Two problems here; I'm pretty useless with kits and 2; but not as useless as TTE were when it came to racing Carina Es in 1994.

In the sellers shop categories you'll find 'Bum Slots'... ?

Turns out there are detail differences in the bases, Beach Hopper has a tittle tab at the front of the base which locates into the body, got to come off. Also found the DD body is a bit thicker in the sides so stops the base and interior going in nicely. I could have ground the inside of the body but it can be seen, so as I have to mod the base anyway I'll file it down until it fits.

These are Beach Hopper and Baja Buggy bases, DD buggy is plastic

Suuuuuup!!!!

Been spotting and buying some miniture tat of late. Yesterday as a stauntered outside I came across a local antiques emporium who had these outside:

20191207_152344.thumb.jpg.212ce93079124d243bf24952716fe7b1.jpg

20191207_152348.thumb.jpg.7eb8190040e82411f3a5c5165dcea2a3.jpg

At over £3 each or 3 for £10 I can't say I was overly interested.

I did however spot this on eBay and at just under £4 delivered I stuck a bid in and won:

20191208_154233.thumb.jpg.0908dc183778795e32d208e975709c61.jpg20191208_155458.thumb.jpg.4297c932975a8f1a94f07288f82980db.jpg20191208_155509.thumb.jpg.1ae2cb866497e23c3bfd5103bc3f0f9a.jpg20191208_154347.thumb.jpg.ebfc424257af43eae2d82600f191d53e.jpg20191208_154352.thumb.jpg.78a0f7e56fb9a640742e7942617247df.jpg

It's a 1/43 model of the Lancia Dialogos concept from 1998:

LanciaDialogos.jpg

The Solido model don't really seem to sell for much more than what I paid for it. There are a few others about for around £5 etc... but I'm happy. Theae seem to be kind of models that sit in glass cabinets at Lancia specialists.

Apparently this is an Australian issue catalogue, certainly some of the model names and colours seem to differ from the UK

Another one that was bought a while ago, finally gets a bit of display time,

IMG_20190706_170133.thumb.jpg.231201ff532ed30b6b20414a50c03b52.jpg

Bit different to my usual stuff I show on here, but I am quite a perv when it comes to 70's BL tat, and I've always been an admirer of the old P6.

This is one of the el cheapo Corgi 60th anniversary editions. A few Vanguards castings were borrowed for the anniversary, the Rover, Escort MK1 Mexico, Morris Minor and MK1 Mini-Cooper. All came in special boxes, reminiscent of the good old early Vanguards sleeve boxes, with a metal lapel badge, all for £14.99.

Corgi-60th-anniversary-model-VA06519-Rover-P6-3500.jpg.4ffeb4c8c68326c2445a1701de57f9c3.jpg

Naturally, all the Escorts were snapped up and can be seen on eBay for roughly 2 or 3 times the original price but the other 3 can still be had cheaply. I got this one for £14 posted.

IMG_20190706_170157.thumb.jpg.11e1164fd9527900a3b6474735e1f78d.jpg

For an old Lledo-era Vanguards casting, it doesn't look too bad, making the transition from series 1 to series 2 pretty well, especially liking the egg crate grille with the V8 badging. Can't grumble with the 50 shades of brown colour scheme, either. Only grumble really is with the wheels, obviously they're meant to be 3500S trims but they're far too big. An interesting detail is on the boot lid, where Corgi have gone to the trouble of tampo printing a blanking plate, representing where a boot mount spare would have been previously fitted. Nice to see a County Durham reg number as well.

A nice addition to my BL/ARG/MGR /Not-Shit Vauxhall section of the display unit, which is admittedly mostly Allegros! (A hangover from the days I owned the real thing, I set out to own all the Vanguards Allegro variants.) It will sit well next to the lairy yellow MGZT.

Hi all,

Sending a post on my phone to show what I found yesterday for the princely sum of 5 for £4, or thereabouts.

I've no idea how to edit the photos and words together, so I'll write my guff and hopefully the images will be somewhere in the post.

Anyway, as you can hopefully see, I bagged a couple of the seemingly elusive Hotwheels 850 touring cars! The SIII Land Rover was bought for my nephew and the Honda Jazz and gold van were bought as interesting filler, to make the numbers up.

Attached (hopefully) are some hastily taken close-ups of the Volvo. If any bar the Landie are proving to be difficult to source in the UK, place dibs and I can bring them with me when I come back to visit next year.f122b60c09f06361d888a05363eec3e4.jpg82d926303410530eb385667ae2a491ba.jpgbe484d48e8b70867df669032a99d2d61.jpg47ed52926e5c97b1d26f233e11ec22d4.jpg

In other news, I managed to snag these two yesterday from a seller on FB,

received_778544429236753.thumb.jpeg.a6f3cba87949849e22f5ca30df2aa602.jpeg

The SVX is a must-have and the BINI countryman will go nicely with my recently purchased R53 Cooper.

(Of course this probably means that now Tesco will be groaning with them, at half the price I've just paid...)

How long has £14 been cheap?  Does not compute!  Lovely-looking model though, I have some of the 2000 but really need a 3500 or two.

Langleys in Norwich had a load of those tinned Lancias (and Alfas) earlier this year.

Good old Langleys! I always pop in if I'm passing (sadly rare) just in case they've got a stack of 1:18 AutoART models going cheap. They did, once, which is how I own a 007 FYEO Esprit. Way out of my price range now.

Nice selection; quite the gymkhana you've got going there!

I had a further trawl through my Charlie Mack reference book, and my orange cab/chocolate body/ white drop-down door (just like yours on the far right of the pic) is variant #25; no more rare than any other colour combo.

Never worry, I still like it just as much!

Fantastic to see it all back together again - wonder how many years it's been since that little thing was complete? Those plastic tellies couldn't have stayed with the van for long, I'd guess.

Lesney really did make the best little choking hazards.

Ohhhhhh…. now that is rather wonderful. I don't really do larger scales, but that's a honey alright.

When I sold my rotten 1:1 version for spears or reapers eight years back, I promised myself that I'd own a decent XM estate one day.

But now the decent ones are all white room money, so looks like I may find solace where I can...

Hey hey, good to see you back here!

They're good value, those Lancias.

Whoever's selling them isn't making much coin... you're paying less than if you'd been buying them from off me two years ago via Home Bargains, once postage is thrown into the mix!
