I can see why you were keen to get hold of it.  Looked it up and it's a new 2020 release, in one colour.  Did you have to buy from a foreign seller?

Are they in the U.K. Tesco’s now?

Don't know if they're in Tesco yet, my local one restocked recently but it's all last year's stuff like the Giulia, VW Thing, Caprice, etc. I got the Golf and today's Hot Wheels from my usual Facebook seller. She's based in the UK, but gets her stock from the US and all over Europe, usually Portugal I think.

I tend to pick up a lot of HW and MB locally but the shops round here have been a dead loss since the beginning of the year, even before the outbreak.

I've got that Polistil 928 somewhere, though not with those wheels, just a set of the generic Ferrari style 5 spokes Polistil used at the time, it does look weird with skinny rear wheels! From memory it was 1/24 scale or thereabouts.

Good old Polistil were covering all bases at the time

Continuing my Italian lockdown theme (from 4 pages ago - there's lots of content on here of late!), here's another Fiat revelling alone at an Italian place of interest.

I'd not seen any recent versions of Bburago 1/43s and came about this one sitting in the $1 (50p) tub at my favoured model shop, after they were having a clear out of a $5 cabinet, to make space for new stock. I certainly wouldn't value it at £2.50 but at 1/5th the price, why not? Especially since it had a blue interior.

So apologies for the modern content but rest assured that I found other items of interest in the 50p tub and took full advantage of their availability.

Hope everyone's staying safe out there!

I had that BP Corgi Zakspeed Capri, guessing it was in one of several boxes of cars I couldn't retrieve from the loft when I split up with my wife

I can see loads in there I wish I still had, the BP Renault 5, Sun Burner, the blue White Heat, white Cosmic Blues... evil woman :(

In two minds what to do with the Concertina - paint is nice but over white primer looks too light for the Jupiter Red I was trying to replicate. Where I've painted it over black on the base it looks closer. Before I detail it I wonder if it's worth re-doing it black then the red

Probably, or given to her nephew to play with. At least that way someone else got to enjoy them I suppose

How long ago was all this? Is it possible they are still there in that loft

We could post a 'wanted old matchbox collector cars' flyer in the door, then if responded to  a 'proxy buyer' such as me pops round and buys the boxfulls

at least you'd know one way or another and not dwell on it, like I have done far too much of in the past.

Of course you're welcome to tell me to mind my own business!

Too late it's in the jar of thinner - I want to recreate my dad's Jupiter 2.0S so I'd like it to be as accurate as possible

Gahhh....

Well ok now an ideal* opportunity to heat up the rear end and lift it up a tad.  Hadn't realised how saggy they cast the arse on these!  It's like it's had a new one welded home, after a punch up the arse from a Leyland National

SUNDAY WILLYS PHOTOSHOOT

Majorette Hot Rods 1941 Willys in 1/32 scale

I have two.  So I hope looking at them cheers you up a bit.  Both missing hoods, although I do have one hood, it's just gone walkies only recently and must be in the bottom of a box somewhere as I don't 'just lose' things these days!  Bought to turn in to slot cars ( I spotted the screws in the advert and then mind went into overdrive) but to be fair the '57 Chevy that came with it in a job lot of big Majorettes proved the body castings are really too heavy.  I was going break one for the engine and wheels, take a mould off the body, then sell on in a job lot of body shells to slot nutters.

But if you have interest in at least part-rekindling your '41 Willys friendship, let me know

Pretty realistic I'd say. It reminds me of that saggy-arsed Cortina estate that caused quite a sensation on here a few years ago.

In my own miniature shite news, here's something I've been working on. My first experience of a 3D printed model, a friend linked me to an OO scale Nova on eBay and I had to have one as my parents ran D168 WNH in the late 1990s. The model was a 3-door so I had to file the wheelarch bulges off but being solid at least meant it was easy to reposition the window pillars and make a 5-door. It's a bit crude close up but not bad considering how tiny it is, and a welcome addition to the collection of 'cars what we have owned'.
