egg
I did not even think of Simca. For some reason, my Simca recognition starts with the Aronde, a rather later body shape. I know what you mean. Actually, it's a Simca 8, not sure why Norev went with 1200 (well, of course it has an engine that size, but anyway...) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simca_8 RayMK
DoctorRetro
Sorry in advance for the picture dump. Went to a local model railway shop today and they always have a plethora of 00(ish) gauge cars unboxed and relatively cheap. These were a selection of the ones available. So, we picked out a few... Lada 1200 (ish) Citroen CXMercedes 260DMercedes erm.. Van? Some great weatheringBeetleOpel ReckordMini. Roof chopped maybe? Simca 1300Land Rover - a bit better quality And lastly, the piece du resistance or whatever the French for cool thing is... Renault Traffic with collapsed rear suspension. The eagle-eyed among you will realise this last one is not 00 gauge.. Indeed not, but I couldn't resist it. loserone
Hyullo! I'm obviously not a regular in here, indeed I don't have that many miniature shite vehicles personally, though there are some at my rents house. Can I ask a stupid question though? Can anyone have a guess what size/scale cars I should be looking for for this car park? It was £2.99 and I couldn't resist it. Split_Pin
Y0 Panda_m those are Gr9. Was that a Hillman Imp in the box as well? The shonkier the better at that scale IMO. DoctorRetro

There were quite a few cool models in there but the wheels were annoying as they were too narrow. There was a Landcrab in there too! I have these two Minix models too... Junkman
Some may remember this restoration I did on the ex Eddyramrod Kennel Club hauler. I wrote back then that this isn't final and I would like to replace the tinted glass unit with a clear one and insert an interior from the correspondent PU version. Well, yesterday's pillage included this. So I broke it and the result is thusly. RayMK, 59Impala, paulscavalier and 15 others
Remspoor
You want to try looking for a 304 van, like I had! At least you can get a 305 saloon. Universal Hobbies are the mob responsible for the James Bond collection, which are quite good. I have several... Not much in the way of vans among them though, Bond tends to favour cars more.I think that a conversion could be undertaken.
Remspoor
I have found a Break 305 it is not so cheap.http://www.milinfo.org/article-33929529.html Edit. Found that Heco-modèles made a 305 fourgonnette, but I cannot find any for sale.

Try that in one of the spaces because from here it looks like it should fit. If it does, then you want Corgi/Dinky/other 1:43 scale cars.
DoctorRetro
Current 00 gauge(ish) collection. I posted this picture earlier, but the dirt on it is hurting my 'ocd'* Do I clean it up or not? If not, does someone else want it so it doesn't keep bothering me? *translate that how you will, some things just bother me so much I have to do something, I have lots of idiosyncrasies that indicate issues, but not really full blown OCD, and don't want to upset any sufferers. mercrocker
I already have one of those Merc vans (in clean edition) but I understand your concern. I wouldn't call it OCD but I have a similar outlook. I can't look at Junkman's splendid Kennel Truck resto without mentally re-arranging the dogs so that they all face inwards..... Amishtat
Was delighted to find this earlier.Playing with a much tidier example belonging to my dad is one of my earliest memories so I really am chuffed to get one at last. mercrocker
One of my favourites, that Hawk....I swapped one that colour for a Corgi Thunderbird in a playground deal that I instantly regretted. I remember asking the other lad if he was looking after it. He didn't actually call me a weirdo but I know what he was thinking..... IMG_20190218_141023.jpg Nice collection there - think the CX Familiale, G-Wagen and Merc floppytop (and is that also a Golf, and a white Matra Bageera?) with no windows are Bruder items - or, at least, I had some the same included with a plastic Bruder ferryboat a few years back. Slightly cruder than the railway scale items, but still a lot of charm. Mebbe worth putting the shell of the Mercedes van in a bag with some oven cleaner, as per my earlier Transit adventures? Failing that, I'd certainly give it a home (and a bath, probably)..

mercrocker
The proportions on that Humber are excellent, really is one of Dinky's best before the sloppy panel gaps when the opening features became necessary. Shame they never used the interior moulding on the civilian versions, though. Amishtat, Junkman and Datsuncog

junkyarddog
I haz (slightly creepy) effigy of Steven Mcqueens! That's coz I also haz his car! Behold the Corgi Bullitt Mustang.Picked this up in a tatty box for €5.00 last Sunday. These things are a mental price on eBay! Not worth it IMO,but at 5 euro it appealed to my frugal nature. Datsuncog
Tiny Transit is now out of its oven-cleaner bath and back on the keyboard. It looks a LOT more orange when it's next to the Capri - I would have sworn blind they were both nearly the same shade. I'll give it another repaint at some point, but right now I'm just enjoying looking at it. DoctorRetro
Remember this? Lost the lights and spares so it was a ruined model. My son (7) decided to restore it and we've managed to bodge some Moskvich lights and grille on the front and some random orange plastic for the rears. He has gone a bit 'blue forum' by slamming it, but he'll grow out of that I'm sure. I did* Just bumpers and no. plate to sort now... rainagain, Conrad D. rainagain
Would anyone be interested in this before I brave ebay with it. I'm can't remember where I got it from or why, I'm assuming it must have been a gift. It has some chips on the roof and is missing the Merc badge on the bonnet also the rear spoiler is loose, the windscreen has some light scratches from where my kids played with the front wiper. It has tons of detail, such as seat belts and working rear suspension. DoctorRetro

Corgi did a decent job getting those muscular proportions just right on the Mustang fastback - something the Matchbox Dinky version didn't quite pull off. Today's diecast-related grin for me was finding the broken bumper off Friday's Ford V8 Pilot wedged down into a fold in the packaging - so once glued back on, it looks grand.
