andrew e
The museum was the kind of place you’d have visited as kid - and it was probably the same then 😁 no triangle pennant stickers - though I asked! Its took me a week for the lap and I’m only in a pop top so I will be glad for the BB tomorrow 😂 however it can go anywhere as the paintwork now proves 🤐
sutty2006
Finally! It’s not the colour I wanted but it’s an 850 so who cares. Found in B n M. Burnside, bunglebus, eddyramrod and 1 other

eddyramrod
Now then... a bunch of pictures. Pay attention, there will be questions later! 22 photos there, of 11 cars. Every one of them scuffed to a degree, but all intact except for the blue Pontiac ambulance, which needs a tailgate (a part that is available, I've already looked). The question is... which, if any, would you give the full strip-and-spray treatment? They've all been on my shelves for assorted periods and I genuinely don't mind having playworns knocking about. However, now that I've started, the restos I've done are showing these up and making them look shabbier than they really are. One thing to bear in mind is that I may very well not follow the original factory colour schemes. You've already seen I can and will do Code 3, and that's very likely to happen to at least some of these. Why am I even asking? Well, I'm honestly in two minds about these. They are, of course, only original once; and I will still have playworns on display even if I paint all of these. But, these are more worn than others, and I do enjoy the process of restoration. I don't know whether to do them or not. Remspoor, Burnside, AndyW201 and 1 other
eddyramrod
And I don't know why or how that pic of the Mangusta managed to slip[ out of sequence, but I'm sure you can work out where it was meant to be.
MarvinsMom
paint 'em all, eventually! none of those are rare, mint or valuable so have some fun with them! start with the mangusta cos that one looks proper rough. eddyramrod

bunglebus
I'd leave the Astro with the ultra rare wheels, the Lincoln Continental, Bedford CA, green racing transporter and the blue ambulance alone, the others I'd do up. Also never seen the Caddy ambulance on those wheels flat4alfa and Remspoor

Mr Laurence
Possibly a shot in the dark here, but does anyone have a Tamiya Mini kit that they want rid of? I’ve been on the look out for one for a while now, but it seems like they’re no longer being made, and people on eBay are after silly money for them They came in a few other boxes as well, but the contents stayed generally the same

Shunned Tintagel this year, though, because frankly it's exactly the same as it was last year and 3,000 before that. As is the Toy Museum (albeit always worth a visit just to giggle at the pricing) Camped near Looe in our favourite clifftop site, and survived the Great Storm of 2020 flat4alfa
Datsuncog
Bit of a chilly start this morning... Wasn't expecting frost on the fields and a breeze that made me wish I'd brought a coat and gloves with me in the car... dear oh dear. But Tat Friday must go ahead - rain, hail or shine (or global pandemic). I did get in at the stroke of eight, to see my pair of nemeses still there ahead of me, somehow. Bugger. I'm assuming that bribing the security guards is the next logical step in the diecast arms race - and I could only wish I'd thought of that earlier, as one of them made off with a very nice Charger funny car. I lurked while the stall was fully set up, eventually rewarded with this vista... So, what was new this week? This big plastic friction drive Fire Chief car... I'm not much cop at late 40s/early 50s yank stuff; any guesses? Packard, maybe? This Corgi Jeep conveyor loader also hadn't appeared before... It's original, unlike the repro Bond car in front (which I think one of my nemeses either bought or arranged to buy at a future date). Polistil Jaaaag still kicking about (unsurprisingly, at a tenner with missing bits), while boxed Majorette helicopter was a new arrival. These two big tinplate trucks were pretty striking, and in nice nick - doubt they're cheap, though. Some tinplate still remains from previous weeks too. Datsuncog
General diecast hadn't changed much this week - Still £5 to £10 asked on these, which seems a tad steep. (£10 on the gold Riviera and ambulance; £5 on the others) Dinky Plymouth Gran Fury Taxi yet to find a buyer either. £5 on the Corgi Land Rover 'repaint'. More guff left in the boxes, too. Hunter looks not the best, to be fair - toolboxes etc misssing as well as the wheels. Bburago Panda still hanging around too. Think these have all put in previous appearances too... the MB King Size KW Dart does appeal to me, as it has its exhaust stacks intact - although someone's solved the inevitable hub shrinkage issue by using superglue to hold the tyres on, which is a bit messy-looking. These were new, but not quite what I was after... Morris J-Type was quite nice, mind. I should have asked about the price on it. 50p Tat Box was there! (cue audience whooping and applause) I swiped the Matchbox Corvette for @bunglebus (although, tragically, his latest tat box is currently en route so it'll have to be patient). Plus the box of Rockets, still stubbornly priced at £30, no offers, no selling them separately. And this interesting confection - I've deffo seen this before on the stall last year; dunno if it's the same one, or another one. It's huge, though not quite as huge as the not-to-scale child suggests Plus all the other general non-diecast tat, too. So, having exhausted the possibilities here, I wandered off to check the other stalls... Charity Stall still selling those Buddy Ls, plus the nearly-good Corgi Raygo Rascal road roller. But, unexpectedly, this was on the stall of the fella selling the Tonka stuff the other week - looks like Market Blokey has a rival... All a bit overpriced, to my mind - £2 to £5 for shabby Corgi Juniors and Matchbox; £10 - £20 on the bigger stuff. Stallholder one of those voluble "them's rare, them's Dinkys" style of trader... confidently wrong, expostulating about how "that's Matchbox, 1973 - everything here's between 1971 and 1976" as I was holding the camper unit of a Corgi Mazda B1600 pickup, from 1978... Also of note was all the remaining carded Matchbox and Hot Wheels that were on the stall for a pound last week - now on a general tat merchant stall opposite, for £1.50 each. The circle of tat continues... Taking a final turn now before scooting on - so be quick if anything grabs you!
