I had two of those as well, once upon a time, in yellow and blue - Buddy L, were they? Or Tonka... can't remember now, think the brand was moulded into the outside of the wheels, a bit like tyre lettering. Came as the load on an articulated transporter, if memory serves...

Memory's not that stellar these days, to be fair.

?

Pretty spot on memory recall there.

what’s that hiding under the bed, BUDDY L

it must of had a fairly long production run, box is dated 1989, cars 1981.

Waifs, strays and no-name stuff

Just found out these are made by High Speed, I had a MK1 Golf but there were loads in the box today. All seem to be characterised by no rear window and a yellow interior that holds the axles in place

Stock-piling extends to charity shop stock, shocker!

I've been wanting to slim down the 1:64ish collection, but can't seem to quite get there...    I could be persuaded on the:

Summer Benz

MB Porsche 914

Fisker

HW Skyline Ken Mari

HW CELICA IN BLUE !!!

WEDNESDAY EVENING HOT ROD MEET WITH KEN AND DOLLY WENT WELL

Two 'Funny Car' Dragsters also showed up to too: Gus's Gulper and Milligan's Mill

All the owners dropped them off and then scarpered into self-isolation.  Well ok, apart from the Fireman, who was comatose thoughout.

Still, that meant Dolly & Ken could paw over the lot in peace.  And so they did.

WP_20200307_15_46_20_Pro.jpg

The next meet is set for April 15.

Post Lady as been!

Some of the new-in stock :

IMG_2261.jpg

All the slot car motors and gearing have been coaxed into life ? Two of the cars are even driving about too, after a fashion ?

The spare slot bodies (not from AS-sources) are a NSU TT (blue/silver stripe) and a chopped-about Airfix Rapier (red/black)

Pleased to see the Scouse Hillman still has its tool box tools!   Minor Traveller will soon be meeting its van and saloon sisters for a parts-swapping event

Gremlin in the photo for comedy value.

Don't know how many of these I have now. I was always like that whilst collecting, I'd get my sights set on one particular model and proceed to get as many as I could. You lot understand right?

I’ve got a couple of them in my box in the loft. Battered from heavy play use in the 90s.

still not found a Volvo 850, beginning to think they’ve been panic bought ?

You clearly have too many and I can happily provide a Hot Wheels Volvo 850 in swap for one of those *with* the added bonus contraband of one 3-ply Andrex roll.

Bought it from ebay.fr seller who had a few of the range.  Idea was to convert to slot, but the die cast bodies on these are too heavy, to be fair

There is another version with a wilder engine

Swifty's Garage site covers that:
