@antony denman Was the James Bond influence too strong?  Is that why you went for blue?  I like the Get Carter idea!  Some day I must post up photos of my 1/64-ish movie cars, I've got rather a lot, some of them quite obscure.

Meanwhile, today I've had more models in the caustic solution and some have stripped better than others.  Some will need at least another soak.

This is the loose red wire that may be the cause of the steering not working. Not got a clue where it goes ?

I think the red wire may be the aerial? I’ve got it running but I can’t figure out why the steering isn’t working? I’m going to clean up the circuits with an ear bud and acetone. Video below. Turn the sound down though because the car is squealing!

@Datsuncog Thanks for efforts earlier today

It was almost getting to two months succeeding in avoiding buying again, but today I fell back off the wagon

So enquiring on a couple more before you close the box:

Rockets Buggy

Fast & Furious Plymouth

Corgi Corvette Stingray

Road Dragster - which I had no time for all my miserable life but the Bunglebus reimagine effort last month has helped me see it in another light

Ah, dude... always happy to source tat for fellow-shiters, though I feel oddly culpable for any wagon de-boarding that's occurred of late... Do we need to sort out some sort of self-exclusion button for tat on here? An escrow service to hold stuff over for a defined period unless certain conditions are met? When the fun stops, stop?

I mean, the Friday market's good craic and all, but I'd hate to think of anyone's relationships being put under strain over the head of some grimy no-name Volvos and three-quarters of a Mustang... and I speak as someone who's been there, more than once, with my own collector tendencies...

If you're absolutely deffo sure, then I'll stick those aside in your name (though Bunglebus had already claimed the green Rockets beach buggy, I'm afraid!) - and happy to hold on to them for as long as needed!

While I couldn't get on the forum last night I was Googling how many variations of the Mazda pickup there are, thinking I must have most of them now. I don't - if I really want them all I need;

Uh-oh.  THE LABELS !!  😣

Tell me about it! 3.50 for both after bartering. They had loads of Yester Years for £10 😄

They also had things such as a Matchbox Porsche laser wheels boxed for 20!

There was a Dinky Hillman Imp for 15 but not sure on the prices on them.

Right, finally on top of my Tat Spreadsheet, I believe, after Friday's bonanza at the market!

PMs should have now been sent out to everyone who requested an update of what's in their personal tat box - and if you haven't received one and wanted one, please let me know!

As far as I can tell, all orders that have been paid for have now been sent and received, save for those who have specifically asked me to hold on to their box for further market events/tat disposal sales.

If there's anyone who wants a running total of where they are, do let me know - I've a coupla boxes that have been resting since last year, so if you've no desire for any more stuff, give me a shout...and if you don't fancy it anymore, then that's no problem at all, I'll just offer it out again on the thread. No worries.

Likewise, I know I have a few orders outstanding myself -  @Amishtat, I think you're holding a Dinky Porsche 356 and some Land Rovers for me from the Wednesday Tat fun? If you want me to square you up for those, let me know how best to get the funds over to you!

If there's anyone I haven't contacted today who's also holding stuff over for me, then I'm very very naughty (and sorry), so do hit me up with a message, as I've plainly forgotten all about it in the crazy whirlwind that is collecting manky diecast.

Maybe only dags with the red interior? Mine has dag. And cracked rear screen.

That is not the case. It seems that the dag does like other colour interiors too

I did another car boot sale today and resisted some very tempting diecast tat.

After I got home, had a bath, a coffee and a wagon wheel we went to my parents house for tea as potential for lockdown in the future is high so it might be the last for a while.

Mum was going through some of my old toys that had reached the end of the family line as my son has now outgrown them. These were well loved by me and then my younger brother and are in really good condition. She had held onto things like a Fisher Price garage, Lego and some larger steel Tonka-Type toys including an interesting "Bronco" tank transporter for my 3 Cousin's children to play with and then my son. It's kind of sad that they've finally come to the end of their long time with my family as there is now nobody else to play with them. They will be cleaned up and sent to the local charity shop this week.

However there was one toy which I really loved and which I still have a use for now. So my mum suggested I take it back home and I didn't hesitate.

We've all seen this Corgi Juniors 'Multi Garage' before but as a wee lad I just loved how it looked realistic, down to the up and over door with the decorative diamond on the front. It came from Mothercare with 4 Juniors cars, a white Capri 3.0s, black Triumph TR7 ( my favourite as I used to walk past one with my mum in the way to the shops before she could drive), a Red Rover SD1 and a Hertz Chevy Van. Only the Capri is gone, swapped away in the late 1980s however I have since acquired a red and a yellow one. Any other car fitted too which I thought was great.

I didn't have time to reunite it with its old tenants tonight so instead I imagined the McGregor Road garages, Cumbernauld (1984)

IMG_20200920_194059.thumb.jpg.8b61682dcaa5a8b0dc9e9fd352b6b736.jpg

Mr Millar's SD1 just fits in no more, he's glad about that as the Young Team would take too much of an interest in it. Just as well as it's a Bank car that came with his new area Inspectors role. Old Mrs Copeland has given up driving her 245 since Mr Copeland passed away 10 years previously but with just 16,500 miles she hopes that it will find a good home eventually. Ally 'Bucksy' McIntosh next door spends more time trying to soup up his 1.6L Capri than driving it and has not yet got it running right after fitting twin carbs which he bought from an advert in the back of 'Street Car' magazine. He and his brother John-Lad moved from Inverness 6 months ago and the latter chap got the lock up next door. His MK1 Escort hasn't fared well in the Highland climate and needs new floors and strut tops. He spends more time revving it and fitting wide arches than actually sorting it properly.

He's bent the garage door already from failing to pump the brake pedal after changing the front brake pads to centralise them, meaning the car didn't stop in time when he was reversing it back into position.

IMG_20200920_194116.thumb.jpg.74025abaed7a4c499c36d4006df10d2c.jpg

A young lad of about 4 lives in number 7 at the end of the road and loves to cycle up on his 'Bullet' bike (which he's just learned to go without the stabilisers) and marvel as the lads work on their cars, tolerating his presence for just a little while. The wee lad turns his bike round for the next lap of the street and his kitchen foil tube 'big-bore' exhaust barks angrily at passers by.

Happy days!

Ooh, I think I was in there only yesterday!

£8 for Models of Yesteryear? Yup, saw you coming...

1633901473_IMG_20200919_1449572.thumb.jpg.48b85a07a66521ae3300113fab01c6c6.jpg

£10 on a Dinky Packard, missing both screen and driver... mmm. Only slightly optimistic.

Now, if this Bburago Merc had its grille, then a tenner might be a fair price...

...but £15 for a Renault 5 with no back window leaves me cold again.

1157954850_IMG_20200919_1450212.thumb.jpg.200a9e90478687130fbe9a2dada842f5.jpg

Lesneys beautifully* displayed... but unpriced.

Military stuff, £10 to £25...  not really my bag, to be fair.

Dodge Royale not too bad, but £25 is steep... VW Beetles at £30, though they can fetch good coin, admittedly...

Hang on, £165 for the tanker, and £200 for the transporter?

Naaaaaaah mate. Keep 'em.

This is why you shouldn't mix crack and antiques, kids...

Yes, but they seem to only look at the top whack for mint/boxed stuff and then apply the same price to their old scuffed rubbish...
