No worries.  I wasn't really thinking about getting rid of it but I'm not hugely into commercials and I figured you do a lot for the rest of us tat hoarders. Now you can stop complaining...

...talking of complaints, I'm getting swamped with job lot orphans and cars I'm never going to customise - so, does anyone want this lot for £10 posted? The bigger of the two groups are all either broken or have missing parts, all the new looking ones and several of the others in that same group have been taken apart and their wheels removed.

The other group are generally complete but just don't interest me.

There's also this Matchbox/Dinky MGB and Oxford Jensen interceptor - £1 each + postage

20200813_162326.thumb.jpg.643b5eec69daa76f458c6165df06db41.jpg20200813_162332.thumb.jpg.540706cfbf102b580f86596317dac2b0.jpg20200813_162439.thumb.jpg.605b576d90c417345f4f5b0795712410.jpg20200813_162445.thumb.jpg.2b25fb13b7ba8428e43d4260f10b967a.jpg

In happier news, a few tired but sound Matchbox got to me today;

20200813_162845.thumb.jpg.c337a46b3ce0f6a75bd8fb52398b926d.jpg20200813_163241.thumb.jpg.bf750a26d7693b8cacc2ffcf7cfe72d5.jpg20200813_163040.thumb.jpg.7ac84f14c55d95c90bdc1d50e4cee0a9.jpg

Plus this boxed Zylmex - box was already squished and it was bubble wrapped and boxed to the extreme, makes a change from jiffy bags!

20200813_162548.thumb.jpg.3f9545011db725006864a438e140e58f.jpg20200813_162633.thumb.jpg.7b32302b0751dc5b911b1bb5c118c664.jpg

I decided I'd like to mess about with the large Corgi Corniche - this one has lost its V8 but I do have a few engine donors about...

20200813_163407.jpg

If the Jensen is 1/43 I would love that, and the MGB please.  No hurry (in case anything else turns up).

Haven't looked through all of their listings yet, but the seller of this lot appears to have some interesting stuff: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JOB-LOT-OF-MATCHBOX-SUPERKINGS-TRUCK-LORRY-TRAILER-DIECAST-MODELS-3/303644515394

One of these days I'll track down the missing cargo for that Aircraft Transporter.

...which has made me just have a go at recreating a Matchbox original 'scene', while wife and daughter are watching some god-awful US cookery programme

If anyone recognises the airport backdrop (I'm assuming in Germany with the Lufthansa airliner on the tarmac) I'll might redo do it in @Jon-style and with better light

A Matchbox K-8 Pickup went to Goodwood FoS...!!?  Who knew?

That's perfect, best colour too and minimal chipping so no need to repaint.  Would sit happily next to the similar K-11 Wrecker Pickup given a lick of paint last year!

ELP 592N lives on

K-13-2 and K-114 share a cab design, but luckily did get different number plates to keep the DVA happy

AKB 546N and KTH 683P

Today's load for KTH is Corgi's Inter-City Mini-Bus, and that's the third time this month. Shocking reliability in that fleet.

Plate is reproduced at the rear of the aircraft transporter, unfortunately the car transporter flouts that rule

There is two different versions, one with an engine and one without.

Well I never knew that! I have idly looked at getting one that's at least got the canopy in place still, I'll pay more attention now.

I know there are two body styles of the k-7 racing car transporter, with and without the quarterlight division

With/without chrome grille too

Sell the Inter City to me then, so I can steal its glass.

I should really get a group shot of all my K-114s with their correct loads

Was the rear bed (marked K-2/5) used on anything else?

SuperKings Saturday Spectacle

1975 'Transporter', I assume a fantasy model despite wearing registration AKB 546M. The load isn't labelled anywhere but I always thought it was the Folland Gnat used by the Red Arrows RAF display team. Arguments welcome.

Aside it is the 1972 'Racing Car Transporter' more likely fantasy but looked period with the grille. This one the more valuable in the white Martini Racing livery. It's lost its canopy and the Martini livery 'Hi-Tailer' load, so I've substituted something else which will win you *ten points* if you can identify maker, range and model !  The excitement heats up.

