So then - amid sun and showers at the tail end of Friday, where are we?

Well, going back a few weeks...

It's no good trying to resist the lure of the tat box any longer!

If this yellow MAN and the battered EFE Harrington are still in the box o' tat next time would you mind hoiking them out for me, thankyouplease?

Now secured!

Thought it was a Harrington Cavalier, but it turns out it's a Grenadier. Schoolboy error, hey?

The cheap plastic rear of the MAN is bust, but the cab still looks pretty good.

Hopefully some use to you!

If it isn't too late, would you mind picking up a few of the Custom Car mags please?

There were only two issues of CC in there, but picked them up for you at a quid each - and will give them a press between something heavy, as they're slightly rumpled.

December 1970...

...and May 1971.

Yes, there's a centrefold in here. Yes, it's exactly what you might expect for a gentlemen's interest magazine in 1971. No, I'm not going to upload it on a work computer. 'Nuff said.

There were also these...

20200214_125831.thumb.jpg.a446261c2f21a70e4be30205ecd06ea9.jpg

The Vauxhall Guildsman has slightly wonky wheels, but isn't one I've looked at closely before. The Charger III is complete, but the glazing seems a little off and is pushing the canopy up, so I'll see if that's fixable.

The Lotus Super GT is just one I kinda like.

And also...

20200214_125806.thumb.jpg.39d7cbb497462d6908c1b900a52cb308.jpg

'Superfast Laser Wheels' Pontiac Fiero still reasonably presentable... and the Bomag Road Roller was procured in an effort for me to appreciate Matchbox's construction models, as so far I've kinda ignored them a bit.

The Michelin container is in good nick, and originally came with the Superkings Scammell.

Of course, I got rid of my Scammell without a container a few years ago...

I'd kinda agreed not to bring yet more tat of uncertain future home with me, but hey...

I may have to brazen it out that this is A Thing.

All of the above (except Quicksilver's items) are available at cost price of 50p...

Oh yeah, and I buckled - I took the Aussie Transit too.

For £2, it seemed rude to leave it. Available at cost price as well...

Other stuff I noticed on the stall, just while I was hoking an hour or so ago...

AMC Javelins a-go-go.

20200214_131239(0).thumb.jpg.70367d02fc2a7b4cb51285cc613a74dc.jpg

Fairly playworn BMW M1 racers.

20200214_131336.thumb.jpg.c224ee8fb0d63ef4554444c4f9bf4d0e.jpg

Alfa Romeo SZ was always an odd choice of model from Matchbox.

20200214_131256.thumb.jpg.0c12b43350332ded0655f8d44078c618.jpg

Lots of Toe Joes, none of them entirely complete.

20200214_131949.thumb.jpg.654425e6c702afed768fb7aa56308601.jpg

Even more Baja Bugs and Beach Buggies - none of them with a complete set of headlights.

20200214_131912.thumb.jpg.f8d23a59981aea9f82ab76e05f0b5006.jpg

Premium concours resto M9?

20200214_131403.thumb.jpg.00d90b43eff3afa16c4802edc885feb6.jpg

Very stripey Ford Bronco II; Humvee with Lost World tampo.

20200214_140411.thumb.jpg.79116242acbea95ce0be7f686d0bba6c.jpg

The Mystery Cars from above - they are indeed the Hot Wheels Mustang and Corvette.

If there's any interest, I'll keep an eye out for next week...

Yeah, what with Eddy's guy opting to stay at home and keep his tat dry, and my fella seemingly struggling to attract new primo mini-chod, it is perhaps a slightly underwhelming Friday.

However... all being well, I'll be bopping over to the shop in Whitehead tomorrow morning to collect some items for @quicksilver, @egg and @Amishtat - and I received a message earlier that there's some fresh diecast from storage for perusal, plus "a bit of a mystery one".

Intrigued?

You will be!

The week ain't over yet...

Confusingly, that particular crate wasn't about during the Crazy 50p Event the other week - although some models formerly in there (like the blue Corgi Toyota 2000GT, Ferrari Berlinetta Le Mans and Chevrolet Corvair) did appear on the 50p table, and were swiftly nabbed.

About £2 seems to be the going rate for items in that crate - and I've been mulling over the Elan, as it's complete bar the windscreen...

If he punts them down to 50p as well, I'll certainly be onto them like a seagull on a fish supper!

Forgive me if I've forgotten but I don't remember asking for anything from the Whitehead shop (unless you're going to surprise me...)

Daaah, sorry - it was an item for @RoadworkUK, my mistake!

I've got it down on the spreadsheet correctly, dunno what I was thinking there.

Possibly getting muddled, as I found this article last night in an old copy of Collector's Gazette, and was thinking of your Impy Foden:

20200214_081852.thumb.jpg.e7f87f7c3002af2ce3c35fdda440cadf.jpg

20200214_081947.thumb.jpg.a383c161729f111604bb63cbd88ca9ac.jpg

The quote "they are based on model trucks long out of production" makes me think that Marquis Models pretty much took a direct casting imprint from the Impy Foden and Budgie Leyland cabs.

I'd always wondered where that Foden had come from, and in 00 scale too!

Cheers Tim, I think you've got a bus knocking about for me somewhere; more than happy to get these bits out of your way when you're ready. Issue me a sternly worded final demand and I'll remunerate accordingly.
