Jon
Is that a Schuco Opel Manta? Either way, there's some excellent examples there. I'm hoping that with that calibre of a collection, you have a few 1/43s, too... I've got a couple of those Playart Opel Senators, too: A really nice casting, unlike a lot of their efforts! morrisoxide, Datsuncog, RayMK and 2 others
bunglebus
Dammit I was trying to be clever saying Cavalier coupé rather than Manta! Some really unusual stuff there Sudsprint and flat4alfa
flat4alfa
The difference is the two slats cut on the nose. Cavalier Coupe and Sports Hatch (despite being built on same line at Genk) had the pressing kept without the cuts being punched out. Chevair had the same front on the sedans too Sudsprint
bramz7
Most recent purchases. The Mini cost about double the 500, but I'd been after them both for a while. Innocenti Mini next hopefully. I've also bought something highly unusual, but it's being shipped from Italy. So I'll have it eventually. barrett
Just discovered Corgi got this close to producing a Gamma Coupé in the late '70s... what an utter waste. bunglebus
A few more little projects done; Corgi Zakspeed Capri always annoyed me as the wheels and arches were way too small. Had a set of wheels hanging around that suited it better 20200406_101336 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_101403 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_101451 by RS, on Flickr DeLoreans have to be brushed bare metal. Tried sanding it but it looked wrong, wire wheel finish was as close as I could get, then painted the "plastic" bits silver and found some wheels similar to the originals 20200406_141626 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_141621 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_141636 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_141600 by RS, on Flickr Made something for the woman to keep her happy too 20200406_100122 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_100050 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_103036 by RS, on Flickr 20200406_102029 by RS, on Flickr Remspoor, DoctorRetro, 155V6 and 6 others

The Van Cleemput book has a short chapter on prototypes that I've been slavering over lately. In other tragic mini-near-misses, the Mk2 Escort with the BSM cone was apparently meant as a 1/35 replacement for the VW Beetle Driving School Car - but for whatever reason we ended up, quite a bit later, with the steering Triumph Acclaim instead. Skizzer
Prototype sold for £750. I paid a bit more for my 1:1 scale one, which also has opening doors and (tell me about it) bonnet, but I haven’t had much more play value out of it.
