Sorry DC, I didn’t see your post until after I'd left! He'd got a tenner each on them but I'll be back next week if it's not raining.

Not a bother, thanks for checking!

Tenner sounds about the going rate for boxed 2000s-era Chinese Corgi stuff - don't really need them, but that S&D Revopak refuse truck is quite nice... had he been knocking them out for a fiver I may have been inclined to scoop the lot - but I'd surely take the bin lorry at that price, if it's still around in the next few weeks.

I'll have a think about the Mercedes snowplough/gritter between now and next week - although commercials aren't quite my thing, and it is maybe a smidge toylike with that plastic grit hopper, the 'Dept of Transport' signage is mildly amusing... cheers!

I did chat to a couple of stallholders who said they'd got boxed Seventies and Eighties Corgis, and that they'll bring them next time around.

Hmmm... interesting!!

Only just caught up.  I've been tutoring my child because it's a schoolday

Did you get either of the plastic Golfs?

They are worth a bit more than that when tidy as the clockwork mechanism also plays a siren.  I've a Scirocco that makes my wife scream when she hears it

No, but I should have done.. Should have known someone here would know what it was, I couldn't see a maker's name on them. Funny looking thing though, more Scirocco than Golf in profile.

Ah yes they are Sciroccos.  My one went for a wander earlier (I am no film director!)

Looking at your photo there isn't the roof 'grille', so probably are 'silent' versions.  But... both have rear bumpers and mine is missing.....

Above the daft Sciroccos looks to be the Scalextric Starsky & Hutch set.  Can you remember how much was that up for?   The set itself is a rarity and the cars themselves are worth £25 each when sold separately

Haven't really updated much lately, but recently acquired a Solido Mk1 Fiesta and a Shabak Mk2 Golf from @Burnside

The Fiesta was missing a bumper and the golf had a huge bulge (ooh err) in the bonnet, due to a bad casting I presume.

I've sanded down the bonnet on the Golf, and will try to fill/smooth it.

IMG_20200624_142420.thumb.jpg.8db06e7f21bba815dda2d161652ac3a9.jpg

Next I pioneered a new way of constructing body parts, obviously only works if you have another one. I glued the old part to the plastic and cut round it...

Hasn't come out too bad.

Just needs a bit of paint...

And of course I couldn't resist grabbing a couple of Corgis on my way back to the car having pretty much given up for the day. I did wonder momentarily whether it's the same casting modified but the rear side windows make me think otherwise. The Dinky Porsche had a certain appeal too, despite a yellowed insert on the box.

Wednesday Garden Party Meet

Aston Martin effort today.

Corgi DB4 ; Corgi DB5 ; Dinky DB6

image.thumb.png.4159790c8ccdb3e373cda213a8460140.png

DB4 picked up at antique fair I think, a few years back.  Doubt much was given for it

DB5 007 had since I was a child and have felt guilty for 30 years that I didn't look after it!  My Dad bought it new and naively thought I would; hence the guilt.  Since then, have picked up the earlier and later Corgi scales since, but they are likely already covered in this thread.

DB6 swiped on eBay last year for well under a fiver.  At the time the missing axle and wheels didn't bother me as I had slot car plans for it.  Like most of my bird-brained project ideas, it got parked.

Also at the time I went through the motions of collecting all the series from DBR1 through Vulcan, either in static or slot car form.  Hence the DBS over the page.  I'm better now.

I now have a model of @Six-cylinder's Range Rover, the very vehicle that rescued Bob the Renault from Rugby. Cararama did a silver L322 in 1/72 so all it needed was new numberplates as per recent discussions here.

It came with a boat, but one that looks nothing like Teal

So I hitched it to the car trailer instead. I still can't get a model R6 so for now it can haul the bASe.

Excellent likeness to my L322 Range Rover. Trouble is I now have a blue L405 model instead, so an excuse to buy another model for your collection!

Now you would really impress Mrs6C if your could modify another boat to look like teal.

I found a solution to my Dinky Dragster not having any front tyres - I bought one with tyres but no stickers. They're screwed together so I can make one good version

Also acquired a Majorette Audi 90 (?)

Also this Playart Alpine

And another blackwall for my ever growing collection

Me too, hence wondering whether it was a modification of the 924 casting. Pretty sure it isn't but if I can be arsed tomorrow I may take some pictures in the garden of the two. The base looks different to my other Corgis too so I think it's from the late eighties or early nineties. I'd sort of grown out of them by about 1991 so probably wouldn't have taken much notice then.

Done. Also fitted the scoop the right way round. I noticed the bases were different where the engine fits, plus one is painted and one is white. The bodies are a different red too.

I have seen one with blue plastic parts/base and with and without the front body, amazing the changes made to a simple toy

I'm sure I've just spotted this model in a Corgi marketing pack I'm scanning. Let me see...

I'm scanning the pages but cannot seem to attach the PDF to my post? I'm not very good with computers!

I've started to photograph them on my phone instead.

Yep, I remember them well, the real thing that is.  90 was an 80 body fitted with the bigger, thrumier (thirstier) 5-cylinder engine.   Great sound on full chat

Was on the shopping list for a while, back when they were young.  Never did keep one in the end, they were a bit of a rarity; probably due to being engine donors for 80 Coupe bodies with Barry-UR-Quattro intent.  Probably

Is it because it’s one of the bought-in Solido castings?  Or am I getting mixed up.

@Datsuncog for confirmification.
