgi series is definitely the one to have!

How low is the rally Hunter now?

Still at £5... I'm gonna guess he overpaid on a job lot, hence sticking on the high price... I only paid £2 for a slightly better one back in March (now living with @flat4alfa)...

and £10 for this worn but complete one last year, which I think went to @Amishtat.

What make is the blue/Orange garage lift MrDC?

I didn't check, but I'm about 90% sure that's a Fisher Price item!

Well then - what came home with me in the hat of tat,  I hear you mutter expectantly...

Well, this lot.

Not maybe a superlative haul from the 50p box, but there's a few interesting items nonetheless...

First off, some French models of German cars - yup, another Majorette Porsche 911 Turbo, and a quite a nice Mk2 Golf GTi.

182005467_IMG_20200925_1048372.thumb.jpg.6d23a65b5c918e53a39af068b96b8399.jpg

Porsche has the usual Carlos Fandango wheels, but it was the peculiar detail of the rear wiper that made me pause...

698411460_IMG_20200925_1048502.thumb.jpg.f3b7c06a18aad62350662a78830dc64e.jpg

Did these really come with a rear wiper? And could it have possibly worked, at speed? Hmmmm. I have my doubts.

The Golf is pretty tidy bar a few chips to the leading edges. For some reason, the boot will only open by about a millimetre, though.

Both available at 50p, should anyone fancy giving them a home.

Next up...

Well, the Corvette was bagsied last week by @bunglebus so that's off the table; meanwhile, I've been looking for a tidy MR2 for a while - and while this isn't all that great, it's not too bad. I know there's a couple of white mid-80s Matchbox where the paint just seems to fall off them, and this is one of them - most examples that turn up seem very tatty (the Mercury Sable Wagon is another).

I hadn't realised that the small version has a transparent spoiler to the rear of the cockpit, just like the real one.

Nice touch, though a pity this one is a bit knocked (though may glue?)

50p on the Toyota.

Then, moving back in time a bit...

The No.19 Road Dragster and No.22 Freeman Inter-City Commuter; both in tolerable nick, but slightly different colours than those I already have - the Dragster's a sort of deep metallic pink, rather then the flat red version that tends to pop up. Commuter's also more purple than reddish; glazing and axles are better on this than my other one, though paint is worse. Ah well.

If you fancy either of these, again 50p takes 'em.

More Superfast goodness...

The No.7 Hairy Hustler and another No.36 Formula 5000, both looking a bit too good to just be stirred around in the box.

50p each, etc etc.

Lastly...

25828654_IMG_20200925_1050312.thumb.jpg.8594230ee0a0872b651cd23c3b4c611b.jpg

I don't know what's worse - Matchbox making so many off-road vehicles, or my continued insistence on buying them.

I'm not sure what the 'Rock Shocker' is based on, exactly, but this caught my eye because of the way the outer wings seem to have been removed, leaving the inners on view. Most unusual.

The Summer Jaguar XJ12C casting is something of a regular on these pages - I've had a couple pass through my hands - but I don't think I've seen this tampo decoration on it before.

1224218980_IMG_20200925_1050402.thumb.jpg.1530c627c71e3e13278ad19f3fedc629.jpg

'Rally Racaing'? Well, okay then.

I'm guessing the outline represents Namibia, South Africa and Madagascar - is this a rally route that anyone recognises?

As with all of the above, available at 50p a throw!

And there we go. Another week, another load of tat... well, until next time!

No worries, can set all of those aside for you!

According to the big Charlie Mack book of Matchbox, the metallic pink Road Dragster is indeed a lesser-spotted variant. Worth about double what a plain red one might fetch, when mint and boxed, apparently... though in this condition, at this price point, it's probably a bit moot...

It’s a bit difficult to interpret that book in the U.K., some items he reckons are worth little in the US are worth a bit here like the Roman numerals editions.

Thanks @Datsuncog.  If  it comes down to about £2 I  will have it, but I'm not going to hold my breath!  You got a really good deal for a tenner on that nice example, well done.

Yes... Yes he did. This has been on my kitchen shelf since January and until the Corgi Bentley Continental came along was my best tat Friday score..
