Ahhhh....  so it was you that picked it up!  I was trying to do a deal with the seller a good few weeks back but I was being tight and he was being ignoring.

I've been watching it for a while, sold a few bits so decided to go for it. Looks better than in the listing.

Found another to bother us.  Anyone got one of these?

I have one (and I've been watching that one on eBay), mine is missing a wheel centre so I'm pondering getting a better one.

To that end, I'd certainly be interested in a comparison of that Novacar Caprice with Majorette's own offering, as I always wondered if it was a straight copy...

Had a few odds and sods arrive, not sure whether this Corgi SD1 is meant to have the lights detailed, but it also has no glass except in the tailgate. Hasn't been apart

Matchbox jeep is, I think the final version of the earlier one with the split windscreen

This is the smaller of the two Husky Monkeemobiles, someone's done a pretty good job of repainting it. I'd like the large one but they go for big bucks

I also got a load of the mini Hot Wheels, these are great as they seem to be in the same colours as 80s blackwall releases, so I can display them with the 1:64 versions. I won't post them all but here's a few

Got to thinking, how many Citroens do I have, and then, how many French cars do I have. The answer is surprisingly few.

Here they are:

Got to have a Matra Rancho.

IMG_20200603_121125.thumb.jpg.25911f5167ddff61c3eb8a82c88225ce.jpg

Pair of Clios, Mk1 and 2, both Bburago

IMG_20200603_121152.thumb.jpg.836b68f4ecfa7b44fb14c10046a01d8e.jpg

Corgi Renault Traffic, Majorette Twingo, Matchbox 11, Hot wheels Alpine. I'm surprised there aren't more French hot wheels models.

2 Majorette XMs, Corgi Dyane and a Maisto 2CV

I nearly forgot! Renault Safrane

Just had a look at mine which is the same blue colour, no painted lights on that one (nor silver bumpers). But it does have a full set of glass.

...which is I think the old Corgi casting, also used by MC Toy

But did they re-use this when they did the Kellogg's cars or make a new one?

I have these ones with glass except in the tailgate (probably fell out) and no light detail

And this one with a full complement of glass. As this era Corgi weren't exactly the greatest for detailing, I reckon it's a previous owner's improvement

I've never seen a Rover with those late-type wheels that the plain white one has?

Do you need glass?  I have the daft pencil sharpener one and it won't miss it

Yes.

Well, it is better than that - it is an 'eater'

I think this was also a pricey antique fair 'whim' purchase...   I have a habit of not walking away from this sort of thing.  Much to my wife's annoyance.

Would swapz for massive Zylmex Hot Rod remnants.

here's some more of my shelf tat

20200531_161918.thumb.jpg.6d30e725bd289ea27d619fcfa3c27ac3.jpg

a rather battered matchbox ovlov 760 , had this one since I was very small

20200531_161939.thumb.jpg.3ef2c3b8acc5dca9dfa5c27ac7a6311a.jpg

majorette renault safrane, possibly as rare as the cars themselves were over here

20200531_162003.thumb.jpg.74533143886dd208e9e129e1c48549a9.jpg

matchbox rover sterling with epic rimz

20200531_162016.thumb.jpg.e23aa6dc55e99d09e826e22ac6fcc144.jpg

siku vw passat mk3, my favourite shape- I have quite a few siku models from going over there a lot as a child as I have family over there, although this was found at a toy fair in the UK iirc. an excellent* colour choice as well

20200531_162034.thumb.jpg.16fe3e387a274bac3c7c179b8b692bd9.jpg

majorette escort mk5? fastback? coupe? 3 door? not sure what this shape is called. it appears to have been painted over by a previous owner judging by the lights and the fact that behind the doors there is yellow paint.

20200531_162048.thumb.jpg.d5e0553de741a4eee1bbc07bc9df9a9e.jpg

matchbox Honda Element, picked up in America as a child I think. I have a vague memory of being driven around in one of my dad's colleagues example when we were there once.

20200531_162059.thumb.jpg.c9d79ce9b79a9b3696a9b40c8b50624e.jpg

two corgi rockets, although without the thingy to lower and raise the ride height, and with rather battered paint. the Jag I've had for a very long time.

20200531_162219.thumb.jpg.a190ff75b809cacfac5ff4663ac190be.jpg

and a blingtastic majorette merc SL. an extremely tasteful* paintjob.

@Datsuncog the trabants are maisto castings. funny you should say that about the yellow one, I've had that probably 10 years longer than the other three!

Are you selling the Escort?

This arrived recently

Colin the Cowboy had a make-over specially, as it was none-other than the Hot Wheels PACKIN' PACER from 1977.

20200602_090713102_iOS.jpg

20200602_090726912_iOS.jpg

What is it packing?  A rear engine, that's what.

20200602_090739921_iOS.jpg

And what with those trumpet exhaust pipes, I'll bet it made a right din

20200602_090833459_iOS.jpg

20200602_090847568_iOS.jpg

Any more Packin' Pacers in the AS archives?  It seems to be an uncommon model if the bidding war was anything to go by

Oh yes - mine's blind in one eye

I was surprised to find a plastic base on this model

If it had been a metal base, it probably wouldn’t be peripheral-vision deficient...
