Spottedlaurel
Sunny Truck kit is progressing well: 1:24 Hasegawa Nissan Sunny Truck kit by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr 1:24 Hasegawa Nissan Sunny Truck kit by Spottedlaurel, on Flickr It had its final coat of paint last night and is now drying out in the airing cupboard. Fixing the 10 tiny little loadbay hooks was a challenge, on two occasions I nearly lost one of them. I'm also making up some odds and ends to go in the back, hence the Honda Tact scooter, tool box and fuel cans from other kits. flat4alfa
Went to big Tesco yesterday, first time since all this pandemic started. What a waste of time... Full of all last years Matchbox stock! Just one of the new range and that was a lonesome Mk1 Golf. Hot Wheels were all old stock too, none of the 2020 range. So went to Poundland. Only a handful on the shelf but at least were new stock. Bought the 32 Ford hot rod. Went to B&M. Same again, no new stock for months. I think I live in a minature-shite-deprived area! Why the stock is so different across the country I don't understand. I might have to move to Ipswich I think. In the meantime I will continue to get my stock from our Carrickfergus roving tat correspondent Datsuncog

So a three way exchange came about This weird thing died (it was overdue) to donate its wheels... ... To this (Lada 112) Which in turn donated its wheels to the BX I think they work quite well. The reason I'm not using the original ones is because the wheels have gone funny and won't sit straight. I've seen quite a few crop up in the tat boxes/charity stall, but didn't think anyone here was collecting them. They usually look in fairly good nick, as the unusual plastic body/diecast base construction means they can't get chipped... I had a fair few of them at one point - that Caprice patrol car included - but I think they went to Bramz7 a few years back, in the general clear-out. From the pic: Mercedes SL (R129-series) in silver Renault Espace Mk3, Ambulance Nissan Terrano, rallye Generic Formula 1-style car Chevrolet Caprice Police Patrol Nissan 300ZX, racing I also had a Peugeot 605 by Novacar, though sold that on a while before to a Peugeot nut on the AS Facebook group. (Can't find a pic of my exact model, but it looked like this) I understand that the Portuguese maker Novacar were effectively a Majorette subsiduary around this time - having been bought out by them in the late 80s. https://majorette-cars.fandom.com/wiki/Novacar To that end, I'd certainly be interested in a comparison of that Novacar Caprice with Majorette's own offering, as I always wondered if it was a straight copy... ^^^ You may also recognise some of the other items from that tat box which have recently been re-homed on these fair pages, as part of the endless tat merry-go-round... good to see they're still circulating.