I seem to have the reinforced version!  ^

Somewhere in the project ideas pile is a yellow Matchbox livery one, will see

I remember a newsagents near me had one of these,

Matchbox, Corgi and some of the other toymakers in the 1970s seemed to have some designers who had watched a lot of Gerry Anderson's shows, or at least came up with designs that would look out of place in Thunderbirds or Captain Scarlet.

I no longer chase the correct-loads, I just do my own Shite-loads.   It helps the pain.

So, it seems that both cab types of K-7 Racing Car Transporter were able to get down for a side-by-side photo-shoot this evening.  A K-36 Construction Transporter came along to.  Just look at the subtle differences in roof decoration.  Why would the Martini team need a searchlight?  The Matchbox team didn't need one and they could make more of a racket with their THREE horns.

The heavens were about to open again, so yellow transporter swapped to its return load and they all parted their ways

And lo, Tat Friday dawned.  In Barrow it's succumbed to the dreaded virus, Andy hasn't been here for months.  I'm left with the various contents of other stalls in other towns to enjoy* vicariously.  So I think I'll do a bit of DIY and come back in a bit...

I meant to say last night, that the Martini one is a different casting again due to that search light. At least you know when you see a replica you can tell it's not the real deal I suppose

A misty Friday morning dawning here on the emerald(ish) isle... and the market's now opening at 8am, which is much handier.

Market Blokey was here on time...

20200814_083142.thumb.jpg.6b7b989eb62f23d627380b58a33a34b7.jpg

...and today's wares:

20200814_083739.thumb.jpg.ba6f9ca69f76b772f46dfddf30ee6f17.jpg

Ah, Bond partworks, Atlas police partworks (based on Vanguards castings?) and a smattering of touring cars, plant machinery and some other stuff.

Initially, my eyebrows went up... but a closer look revealed that these have led a hard life - most are damaged to a greater or lesser extent, with missing wingmirrors and wipers, snapped-off blue lights, scuffs and bubbling to the paintwork... plus their acrylic cases have gone awol.

20200814_083716.thumb.jpg.e9fbe5b322655651771dc9d0e95f973c.jpg

20200814_083653.thumb.jpg.f1fbc15cccea07ab43f6a0aa36fa3fd1.jpg

20200814_081320.thumb.jpg.bbe2aee652d120e5768626b9baff2a62.jpg

Something like the Bel Air patrol car could be refinished as a civvy version, it's true, but I doubt I'd ever manage to do much with it.

The Bond collection has riled me for years due to being nearly very good... but odd stances,  questionable finishes and fake 'damage' has always dissuaded me from putting my hand in my pocket.

This Merc 450 SEL appealed, but then I noticed the casting had been made to simulate front end damage... so it won't display all that well. Dammit.

20200814_083610.thumb.jpg.910d146265ce53c817e5324db31749da.jpg

But it's all a question of price... and if they were something like £2 each then I might have filled my boots, regardless.

But, on asking, these are £5 each.

Nah, sorry. Patronising Man over at Smithfield has a metric fucktonne of these Bond partworks, still sealed, for £8 a throw - and the Atlas police partworks aren't exactly scarce.  I don't think they're cheap enough to warrant a punt, given the damage and missing packaging.

I looked around forlornly for a tat box, but none was forthcoming.

Only more Bond-related stuff and some other guff in a box...

20200814_083544.thumb.jpg.65655a09746c7da3024870473702397b.jpg

...and some Atlas Dinky stuff, priced at a tenner a throw.

20200814_083636.thumb.jpg.72e75ae81234a389f3c6032ce0fa47f5.jpg

I hummed, I hawed, I wrung my hands... and walked away.

A quick turn past the other stalls revealed a minor LOL moment - after finally receiving a Superkings Scammell Freight Liner only yesterday, what should the Charity Stall reveal?

20200814_083526.thumb.jpg.3dedb40e3b29cf18d289672a0c22cc02.jpg

Neither are as nice as the one Bunglebus turned up, mind; one has no sliding doors on the rear box and both have very loose cab baseplates.

Charity Blokey advised a fiver for the pair; I had to demur, and even when he dropped to £4 for both, I had to make my excuses. My tat box at home runneth over, and I think another clear-out might be on the cards... He didn't have any other vehicular tat this week, annoyingly.

But, as with the Bond stuff, if you can see yourself with these, I can always pop back round again... but be quick, I'll be shooting off home in 20mins!
