NorfolkNWeigh
Sorry, I just don’t get the love for Sikus. Their Granada estate has to be a contender for the “ Don’t know what it’s supposed to be until I read the baseplate award “ That green Passat is not much better, in fact apart from commercials , I think mostSikus never look “right”. A lot is the oversized wheels but of the few posted up here all have something that spoils the likeness. 300SL - door window too small, Passat - arches of comedic proportions, Rancho - best of a bad lot but still not right, same as the Range Rover. The Type 2 is great, but then it’s a commercial. Maybe being brought up with Matchbox and Corgi Juniors spoilt me.
Split_Pin
They are ostensibly toys though and at this scale it's not always about accuracy. I agree though, they dropped the ball on some castings, notably the Granada. I think this situation kind of worsened into the 1990s for some. The VW LT, Type 2 double cab and most of the trucks are lovely though.

Volksy
I had the Siku 928 and LT, we were given them on a Lufthansa flight to Munich as kids. Split_Pin
Split_Pin
My friend got a Matchbox 928 on a flight to Switzerland where they used to go their holidays every year. They brought me back a lovely little Wiking Beetle in PTT livery which I still have.
junkyarddog
Another recent tidy up of a Matchbox Renault 5. Originally white with racing decals and black base, I decided to turn it back into it's surbuban shopping cart roots. DoctorRetro
Today has been a 'get electric stuff working' kind of day. Also realised this week has brought quite a haul. The R16 at the front was bought as a donor for the red one, not sure if I want to ruin it now.... bunglebus
I've had a few arrivals/finds; One of the later Dinkys, made in England but plastic base. Don't recall seeing the wheels before 20200709_144821 by RS, on Flickr 20200709_144829 by RS, on Flickr 20200709_144846 by RS, on Flickr A while ago I bought a Zylmex Electra; 20200602_180801 by RS, on Flickr Which is of course a DeTomasa Mangusta. I spotted this Dinky one; 20200709_144959 by RS, on Flickr 20200709_144940 by RS, on Flickr 20200709_144944 by RS, on Flickr It came with another, earlier one which has much nicer wheels, so I may make a hybrid if I can find tyres 20200709_145021 by RS, on Flickr Being somewhat jealous of the Doctor's Cadillac ambulance, I grabbed this one very cheaply - think they put it as BIN when it should have been the starting price. As mentioned last week, bits are available to fix it. 20200709_145103 by RS, on Flickr 20200709_145056 by RS, on Flickr Talking of spares, I've never bought reproduction parts for my cars but I took a chance with a pair of number plates for the Zodiac, and they're great. Got the Saint decal for the Corgi Rockets P1800 I restored a while back too 20200709_145448 by RS, on Flickr Lastly, my favourite charity shop re-opened, there were quite a few MC Toys pull back cars, but only one thing came home with me. Remember the comedy MC Toys Escort cabrio with the colour-coded roof? 20190807_120305 by RS, on Flickr Well I'd been half-heartedly looking for the even funnier police version with the lights on the soft-top; 20200709_145127 by RS, on Flickr 20200709_145136 by RS, on Flickr 20200709_145142 by RS, on Flickr However I got a surprise when I looked underneath; 20200709_145149 by RS, on Flickr I knew MC used old Corgi castings but didn't realise this was one. black windows, lights on the roof and long rear suspension travel make me think there are some electronics hiding inside, further investigation required... Funny you should post this today, as in my hand right now I have this gutted example picked up from Sunday's boot sale. A fella was selling a number of his childhood toys, most dismantled over the years such as this one, with parts of them missing (at the moment, he'll seek them out and be back in fortnight, he said). Gave a couple of quid for this as it seemed straight enough to do something with.... Looking it up, Mr Flowers does the glass and headlights, but not the tail lights or interior. So, If those spares are out there please someone let me know asap, as this is an obvious choice for motorising into a slot car (or take a mould from), rather than cut about a complete example. I do have a brake light circuit with flat LEDs spare too, which could be coaxed into the empty and flat tail light openings. eddyramrod
I'm also seeing the Opel Senator grille unit, Kojak Buick taillights, and I think the lone red seatback might be MGB/C GT? Might be some more bits of Buick too, such as dash and rear bumper... Meanwhile, have some photos. My C3 parked with my current Volvo. They are, of course, part of the "Cars I've owned" sub-collection. The colours are not strictly accurate, but good enough. I thought it might be from the Corgi Herald Coupe or Elan, but no. Quote Might be some more bits of Buick too, such as dash and rear bumper...
